Sexual Orientation, the countdown to equal rights, when will it happen?

When will equal rights for sexual orientation be nationally protected?

1.) You said things need to be done at the national level, not the states.
2.) What needs to be done?
3.) That usually suggests the national government needs to take action, but hasn't. That usually implies new legislation.
4.) If not legislation, then what specifically are you getting at?
5.) I'm trying to play nice
6.) but your answer sounds like an evasion.
7.) So, once again; what specific legislation do you want? What would it look like?
8.) If not legislation, what actions?

1.) correct
2.) maybe what the poll question asks?
3.) nah thats just what you assumed
4.) i wasnt, again that was your assumption
5.) i dont care how you play, much to my delight, you will lose when you play based on assumptions
6.) and another factually wrong assumptions, holy **** you are on a roll!!! nope just pointing out facts
7.) so ill ask YOU again, specifically who said it would new legislation?

I accept your surrender.

Need to add a poll option for "it already happened 4 years ago with Obergefell v. Hodges".

well on avg that is probably true . . though again though they arent alone in their motivation for equal rights they dont feel directly effect them sadly

Gee possibly some feel the same about Homosexual Rights as others feel about Gun Rights.

I accept your surrender.

Translation: your made up assumptions got owned, you cant defend it or quote me saying the stuff you made up so you deflect and dodge

thats what I thought!
in the future simply dont make up such assumptions and your posts wont fail so hard, youre welcome!

Obergefell v. Hodges did no such thing
i totally support it but it did no such thing hence all the other bills etc that have happened since then

im sure that is very true, you can tell by the way "some" people talk about guns . . .clueless because they have no clue about them and dont care about rights.
they would gladly implement something that only punishes law abiding citizen endangering them while empowering the criminals and not really doing anything to stop them

BUT this isnt a gun thread so take it to the gun forum, thanks!

I am just pointing out not everyone supports the same causes. Many of us think your lifestyle is your business. I don't need your support to conduct my lifestyle, if you think you need mine to conduct yours, that is your problem.

Passing laws to appease the butt hurt is a fools errand.

I think the young people planning to never have babies will make all sex illegal.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around "protected groups" and "equality under the law."

1.) yes i agree but i find it sad when fellow americans dont protect and or fight for the rights of others especially against vile bigotry.
2.) i think most people think that way, i know i certainly do but this isn't about that, this is about stopping bigots that WANT to be involved how you conduct your lifestyle and protecting all of our rights.
3.) did say you did, seem you are very confused on this topic
4.) also something never said
5.) i agree good thing again this has nothing to do with that. ,again are you actually reading what is wrote here or are you just making it up in your head as you go along? try to stay on topic, thanks!

2.) whats your confusion on that very simple issue?

When will equal rights for sexual orientation be nationally protected?

0-2 years?
3-5 years?
6-8 years?
9-10 years
10+
Never

LIke with equal marriage rights the road wasn't over night. While it was a great victory, one that i was so happy to witness with my own eyes more equal rights victories are happening all the time.

Like i always said about equal marriage rights, there was a time when i thought it would never happen in my life time. Then that changed with a couple cases and bigots overstepping way too far helping equal rights spread. It was then i KNEW it would happen in my life time. Their persistent bigotry is what helped it! Try to force their views on others and treating them as lessers paved the way!

Well now another injustice will be fixed in my live time and national protections for sexual orientation is on its way. My personal prediction is 2-6 years but at the most I say 10.

Right now whether the discussion is about housing, employment or public accommodations at least 20 states protect sexual orientation already. Theres court cases with more on the way. Many major cities and or counties in side the states that dont do and the vast majority of 91% of fortune 500 companies. (83% for gender identity which is amazing considering it was only 3 in 2000)

You can't change DNA. It's just make believe.

Why is it less awful to kill a guy you hate because he's an @$$hole, rather than some guy you hate because he likes the @$$hole?

what??? LMAO what on gods green earth are you talking about
I see why you are VERY confused as murder has nothing to do with "protected groups" and "equality under the law."

