For Those NOT Lifetime NRA Members - O'Rourke's Comment

O'Rourke's words were

I realize this won't matter to some, but I'd prefer that those of you who are die-hard, when you pry my cold dead hands off it, gun loving lifetime NRA members, that you'd refrain from responding to this thread and/or poll. We all already know how you'll respond. I'm looking for the thoughts of those who are not so predictable.

I want to know how the "regular" folks in America have reacted to Beto O'Rouke's comment in Debate #3.

You know, this one:

Do you find it frightening?
Intriguing?
Refreshing?
Alarming?
Anti-American?
Unconstitutional?
Brave?
Ignorant?

Something else?

If you're not one of the 6-12 folks we have here who go ballistic at the mere mention of gun control I'd like to know:
What are your thoughts on his comment?

Are you scared it might be the catalyst for 4 more years of Trump and Republican dominance?
Or do you believe most of the American public is ready for an approach that radical?

The killings in Texas were still stinging and O'rourke simply had an angry emotional outburst: ya'cant blame him.

Voted Other: stupid and shortsighted

I recommend buying some broken, nearly worthless firearms in order to profit from gun buyback programs when they happen.

Voluntary buy backs are fine with me. Mandatory ones are not.

Voted Other: stupid and shortsighted

So he wasn't still upset over the shootings that a short time ago took place very close to him?

One thing I DID noticed (the day after), was how Rush and the other assorted liars started with: "He wants to take our guns!!!!" Same ol' lying, bullsh## meant to stir up the people that should know better.

Robert literally said, "Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15"...lol

My vote is OTHER.

I would say "problematic". It excites the Democratic voters, but not really practical. AK-47s are pretty much banned in our society. You need a special license to obtain them. AR-15s are popular among gun owners. They are light-weight and are easy to hit targets. These guns are used for both sport and to defend ones home. I would much rather O'Rourke and the Dems talk about gun licensing and addressing mental health and our background check system.

So he wasn't still upset over the shootings that a short time ago took place very close to him?

Why is that an excuse? He has his sights set on the future. If he cant control his emotions...separate what's emotion and what's actual need...I'm not convinced he can do so handling nuclear arms (for one example).

And please dont circle back to the Mango Moron in the Whitehouse.

If there were gun buyback programs and that was a law and gun owners refused to hand in their guns but fought back. They would no longer be law abiding citizens.

These people were for slavery, segregation, and against paying taxes. Yet they all do them now.

You are clearly talking about liberals.

there's probably no need to institute blanket bans. Voluntary buybacks with licensing restrictions could start at the same time; gun show sales loopholes could be closed and eventually the presence of such weapons heavily reduced in the market. No need to just literally grab everyone's guns. It could be a ten-year project and still save many lives.

go for it!

what loophole?

I think his chances of becoming president were slim and none, and he just shot slim in the back of the dead with his "take them away" statement.

It is interesting how many Democrats are ignoring this poll.

It was nothing more than a desperate attempt to get noticed and remain relevant.

Yes. He knew he could try to get a leg-up after the shooting in El Paso. A "how can I use this for political gain?" thought.

Yeah, I can. He's running for President, we don't need another angry, emotional dipshi* in the Oval Office.

 Not catching your limit with this bait, eh?

It’s also interesting that all of these Democratic-bashers deny that they’re an R.

It could be almost any of the choices. I voted frightening because I don't know who he meant by "we" are going to take…

other : the comments were dumb.

there is one issue in this election, and that's getting Anus P. McPuckerface voted out of office. stirring up the grumpy old boomstickers into a frenzy isn't going to help. win first.

This Nation has always been at Civil War with itself, unless we’re at war with someone else, or both.

How does the tiki torch figure ion this? He's an idiot, but is not in O'rourke's reaction to mass shootings in his own home town.

I guess when Ben Laden crashed the twin towers nobody should have gotten upset. And who said I was even interested in him as president of anything?

He's not going to be president, or are you projecting something that's not going to happen? And since you're a conservative, don't talk about incompetence and emotion and sociopathic behavior ion the White House.

Are you doing the Groucho Marx "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?" joke, HIP56948?

Unless AR-15s stopped being guns, Beto O'Rourke made no bones about wishing to take people's guns. This is not alarmism on Rush Limbaugh's part.

I just read your signature. You do know that the fantasy would only last till the woman finds a man with a washer and dryer and dishwasher.

I do live that way - woodland swamp on the Natural West Coast of Florida to be exact - but we do have washer, dryer, and dishwasher. This area is called "Paradise" by those of us who live around here.
