I guess Republicans have a better understanding of why we have the Electoral College to begin with.

Trump won because he went into the Democrat blue states and took them from Hillary..............304-227

And like all sore Hillary losers who are at a loss of reason .......you revert to the same worn out EC argument. :lamo

Republicans defend it because it gives their party an advantage. And they will be loath to give up that advantage until it no longer is.

Perhaps you will be blessed with long life and will live one day to answer your question.

So no predictions as to which 38 of the several sovereign states will opt to amend the treaty so as to reduce their political influence?

I actually don't think 38 of them will ever opt to do so.

I have written on the matter and have nothing more to say. Your thoughts are your own.

Are you going to complain about the senate next?

I have a very long list of complaints about many different things.

So in addition to changing the way the states choose the president, you'd also like to eliminate the senate? Is this what you're actually saying?

I say what I say. Feel free to quote me.

You piss and moan because your party lost, and you lack the intellectual honesty to admit that the EC works..

We expect this from you, so it's not a big deal anyways.

If by "it works" you mean allowing the elite to override the will of the people - yes that it what it was designed to do and that is what it does. Five different times at last count.

Would you like to say whether or not you would like to eliminate the senate?

If you start a thread with that as the topic, I will read it and perhaps I may expound on the matter.

But I have too much respect for the rules to hijack this current thread.

So none of the rich and powerful wanted Trump. They all backed Jeb Bush. They gave Jeb Bush a war chest of over two billion dollars, but Trump beat Jeb.

Trump's backers are the people worried about globalization, their jobs moving overseas and yes, immigration is part of globalization too. These people voted, and their guy won.

Democracy in action?

No, the rich and powerful felt that only a polished neocon like Jeb could carry their message of ripping off the American people. They were wrong. Trump is not just an acceptable vehicle for corruption, he's the perfect vehicle. You just don't get it. Trump didn't realigned the Republican agenda. He fulfilled it. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.

Trump's a well meaning guy who loves his country. They all sucked up to him even Oprah until he defeated Hillary and then he became worse than Hitler in their world.

Trump cameo:

Trump's deplorables are similar to the Jerry Springer fans, and many of them have died the last three years and have not been replaced.

This guy Trump executes the laws enacted by congress? That's his job, right?

I voted yes and I will explain in a moment, but just a clarification...while Jeb Bush DID raise more than Trump, it was to the tune of $156 million (and that is with the PACs and SuperPACs).

Trump won via the Electoral College; his 304 votes to Hillary's 227. Winning the Electoral College is how one becomes president. Trump did not win the popular vote. Only three other times did this happen (a fourth happened by a vote in the House), all Republicans, BTW (just a fact).

Trump's current impeachment is also democratic. While many like to argue that it isn't, the process, thus far has been in accordance to the Constitution, if not precedence. Trump is only the third president to be impeached.

The point I am trying to make here is that BECAUSE these two circumstances are so rare in our nation's history...it shows how well democracy works when allowed to do so. And Trump, believe it or not, is showing that...so far.

No, a failure of the system that lets the candidate with fewer votes take the prize. Whatever Trump is, he is not 'democratically' elected.

There was a candidate got 3 million more votes than Trump. Three million.

Still sour? Yup....
