What I find particularly stupid about the Republican's argument that the Democrats are "trying to reverse the election" is that Mike Pence would become president if Trump is removed and it wasn't Trump v. When Gerald Ford replaced Spiro Agnew, it had to be confirmed by the Senate. Pence would get to nominate a replacement VP unless he is removed before he gets an opportunity.

After Gerald Ford was promoted to President, he selected Nelson Rockefeller as his VP which was confirmed by the Senate.

There is a chance that if Trump is found guilty that Pence will be as well. In fact, Trump is such a low life he would do everything possible to sully Pence and out him of any wrongdoings.

I would actually prefer Pence to Trump but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump on board the witch hunt wagon.
