I hate Trump. Never voted for him and still wont, but I hope he wins reelection.

Why?

Because despite his glaring faults, he remains head and shoulders above his Democrat opponents- who have gone so far left they ought to walk around with crossed hammers and sickles in their hands.

Its a toss up between the first and last option.


Put it this way...Trump has brought all the crazy that's contained in DC, which has been festering and growing there for some, and thrust it out into the limelight.

It's not easy to leave a cult.

Most Trumpists on this board decided during the Flynn fiasco that they were all in with Trump no matter what.

Now, three years later, they have a body of posts here that ignore/support/defend everything that Donald Trump has done.

They do that even today with Trump imploring Ukraine and China to meddle in our 2020 election. That's not only illegal, it is treasonous.

Their reputations are trashed, but they accepted that when they dived headfirst into the Trump Clown Car.

That's the way I am. I have been a right leaning independent/moderate/centrist who has voted a mix of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents for many years. Didn't vote for Trump in the primaries. Didn't vote for Trump in the general 2016. The Democratic party has shifted way too left for me so, based on the Democratic candidates I have seen so far, I will gladly fill in the Trump bubble in 2020 to stop their crazy left agenda.

I dont support him, and I still wont vote for him. But Democrats are basically the same with worse policy positions. Same narcissism, same corruption, same elitism, same asshole attitudes. But then they go one further by being anti-american in their political ideology.
 
Surprisingly I agree with all of the possible choices to one extent or another. Trump is amazingly entertaining, and he's there to shake things up that desperately need to be shaken up, and some of his policies are sound and..., yeah I'll say it. Still better than Hillary. :lol:

The biggest reason is probably simple tribalism. There's two sides in this country and no one ever crosses the line not even for a minute. If you're on Trump's side then you better ALWAYS be on Trump's side. And if you're 'agin him, then even expressing lukewarm support for this or that policy of his will cause eyebrows to rise among others in your tribe.

Trump is attacking the very foundations of democracy: the rule of law and a free press.

When the so called free press (I call them partisan press) attacks Trump and his administration 24/7 do think he should just take it. Actually all the press is doing is giving Trump free time and making the left go crazy. The the press and liberals can't get him out of their heads. Sure he retaliates on tweeter but left/MSM shy away from the left attacking Trump supporters almost every day, just for eating in restaurants and wearing a MAGA hat. Antifa gets a free pass for beating up anyone who disagrees with them...they remind me of the Nazi brown shirts.

First of all, please explain how any of that has destroyed our country. Second of all, trust in the press has been declining for decades. Americans already know the press can't be trusted. The left have attacked both the FBI and the CIA before in the past. You didn't seem to think that destroyed our country. A traitor is in the eyes of the beholder. If it is proven the deep state is out to take down a legitimately elected sitting president then, yes, the so called whistleblowers are traitors. We still have the rule of law in this country and a free press so I don't see where Trump has destroyed our country. Don't you watch the news every night? It is anti-Trump after anti-Trump after anti-Trump so, apparently, we still have the free press.

Note blind partisan, but who have the Democrats put up? Someone who's pushing "democratic socialism", who anti-gun, etc. Yea that's a nope. As the Democrats keep going further and further left they leave more and more people behind.
