Not really. When you yourself are insanely guilty of the exact thing you're criticizing someone else for it would be wise of you to keep your mouth shut. If nepotism and or using the power of office to secure better outcomes for ones children is a crime that disqualifies a candidate for public office then Donald Trump himself has been disqualified a thousand times over.

Freedom of speech....

Oh, that's right.

It doesn't apply to the "wrong" people.

Rational basis? Like this?

Again, the reason that the Obama administration wanted this prosecutor fired is because he was NOT prosecuting corruption. If you're going to give the Ukrainian Government a billion dollar loan you had better make sure their federal prosecutors are doing their jobs and rooting out corruption. This is the exact opposite of what Joe Biden should have done if he wanted to protect his son from any type of corruption charges.

What you have here is a video of Joe Biden bragging about how he forced Ukraine to do what was in the best interest of the American people as a whole in order to protect the investment that the west was making. AKA exactly what his job was at the time.

This isn't about "nepotism" (you can look up what that means if you don't know).

It's about selling influence.

Why would Joe Biden's son get a high paying job on the board of a Ukranian gas company?

a) he was the most qualified
b) to gain political influence

which one seems plausible?

Freedom of speech....

Oh, that's right.

Freedom of speech does not mean the freedom to say whatever you want whenever you want without consequences. It means the freedom to say whatever you want whenever you want without consequences....FROM THE GOVERNMENT!!!

If Trump and his supporters want to be ****ing morons and argue that Nepotism or using the power of your office to benefit a child is a crime that is their right, but the Voters of this country are going to look at them like they're a bunch of ****ing ass clowns for doing it because Donald Trump him self is so ****ing guilty of that exact crime it's ridiculous.

Ivanka Trump, Jared Kuschner, Don Jr, Eric Trump... literally the only qualifications they have that got them their current jobs are that they're Donald Trump's children. Literally nothing else qualifies them.

The rest of your rant is ignored.

Have a nice ultra-partisan day.

Why would Joe Biden's son get a high paying job on the board of a Ukranian gas company?

a) he was the most qualified
b) to gain political influence

which one seems plausible?

Irrelevant. The relevant questions are these...

1.) Was it a crime for Hunter Biden to accept that job? Answer: No.

2.) Is there any evidence whatsoever to conclude that Hunter Biden's job actually did influence his father's or President Obama's decisions? Answer: No.

No answer me this...

Why would the price of staying at any one of Trump's resorts go up after he was elected President? Why are their fewer vacancies at his hotels and resorts?

A) because the resorts magically got nice once Trump was elected.
B) People want to carry favor with a sitting President

Which one seems more plausible?

But wait...it gets worse. You see Profiting off the Presidency is itself a crime worthy of impeachment. So the fact that Trump didn't put his assets in a blind trust before taking office (which is what every other president in history before him has done) means that he can use the power of his office to make people pay his business more money and generate profit from his presidency.

It does. First we had a whistle blower complain which highlighted an allegedly serious crime being committed by this administration. Then Trump's own dumb ass released a transcript of the phone call which proves the allegation was true. Then Trump publicly broke the law again by asking for help from China and Australia.

This on top of the numerous crimes uncovered during the Mueller Investigation serve as way more than enough justification for this inquiry. In fact, there was more than enough justification for it well over a year ago.

The whistle blower was third party, which didn't fit the definition of whistle blower until the rule was changed after the fact. So conveniently a new whistle blower was found. There are always people willing to "testify" for the cause.

If there was justification a year ago, why not then?

Heh, this is politics not a courtroom, counselor.

There's no plausible reason for Joe Biden's son to have a high paying job as a director of a Ukranian gas company that doesn't involve political influence. Period.

The stink of corruption is all over it.

If you can't smell the stink, you need to work on getting your nostrils better calibrated. It may help you avoid becoming an apologist for the indefensible in the future.

The question shouldn't be about Hunter Biden, but rather whether Joe Biden...and by extension, the Obama administration...engaged in corrupt action for Hunter Biden's gain. Nepotism.

And after a committee finds that there was nepotism in the Obama administration what are you going to do about Ivanka Trump Kushner, Donald Trump Jr. Jared Kushner and others?

A "committee"? LOL!! I don't want a committee. I want a Special Prosecutor with grand jury, subpoena and indictment powers.

Committees are useless.

Hunter Biden is clearly guilty of benefiting from Nepotism. That is not a crime by any means, but it is obviously not ideal to use your parents influence to enrich yourself. In fact, I'd say one of the core underlying problems that Democrats are trying to fight that leads to the types of radical income inequality in this country is Nepotism. Wealthy parents using their wealth and power to insure the success of their children regardless of how dense they may be.

But since Republicans seem to want to bash Joe and Hunter Biden I thought we should do a little roll call check to see who realistically has a right to criticize nepotism from the Republican side of the isle...