Hate crime statutes for protected groups.

Hate crime statutes for protected groups.

Hate crimes? what confuses you about that?

oh wait . . i see . . you dont actually know what protected groups are do you? now its clear. (probably not hater crimes either)

tell us what you THINK a protected group is . . name some

We will get civil rights inclusion in the amended 1964 civil rights act, when we pretty much no longer need it. The dinosaurs are dying off and by the time the Senate provides a philibuster majority for the bill, it won't be nearly as pressing. One of the ironies of these laws is the jurisdictions which least need them like New York, and the west coast states, have the political capacity to pass them, while the jurisdictions that most need inclusion against discrimination like the southern states, are the same ones who vote in politicians who oppose them.

Hate crimes = race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, etc., which is like everyone, yet, "In this case the hate crime statute will apply."

"Uh, yeah, I killed him because he was a fa... um ... I mean a Ford owner." Not a hate crime. Add a G and that's 10 extra years. Kind of dumb.

Discrimination = all of the above, plus age, pregnancy, whistle-blowers which is like everyone 2.0, but yet we have this thread.

 Yes, confused.

1. Who is the vile bigot? The person who follows their religious conscious or those who condemn them for doing so?
2. Someone criticizing your lifestyle is not infringing on your rights. If others find your lifestyle repugnant, live with it. They don't have to like what you do and you don't have to like what they do. This is America.
3. Just because I disagree does not mean I am confused.
4. Perhaps you are confused. People wanting laws for crimes that don't exist is a waste of time. I have not seen one incident where homos were denied sex with their partners.
5. No this is totally on topic. Several on this board want laws to protect their lifestyle. It is no different than changing gun laws because less than 1% of gun users abuse their gun rights.

1.) very good protected groups are ALL OF US!!!! you are learning!
2.) in what case?? you've gone off the rails again
3.) no you mention "discrimination"???? how did that come up from "protected groups" and "equality under the law."
4.) yes we do have this thread . . how are they related or does that not make sense in your mind?
5.) yep you certainly keep proving that fact

1.) no one in particular in this case but people that discriminate against race, religioni, gender, sexual orientation etc in matters like housing, public accommodations etc
2.) youll have to be more specific.
3.) holy **** there you go again . . who said it was? are you just gonna continue to make stuff up? where are you getting all these silly straw man. What posts are you reading?
4.) aaaaand another failed straman nobody said
5.) i agree but you the reason why you are confused is because you are crying and babbling about stuff that nobody said and that has nothing to do with this topi. Thats just a fact. If you disagree then simply quote who said the nonsens you made up.
6.) nope fact are all on my side
7.) I agree again you just proved how confused you are because this thread has nothing to so with that anybody thinkin it does is SERIOUSLY confused and factually wrong
8.) again please quote where anybody said people are being denied sex:lamo why are you just making up lies?
9.) facts prove you wrong, deny it if you like but facts dont care about your feelings
10.) wrong again, quote them who are they
11.) this thread is completely different thanks again for proofing how factually confused you are.

now you can try to have a honest conversation or continue my entertainment and just keep making stuff up and ill continue to exposes it, choice is yours

Not when it comes to equal rights for everyone in the country. Remember that little thing called the Civil War?

One of the greatest con jobs of all times. A bunch of rich plantation owners convinced a bunch of poor folk who couldn't afford shoes, to fight for their property, other human beings. Then another bunch of rich industrialists with spoiled idealistic daughters, convince a bunch of poor immigrants who they preyed upon for cheap labor, to go fight for their right to send black folk back to Africa. Yeah, got it. The most barbaric modern war to have taken the greatest number of lives until that time. The introduction of the machine gun for killing people. Look at how destructive our new artillery can be. Great reference point. Burn, baby burn took on a whole new meaning.

Gee possibly some feel the same about Homosexual Rights as others feel about Gun Rights.

Two entirely different issues. No one discriminates against gun owners. They are not treated as second class citizens. Gun ownership is a choice, sexual orientation is not.
