Please, try to be honest here Conservatives. I really want to know how you would rank Trump with respect to the average Republican President. It feels like even most Republicans that have and probably still voted for Trump have no choice, but to admit that he's kind of a **** head, you just don't really care because he's advocating policy positions that you support.

Like seriously I want to know what % of so called Republicans would classify Trump as better than Reagan or worse than Bush. Feel free to expand on where you'd rank him among Republicans you'd like to see in office.

too many poll options. Very confusing.

lol

I mean, it's not really confusing at all. You just need to read the options.

lol

You neglected democrat and yes.

“Democrat to Deplorable" takes a deep look at the nine million Democrats who proudly switched parties to vote for President Donald Trump.

Reading is hard.
Those squiggly, wiggly letter thingies are very, very, very difficult.

I think this is a great poll, with really great options. I'm looking forward to the results. Thanks, OP!

I can't imagine that anyone is honest enough to choose "I wpukd literally let Trump do me from behind" though i think that attitude describes some posters around here.

Needs another option. "I voted third party, but may have to force myself to vote Democrat if it looks like Trump might win my state"

It might be a more honest poll if other viewers could see how others voted.
How do we know that people are being truthful unless we can see who votes?

Btw, I already voted.

Always with the bias.

1. There were some Democrats who voted for Trump, and will likely be some who will vote for him again. Just as there were some Republicans who voted for Hillary, and some who will not vote for Trump again.

2. Options 3, 4, and 5 ("I would literally let Trump do me from behind?" That's a real question?) Were a group of nasty character assassinations as ever. :doh

Not even an attempt to try to be balanced, and yet you expect across the board participation.

Typical :coffeepap:

Trump is not nearly as bad as the left makes him out to be.

He's not a politician or a lawyer. People have said for years, "you know what's wrong with Washington? It's filled with politicians and lawyers who don't know what they are doing. We should elected a businessman or something."

So now were seeing how that is turning out.

Question...
Is Trump a good president?

Most definitely...
His decision on Syria has taken our President to the top. Matter of fact all of his decisions has improved our daily lives. The audacity of this frivolous impeachment investigations is barbaric.

Overly biased categories, so I'll forego voting on this one.

I didn't vote in the poll because there wasn't a category for me. I voted for Carter and then Reagan. I didn't leave the Democratic party, they left me. So I'm not a "life long" Republican. And while I find Trump to be too much of a populist, I do like most of his policies. I especially dislike most of what the Democratic candidates propose.

Trump supporters are not bad, they're just people who are sick of the same old garbage. Most of the people who voted for Trump have had sand kicked in their face for decades. For years Dems and Republicans were largely the same. It's just that Republicans picked their pockets while throwing them the occasional bone of cultural grievance. Trump offered something different, even if it was to take a wrecking ball to the establishment that rigs the system in their favor. That's why an establishment candidate would incredibly weak against him even after all the terrible things he has done. Joe or Klobuchar offering a return to normalcy is the absolute worst strategy you can think of.

People are going to support Trump even though he's clearly a terrible president / human being because America still hasn't learned its lesson.

The left have done their best to make Trump look as bad as possible but it still doesn't come anywhere close to the 1000 seats Democrats lost while Obama was president.

How about:

I am independent and I voted...
I am Democrat and I voted....

Both of those could be Conservative.

He won the independent vote and stole a telling amount of democrat votes.

“Democrat to Deplorable" takes a deep look at the nine million Democrats who proudly switched parties to vote for President Donald Trump.

The math doesn't even work for that ludicrous claim. Trump received 62.9 million votes compared to Hillary's 65.8 million votes in 2016. In 2012, Obama received 65.9 million. Hillary ended up only about 80,000 less votes than Obama had in 2012. In contrast, Trump won with a lower percentage of the vote than what Romney lost with just 4 years earlier. This notion that millions of Obama voters switched to Trump is utter nonsense. It's supported by basic math.

I find the polling posts here to be absurd. Biased questions by posters looking for affirmation is the norm. None of you really want to know what others think, you just want them to agree with you.

I'm a Democrat

I certainly think the choices in your poll shows some bias. But that's okay. I'm not a Republican nor a democrat. I did vote third party in 2016 because of my high disdain for both Trump and Hillary Clinton. As for 2020, my vote will depend on who the Democrats nominate. I know I won't vote for Trump, there are certain candidates still in the Democratic field I wouldn't vote for either, hence voting third party again. Others, I would vote for and support them. So my 2020 vote all depends on who is the Democratic nominee.

But to answer your question, no, I don't think Trump is a good president. Is he better than Hillary would have been. I don't know, I lumped both into the category of harming this nation so I voted against both. The answer to that is a matter of personal perspectives, ideology and which party one is loyal to.

2016 was a good news, bad news election for me. The good news was Hillary lost. The bad news, Trump won. Will 2020 be another good news, bad news election, that all depends on who the democrats nominate.

Your poll choices do not fit me. I'm Independent because I would and have voted for Republicans and Democrats, as well as 3rd Parties. When it comes to President, unless I feel both are equally mediocre, not what I want for President and neither is going to do true harm by getting elected, which is when I'd vote for an Independent, I would vote for either the Republican or Democrat. In 2016, I felt highly then that Trump would be horrible for this country, so I definitely voted for Clinton (despite some pretty bad things she's done and said).

This time is no different. It would take something huge coming out about any Democrat that was nominated for me to think that they would be just as bad for this country as Trump has shown himself to be. But that doesn't mean come 2024 I wouldn't vote for the Republican, even against whatever Democrat may be President. And I am in a state that has been known to switch over (although not one that was considered one of the three main swing states last election).

I definitely voted for Clinton (despite some pretty bad things she's done and said).
What exactly did she do or say that bothered you so? You do understand that even Trump's DOJ had no choice, but to exonerate her from all the so called "scandals" that plagued her candidacy. It was without a doubt fabricated nonsense.

Over 1000 federal prosecutors have come forward and stated that Trump would have been indicted on at least 10 separate federal charges had he not been the President. That was before this whole Ukraine nonsense. That was before what he did the Kurds. Respect for the United States of America has plummeted around the world thanks to this reckless and irresponsible president. Hillary Clinton was an experienced stateswoman that was respected around the world. She my be imperfect, but I struggle to wrap my head around people who can convince themselves she's even in the same ballpark with this man.

What exactly did Hillary Clinton do to you that could possibly come close to being that bad?

Well it would be if you assume that 9 million Romney voters also voted for Clinton. Given that the entire Bush family voted for Clinton I think its safe to say that Trump turned a lot of former Republicans into Democrats.
