the tax cuts were NOT just for the rich. There is so much misinformation
And I never said that the Rs were much better than Ds vis a vis growing the govt. It seems both are guilty, and then some complain when people depend on said bloated govt... so basically the govt is making people dependent, then punishing them for being so (w/ poverty... with not doing anything that will REALLY help them...).
This country is not what it should be/could be... used to be... but then again, maybe it never was because... 2 words: human nature. Those 2 words.. well, the Bible says it best "All have sinned and fallen short..." ALL... R, D, I... those who don't vote.. etc... ALL
and a huge number of those "all" want to keep the status quo
Depends on what you consider the status quo is. or as grown to be.
America has always wanted progress through hard work and saving .
Even in the past the cost of living has never been equal to the wages of the average worker.
The old sayings of the past 'the more you make the more they take" or" the rich get richer the poor still struggles"were very often too true, but the workers kept working didn't look up.
However, after the outsourcing, after the tax cuts went to the rich , the research grants went to the rich , after the comment by the R'S "as you say"to the average and poor "pull yourself up by your own bootstrings" one day and the rich corporations ask for and get 740 million the next well the poor , the working poor and lower middle class started looking up many did not like what was happening.
After all getting a million dollar loan and not hiring American workers but actually letting many go and asking for your yearly tax cut while giving the person responsible for your companies financial problems a bonus well??
Not only the workers are looking hard at these millionaires and billionaires others have too the young people in or coming out of College, the millennials the elderly, the vets.
Also there is this free market a double edge sword in my book , While Chrysler is selling out to Fiat, GMC is leaving Ohio again Honda, and Toyota manufacturing is moving in and so are their car lots and sales.
Walmart hit the forbes top 10 list again this year. Imports vs exports anytime you run the numbers check on America's car sales , retail sales compared to foreign sales.
I have but one question the money saved by outsourcing jobs by corporations IS IT WORTH IT?
The old adage " Be Patriotic buy American' kinda left with the jobs.
One other thing corporations have overlooked Corporations say "it is not the responsibility of a Corporation to hire American labor" THIS IS TRUE.
However, since this is America , American people which are consumers say "it is not the responsibility to buy American products made overseas" THIS IS TRUE.
