which of Jesus's Commandments is hardest for YOU to do?

I voted "love your neighbor as yourself". I TRY. But it is one of the harder commandments, especially when people attack you for your faith, belittle you, attack you, etc.

That's easy. This 3rd commitment. And I quote:

"No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."

I like them all except keep the Sabbath holy I've never understood that one.

"Don't talk about fight club."

I break that one regularly.

lol

yeh, that was a close 2nd for me

but I really do love people as I love myself bc I just don't normally do to others what I don't like done to me. But forgiving some of the things I have been through in life (if you only KNEW).. that has been difficult. I think I may have succeded, thoug... or should i say Jesus succeeded through me?

yeh, that one.

:)

the Catholic Church says you have to go to Mass on Sunday (though they have Mass almost every day) or it is a mortal sin..

it is not a mortal sin to stay home M-Saturday but on Sunday it is

I am so glad for that Commandmnet bc it has gotten me to Church so many times... and every time. . or nearly every time I go, I get something really helpful out of it... (God loves us more than we love ourselves.. way)

How do you feel when 'some' theists doom non-believers to an eternity of hellfire and torture, simply for not embracing that person's personal religious belief system ?

No human dooms anyone to hellfire. They do it to themselves.

God is just. The CC teaches that no one knows w/ certainty who is in Hell or who is on his/her way..

God is the judge.

I admit I judge people @ times (Who doesn't?).. but I catch myself

one thing that really works is reminding myself that i don't know a thing about any given person.. You can look at some act they do or neglect to do and be tempted to judge them as hell-bound but it is amazing how little we know about anyone

we don't even know ourselves.

"Come to my fan club every Sunday and worship me, or I will cast you into the fires of hell where you will experience torment beyond anything you can conceive for all of eternity, but remember, no one loves you more than I do."

-God

great point

all these people who say they hate being "judged" by Christians... and therefore Christianity must not be real

what is prbly really going on is that they reject Jesus...

God knows but I am sure that happens a lot

Then there are a lot of self-professed religious members in this very forum that didn't get that memo.

whatever

I don't claim to u/stand God

but I believe the Word is His Word and if someone says it is not.. I say

Well, you have to admit

sure would be good if it WERE true, eh?

i mean

love your neighbor as yourself... That definitely should be true, shouldn't it?

I can't speak for everyone. I know what God teaches and what sends a person to hell. I may share that information, but I am certainly not damning anyone there.

I respectfully disagree. Killing 40 plus children for mocking a bald man per a God's directive is not 'fair and just.'

False.

Few denominations (Witness and Adventist for examples) hold the Sabbath as moral law. Other denominations relegate Sabbath to ceremonial law and thereby fulfilled by Jesus and no longer God's law upon mankind (like diet). Further, Sabbath is to take place on the last day of the week, not the first. Jewish Shabbat is Saturday.

And it's not just about going to church. It's about what one does all day long. It's about walking with the Spirit once a week, and that being moral law.

Lastly, even among the rare denominations that hold keeping Sabbath as moral law, failing to go to church is not a sin. It's a sin to fail to observe Sabbath. Going to church is a way to observe Sabbath for part of the day, but it's not satisfying the law and it's not required to satisfy the law.

You live in a nation where every president has been a Christian, or at the very least faked it like the current one. Where Christians are over represented in congress, judgeship's, governorships, state houses, and all levels of government. Where a megachurch can build a country club for its members and still not pay a cent in tax..... Yet you think you are persecuted.

There are Christians in this world that face actual persecution. It is a shameful slap in the face to them for you to claim you are being persecuted as a Christian in America, the most Christian friendly nation in the entire modern developed world.

it is called "accuser of the brethren" words mostly set aside for the arch fiend Satan but....

a lot of non-Christians do this: they hate Christians and don't want to follow Jesus, so they justify themselves by accusing Christians of being judgmental and etc..... (NO, I am not saying anyone was accusing anyone... just that these last 2 posts reminded me of this trick of the nonchristians)

No one likes to be judged, I certainly find it uncomfortable. But God does judge us, and we (as Christians) are to judge righteously. Something non believers can't understand.

When you've been on top forever, equality looks like persecution.

Fair enough, and for the record, I didn't claim 'you' do that.
