Yes release the transcripts NOW!

And if the left is hellbent on impeaching Trump take a dang vote in Congress and lets get on with it allowing the president the right to due process.

I want the video released.

I would only support that if there are no more selective releases of portions of the testimonies.

There is likely classified information in those transcripts, which would be so heavily redacted as to be meaningless. There will be public testimony later in the process, after the committee members themselves have followed the breadcrumbs being dropped by each new deposition, and come to a conclusion.

Cripes, Nixon's impeachment inquiry took years, because Nixon also stonewalled and obstructed, so congress had to get court orders for every damned piece of paper they subpoenaed. Cool your jets, lol; too many obstructionists determined to keep those who have unfavorable information quiet. It will take as long as it takes; hopefully, courts will expedite congressional actions.

Letting future witnesses know what past witnesses said allows the future witnesses to mold their testimony to what is already known. Still-committed cronies hoping for a pardon would lie to defend Trump and others might be more likely to omit anything that could come back to bite them.

Exactly!

I believe Trump should be impeached. He is clearly not fit for the job, but he also appears to be using the power of his office for his own personal benefit, no matter what that might do to foreign and domestic relationships. However, I will find myself not being able to support impeachment or even further inquiry if the transcripts of testimonies are not released. The Volker testimony should have already been released by now. If it is not released in the next week, I will officially no longer be able to support the inquiry or subsequent impeachment.

What's you opinion? Should impeachment inquiry Congressional testimony transcripts be released to the public? If you vote "no", why do you feel this way?
I'd say "Yes", except in a case where doing so would cause other potential evidence/testimony to become unavailable, or if it endangered sources, etc.

Essentially it boils down to "would it cause more harm to release?"
Which is...by no means an exact measurement.

Never noticed a reason for impeachment, but yes. The best ways to make informed choices, is to have as much information at hand as possible.

Those were different times. We live in a much faster paced world now and such delays will see public opinion sway back away from impeachment. Like it or not, if public opinion begins to drop, there will be no impeachment.

yes, but at the appropriate time. Right now we have two dangers:

1. any released transcripts might impact future depositions
2. they need to be checked for any classified information

The entire process should be done in the open before the american people. The democrats failed miserably in there other attempts to move toward impeachment, so now they want to do things in secrecy. That way of doing business is moving toward how communist countries conduct business in the government. Republican or democrat, Trump supporter or Trump hater, you should expect true transparency in a process designed to remove an elected President from office. This is not a legal matter, it is a political one. In a true legal proceeding the hearsay evidence and opinions of those not directly involved in the events would not be allowed and the accused would have witnesses adn legal counsel present. All those things are being denied by Shifty Schiff and Nancy Pelosi. If they can do it now to the President it's only a matter of time before they do similar things to the citizens of this country.

I am absolutely all for releasing the transcripts, but not until the process is completed.

The process itself is flawed. Democrats are using their raw power of control of the House to curtail the spirit of the law. Yeah the process is following the outline required in the Constitution but not the spirit of fairness that has been followed in the two other impeachment inquiries in the last Century. A vote in the floor of the house and allowing both political parties to participate in the subpeona process. The testimony could still be done in closed session if that's what is insisted upon but then the Presidnets party and his own legal representative could have a part. It's clear the democrats are just trying to railroad the process because they have failed with their previous collusion lies.

Yes, it should be released, although some of it may have to be redacted. Leaking what suits a purpose seems less than fair, misleading at best. Will we see a transcript? Perhaps, but not until the elections are over. Why? I am tempted to think that this "inquiry" is political, is meant to influence the elections, is partisan. No, I am not saying potus is guilty or innocent. We aren't allowed all facts to form an informed opinion.
Being very disappointed and disillusioned by what these dems are doing, husband and I will vote 3rd party once again. We are hoping that many will follow, instead of falling for this farce. Again, this is not about supporting Trump, but being disgusted with what does actually look more and more like a partisan witch hunt.

Sure, Jan. You only whine about the process when it hurts your party.
