Did the “send her back” chant go too far?

Trump should have done what the now-oh-so-hated John McCain did when one of his events got out of hand, and put a stop to ignorance when it happens. He stood back and basked in the glory. He encourages that crap. He wanted that to happen. A decent man would stand up there like all good leaders do, and talk about how great the country is and his accomplishments and inspire people. Not Trump. He relishes this nonsense. I don't care what kind of fake walk back they are trying to do today. It was wrong, it was disgusting, and it make the Republicans look absolutely dreadful and hopeless. It's textbook Trump.

And how did that work out for John McCain?

You mean the guy that no Republicans like anymore because Trump didn't like him? He lost the election. So you're saying he should have allowed some ignorant woman to make a false claim against Obama. Got it.

McCain should have disavowed the GOP before he died. Years of service, only to have a piece of filth like Trump take it over and have morons supporting his hatred and ignorance and chanting in NC about a Congresswoman from another district being "sent back" to the country she left many years ago.

Reagan is rolling in his grave. I'm glad I left the Republican Party. I'm ashamed of what it's become. Indecent filth.

I liked McCain. I’ve said that since I first started. I also remember the mean spirited stuff hurled at him when he ran, so a lot of what I see now about what a great guy he was seems incredibly disingenuous (not on your part, Tres).

I remember the mean spirited **** our President hurled at him, and the mean spirited **** many of the Trump fans on this board hurled at him before, during and after his death. McCain was a wonderful man, and worth 100000000 of that lying perverted cowardly fraud Trump.

And no presidency.
His correcting a supporter about an opponent
did not cause the 08 election to go Obama's way, the loss can be clearly laid upon a rejection of the GOP and Bush.

He had a lot of faults, I never voted for him throughout his being a Senator from my state, but he kept most of his integrity, which the current POTUS and most of the GOP has lost.

Many of the people that hold McCain out as this hero now do so because he went after Trump. Had he been a Trump supporter, McCain’s “service” wouldn’t mean squat now.

So that’s why Repubs should try to gain the good graces of Dems? So you’ll say something nice once they’re dead? Most would rather have the White House, thank you very much.

And what price would people be willing to pay in order to win?

First, I have to add a couple of exclamation points to my yes answer....'YES!!'

Secondly, Trump loved it, he enjoyed the chant and only started speaking after 13 full seconds of chanting and it had subsided, that's when he began speaking again.

Trump is a desperate man, so he is even more dangerous than he was a couple of weeks ago. Now with the release of the unredacted FBI report regarding Trump being an 'unnamed co-conspirator' to campaign fraud, he is now a named conspirator. If he wasn't president right now he'd be in the same prison with Michael Cohen. Once he's no longer president, all bets are off and he's fair game for the FBI, the SDNY or any other prosecutorial agency.

So yeah, when it gets closer to election 2020, he's going to be getting far more dangerous than he's been so far. Don't be surprised if he gets us into a war.

Classic straw, integrity and dignity are something a person should hold FOR THEMSELVES, not to appease anyone.

So you’ll say something nice once they’re dead?
I said both positive and negative about the man after his death, why can't you read?

Most would rather have the White House, thank you very much.
Again, he did not lose in 08 because he corrected a dumb supporter, I already corrected you on this false premise.

You tell me. Is there anything that would lose your support for the Dem candidate, whoever that turns out to be?
I think the relevant question is whether you are going to vote for Drumpf in '20?

Sweet, but it didn’t win him anything.
False, it made me respect him more.

He surprised me at the end of his career, much like Goldwater did. Goldwater accepted that gays should be able to serve in the military..... McCain's support for the ACA and his comments to Klobuchar:

"I sat on that stage between Bernie and John McCain, and John McCain kept reciting to me names of dictators during that speech because he knew more than any of us what we were facing as a nation," Klobuchar said. "He understood it. He knew because he knew this man more than any of us did."

McCain recited dictator names at Trump's inauguration, says Klobuchar - Business Insider

All I can picture is a "burn her" chant at a witch trial.

And no presidency.

Winning an election is an acceptable price for one's integrity and doing the right thing for the country?

Trump believes so, but he's a narcissist, and integrity is a foreign concept to him, neither good nor bad, just not relevant to anything. This morning he lied, he knew he was lying and he did it with an ease that was as natural to him as breathing.

Like his "service" meant nothing to our President, I suppose.

The problem with supporting Trump is he requires his followers to in important ways surrender their integrity, and the sacrifice isn't appreciated. Lots of people defended him after Sunday's Tweets and he IMMEDIATELY made fools of them in that rally.
