Simple question. I'm reading a lot of Democrats on this forum sobbing and ranting over the death of Qasem Soleimani.

This is a public poll. Simple yes-no question.

Let me get this straight...A democratic administration including the State Department did nothing to help our people in Benghazi Libya and our people got killed. Nothing was done to those responsible except bluster and threats.
Now an American was killed in Iraq by Iranians and the Trump did something and liberal/progressives/democrats are upset. If Obama which drew line line after red line for almost eight years and did nothing except allow a Seal team to kill Osama while losing a top secret helicopter and democrats claimed a savoir to liberal and justice. If Obama did something like Trump did he would be claimed another national hero..but Trump is being slammed ...what is wrong with you people.
 
I am glad Soleimani is dead but I am concerned that the repercussions will end up outweighing the benefits.
 
Yes I agree with Trumps decision. I am very happy we bombed Iran they had it coming.

Loss of life is certainly to be deplored, but this is a lot more clear-cut than if action had been taken against Iranian assets in International waters.
If US leadership wasn't so divided, this would be an obvious opportunity to form a united front and issue a stern warning to Iran to consider it's actions carefully. But I doubt that is going to happen, so Iran will probably consider it a sign of weakness and act accordingly.
 
Irrelevant question. The relevant point is that Trump shouldn’t be making these decisions because he’s not thinking about consequences, broader strategy or long term goals.

Suleimani could be the worst human who ever lived, and it still doesn’t matter if the person making the decision to kill him is Trump because, and this can’t be overstated, he hasn’t and won’t put any more thought into the decision than “kill the Irani guy.”
 
This is a very volatile situation.

The US needs to stand down and withdraw our troops like Trump promised during his campaign.

Too many American lives have been lost in the Middle East. Time to end this madness.

Actually Obama did much more than Trump. 563 missile strikes into Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. I don't think he was called a hero but, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prizes, albeit that was before he actually did anything.

They didn't bomb Iran. They bombed Iraq who is an ally of the US. Simple part of this story is if Trump hadn't pulled us out of the Iran Nuclear Deal, we wouldn't be where we are today.

He only did it because Obama had his name on it. He never thought through what may happen down the road. Now he knows how stupid he was. And so do the rest of our allies.

Good going Donald. He always said he knows more than the generals do. I sure doubt that.
 
Forgot to mention another theory I have. What about Trumps famous history of changing the news cycle. There has been some pretty damning evidence coming out about Ukraine. I wouldn't put it past him and Pompeo to pull off some shi* like this to make everyone look the other way.

Where is the evidence Iran was planning imminent attacks on Americans? Why were no democrats in congress notified? Who the hell does Trump think he is anyway? Democrats in the House are in the majority. Trump is pure scum, criminal scum.

Gee, Obama carried out nearly 600 drone strikes. You must have been aghast when that was going on.

I'm going to abstain from voting or go with option 3. My opinion is this: Trump was certainly within his rights to send a strong message to Iran about their involvement with the attack on our embassy and this guy was certainly a bad dude in the past and would absolutely be a bad dude in the future. But, we had reached a point where there were millions of Iranians protesting their government with even the possibility that they may overthrow it sometime in the future and now these same people are chanting, "Death to America". So, overall, the decision may have hurt us a lot more than it helped us.

He didn't do anymore than the very same thing American Presidents have been doing since about GWB and Obama in taking out enemies with drones.
