I didn't mean to word it in such a way as to imply that all democrats are like that. In fact, only about 50% of the delegates at the 2012 democrat convention joined in the effort to cast God and Jews off their Obama platform.

I do not see the irony at all, if you understand why people vote. It is my thesis that people on the individual and on the group level engage in democratic elections for the same reasons that Thucydides observed why people go to war: fear, honor, and interest. If you genuinely fear that the other political side is out to destroy your way of life or wipe away your freedoms, you really cannot be blamed for voting in Satan if Satan is the only one who loudly and proudly says he will defend you.

Which is the reason why our nation is a nation of laws not men. If history were to repeat itself in keeping with your example, the United States of America would cease to exist.

Why exactly, the respect and acceptance of those who do not believe in god must be shown more in the political field and stop people being forced to be religious in order to be elected. No more swearing on the bible but swearing on the constitution for example. No more "do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you god" but more like "do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth".

The removal on it from documents and money is not that important, most the money I spend is plastic, not physical anymore. Swear on the constitution, not the bible, no more whining about a war on christmas, if people do not want to wish each other a blessed christmas so be it.

I voted to keep it on money and documents.

It is interesting how it bothers some people.

You can put your hand on a hundred bibles or a hundred copies of the constitution and still lie. One thing the left never really realize is that criminals don't obey the law and they don't give a crap about lying either. To let them all run around loose because we are embarrassed about our incarceration rate is stupid.

Except you have a wrong view about what the Left thinks. The left knows full well that when it comes to lying criminals and politicians rule LOL.

And the swearing in off suspects is ludicrous. No person should be able to be forced to give witness against themselves so in my country they expect suspects to lie. Prosecuting them for lying is a fools errand. Only witnesses should be sworn in and if they lie they should be prosecuted.

So no, my "tell the truth" bit was not about suspects but about witnesses.

And also, there is a difference between letting them run about and giving ridiculously long punishments for non-violent crimes or relatively minor crimes. We punish our suspects who deserve it for a long time but are able to have a society that is not rife with crime and still not have such a ridiculously high incarceration level.

We should go further than that. We should ban all the politicians from saying God bless America. Can we change the God Bless America song as well?

Someone please explain to me why any reference to God in a speech, on a dollar bill or song would offend you.
