The media: Bernie will raise taxes on everyone to pay for medicare for all. LOUD & CLEAR: The amount you will pay in taxes is LESS than what you already pay in monthly premiums, copays, etc. The majority of people will save money under Medicare for All. #TellTheDamnTruth #Bernie2020 #MedicareForAll

Free health care, free college, higher minimum wage

And all for less money than we're paying now?

My vote: 'need more info'

However, we will definitely save tons of money by going with a public option medicare program.

In the long run, probably. But no one ever thinks about the long-term in politics.

I'd rather pay the taxes I pay now and pay the health care costs I pay now than pay increased taxes to cover the cost of other people's health care.

Make no mistake...under Bernie's plan everyone WILL pay more in taxes than they do now.

No we won’t, what are you talking about? You have no evidence for this and no reason to trust whoever claims that. There is no government entitlement program that ever goes down in cost

Hope you like 35 dollar diner meals and 15 dollar draft beers and 50% income taxes and $7 gas like they pay in Norway

And far less in healthcare costs.

Add the ability to buy "upgrades" and everybody can get what they want.

(Well, not everybody. Private insurerers and pharmaceutical companies will have competition so their profits will go down. Such is life.)

Yep, just like it is in Vermont - loads of free stuff and lower taxes too. Oh wait... Vermont has the 4th highest state taxation and somehow lacks that free stuff for all.

The Koch brothers agree with you.

Yep, the US has such low DoD costs because it is under a single-payer system which has been in place for a very long time - look it up.

Hmm... I need more info on that (bolded above) assertion.

It works great for the rest of the Western world, in order for it to work you need economies of scale, something which the US seems to refuse to allow even for things like Medicare. The US also refuses to actually take costs seriously.

Take drug prices for example, instead of buying drugs from other countries that regulate their prices, maybe just regulate prices in the US and allow price negotiation.

From the govt that has ****ed over vets and 9/11 responders and we still think it’s a good idea to let them provide healthcare for everyone. You’re right about one thing it will be cheap...

IF we do pay less for medicare for all, we will sacrifice the quality of healthcare.
That's something leftists won't ever come around to admitting.

Are you kidding me? Some of our brightest POTUS candidates are now promising free medical care for illegal immigrants - that is about as serious as it gets.

Bernie's socialist agenda will cost American Taxpayers an estimated $3.1 TRILLION per year for all the "free" stuff.

It would crush us.

Private insurance overhead & profit is far higher than government administration of our healthcare programs. You are wrong.

A government program that saved money? There's no such thing.

Wether you like it or not they cost the US healthcare system and taxpayers money regardless, integrating them officially in the system would probably lower costs. Not to mention the risk to public health if illegals avoid medical care and treatment. It is soemthing that has to be analyzed.

Because you have to measure them in other ways you can't just do a pure profit analysis on government finances to measure it. Take subsidized day-care in Quebec, sure it is expensive on paper and makes some money back through increased payroll taxes but the benefit to the economy by saving families money outweighs its cost.

We're talking about government spending vs. tax revenue and whether, or not we'll have to pay more taxes. In this discussion, there's no other way to look at it.

Private business shouldn't have to compete with the federal government.
