Trump soaked in the crowd chants in NC last night. He has said he ‘wasn’t happy” with the chants.
What are the chances that the next time an inappropriate chant breaks out, Trump tries the John McCain approach?

I think he will dial it back. It’s fun, but it’s bar talk.

He could? But I don't know Hopefully calmer heads will prevail and a chant like that won't happen again.

“I disagree with it… I felt a little bit badly about it… I was not happy with it, I disagree with it”
President Donald Trump

We have officially entered Orwellian land when Big Brother created the chant, incited his rabid base, and then says he isn't happy that they chanted it...

While he basked in the crowd for 10-13 seconds, sorry rings hollow.

Strange that he doesn't regret lying about a Congressperson to paint them a terrorist. Nice personal responsibility. "It's the crowd's fault". There is no buck.

I think that he'll likely do what he did this time, pause for awhile and let the chant build on its own.

Guess all I would say is it's easy for us right now read and seeing what happened. 10 seconds is not that long?
It's the armchair quarterback... always much easier to call the play after the fact.

Doesn’t sound like much; stopwatch it out!

Also watch the clip where Trump expresses his displeasure.

He must understand that this hurt him. What he does next time will depend on how the wind is blowing.

Either he is bipolar or has dementia.

What is must be for the Trump team. First they say it was fake twitter about his statement of sending them back. Then they all agreed with his sentiment. Now saying it wrong to chant that.

Trump is such a coward.

His base loves this kind of stuff, but like always he betrays his base.

He's going to lose in 2020, and it's not going to be close.

13 seconds, if you want to be exact. He basked in the chant for 13 seconds, and resumed speaking when the chanting died down. Afterwards, he lied and claimed that he started speaking "very quickly" to stop the chanting.

And of course it's his own statements that inspired their chants.

Trump is gaslighting...he didn't do a damned thing AT THE TIME to discourage his rabid malcontents, and now he is pretending that he was bothered by it (with a smirk on his face)

Democratic politicians have called President Trump every possible hateful insult possible and many high profile Democrats have called for the President's death. Nancy Pelosi personally knowingly broke the law and House rules to push a formal declaration by the House of Representatives to call the President a racist.

Trump came to Pelosi's side declaring she's not a racist. In response, Pelosi literally knowingly, deliberately and willfully abused her office and position to break House rules to rant as loudly as possible that Trump is a racist - which is a lie.

The Democratic Party prides itself on now being as opposed to the rule of law, civility, and overall as anti-social and anti-American as possible. The Democratic Party continuously markets hatred, violence and anarchy.

I can't help but think the same thing. I've always laughed when anyone is said to be orwellian other than NK leadership. It's just so far out there. And while Trump is no where near NK levels, he's pushing hard to try get on the scale. We are constantly being asked to believe 2 opposing things simultaneously, the exact definition of double think. We are constantly being asked to forget exactly what we just saw.

During the rally, Trump went on a 20-minute diatribe about the four, saying they were welcome to leave the country if they do not like his policies on issues such as immigration and defending Israel. Trump thinks that his vilification of the four will be a key part of his strategy for winning re-election in 2020. But I think the strategy will backfire and there is no point in picking on minor political figures, who should have been unknown to us without his tweets about them.

From Trump’s lips:

Trump to veterans: Don’t believe what you’re reading or seeing

Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?

What a shameless liar. He was basking in it. Worked them up to a fever pitch attacking Omar, paused his comments to let the chant reach full volume and only proceeded after it had died down. The man simply has no shame, and of course his fans will ignore what they saw on video, and believe the lies.

He coined the phrase himself. He struck his Mussolini pose as they said it. Yesterday, his supporters were telling us what a great strategy it is.

The lying is the point.

He should have shut it up right then and there. But as a narcissist and a racist, he reveled in it and wasn't about to do that.

This is the first time I have seen this, but you are spot on! When Trump ”peacocks”, turning left and right, soaking up the adulation of his supporters, it is eerily reminiscent of 1930s Italy!