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Daughter of Governor Mike Huckabee.
Megan McCain, Daughter of John McCain
Mitt Romney, Son of former Governor George Romney
Ivanka Trump, Daughter of Assclown Donald Trump
Donald Trump Jr, Son of Assclown Donald Trump
Eric Trump, Son of Assclown Donald Trump
Donald Trump son of Fred Trump.
George W Bush, son of George H.W. Bush
Jeb Bush, son of George H.W. Bush
None of the above.

All of them do, because while criticising someone else for doing the sins you are also guilty of is hypocrisy, it's still justifiable as those misdeeds still transpired.

Moreover, the sins of one party, greater or otherwise, don't excuse those of another.

That's the dumbest re-direct I've ever seen. So, you don't want to talk about nepotism any more now that the Trump clan is mentioned. :lamo

We have enough evidence of nepotism resulting from corrupt actions by the Obama administration...and not only involving Biden...to warrant a Special Prosecutor. You cannot say the same about the Trump administration.

Biden's incompetent, and shyster son? Bashing aside, why ask if Hunter could have obtained these lucrative positions without daddy's influence?

Speaking of Nepotism......

John Kennedy - Bobby Kennedy

Certainly not Obese Donald Trump who is without a doubt the worst government nepotist in my lifetime if not in all of our history.

But it wouldn't be so bad if he stuck just to nepotism, but he is grifting off our government in every way, shape and form our Founding Fathers worried could happen with the wrong person at the top. The precautions they thought they built into the Constitution to prevent it from happening never anticipated the chosen one the true King of grifting that is Donald Trump.

Old adage: It's not what you know, it's who you know.

There was nothing wrong with Hunter Biden sitting on a board of directors for a Ukraine gas company. He was one many high profile well connected people that Burisma hired to be on their board to help give the company a better image and attract investments from abroad.

It is often asked what he did on the company board and here's the answer we've all been waiting for....

"KIEV (Reuters) - During his time on the board of one of Ukraine’s largest natural gas companies, Hunter Biden, the son of former U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden, was regarded as a helpful non-executive director with a powerful name, according to people familiar with Biden’s role at the company....

Biden, a trained lawyer, had served on the board of a U.S. company and had also formed an investment firm with fellow Yale graduates Archer and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of former U.S. Senator John Kerry.

Interviews with more than a dozen people, including executives and former prosecutors in Ukraine, paint a picture of a director who provided advice on legal issues, corporate finance and strategy during a five-year term on the board, which ended in April of this year....

According to four sources close to the company, Biden regularly attended Burisma’s twice annual board meetings – all of which were held outside of Ukraine.

A source close to the company said Biden took part in strategic conversations and shared his opinions and experience. In between board meetings, “there were constant calls, dialogue, sharing of advice, consideration of different options,” the source said. “Expansion to other markets was also discussed,” the source added.

Another source close to Burisma said Biden assisted with analysis of oil and gas assets the company was considering buying abroad, though a deal didn’t go through. The company was considering possible acquisitions in Europe, Kazakhstan and the United States, the source and another person close to Burisma said.

Both sources said that around the time Biden was appointed, Burisma was also looking to secure a financing deal with foreign investment funds, including one in the United States.

Biden helped to find lawyers to work on this process, before it broke down due to the start of the war in east Ukraine, one of those two sources said. “He was a ceremonial figure,” that person added...."

A very informative article, I must say.

We have enough evidence of nepotism resulting from corrupt actions by the Obama administration...and not only involving Biden...to warrant a Special Prosecutor. You cannot say the same about the Trump administration.

How about some examples of the corrupt Obama administration's nepotism.

Biden, Kerry, Clinton...to name just a few.

Biden was elected. Clinton and Kerry were both highly qualified for the positions to which they were appointed. Nepotism usually implies a plummy job with little responsibility. Appointing someone Sect'y of State is not nepotism. If it is then all presidents are guilty. Sorry, but the conservative idea that President Obama was corrupt falls into the category of "just plain ignorant"

Nepotism is also people in high places using their position to benefit their relatives.

nepotism

the act of using your power or influence to get good jobs or unfair advantages for members of your own family

NEPOTISM | definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary

Nepotism is also people in high places using their position to benefit their relatives.

I could be wrong but I don't believe that Biden, Kerry and Clinton are relatives of President Obama. Did you think they were?

Most of the names on this list have nothing to do with Nepotism. Someone getting a job for a news outlet or some other company outside your parent's influence is not Nepotism. Just because you gain name recognition because of your parent's fame does not imply nepotism.

Some may think that children working in a family business is nepotism. I don't hold that belief. An example of nepotism is you are a VP at GM and hire your son as a director over more qualified people.

Another example of Nepotism is, I volunteer for a medical mission to Haiti every year. What passes as a hospital over there is a block building with a tin roof and one air conditioned room. The medical waste was disposed of by tossing it in the creek out back. This building was built by Hilary Clinton's brother for a cost of $28 million funded by the Clinton Foundation.

Another example of Nepotism is Chelsea Clinton drawing a salary of $600,000 a year for being on the Board of Directors of the Clinton Foundation.

Both of these are Nepotism because Bill and Hillary used their influence to place relatives in positions where they could profit. However, Chelsea working a correspondent for NBC is not nepotism.
