President Donald Trump in his tweets has criticized the Democratic congresswomen by using racist language and asked them to go back to their broken and crime-infested countries. A President can talk like that. What do you feel about his comments?

Telling natural born Americans to "go back to their country" because they have a non-white heritage is absolutely disgusting, objective racism. His supporters that view non-whites as non-Americans no doubt love his dramatic departure from civility and lack of respect for our Constitution.

Trump's comments are awesome. He told them to go back, fix their crappy countries of origin, then come back and show America how it's done.

Fix Somalia, then you're in a better position to tell America that it sucks. Better yet, get a white man on the squad to be 'inclusive' and 'diverse'.

AOC was born in the bronx. The US is her country of origin.

And she is trying to fix it

Trump did not use "racist language". He did not tell "natural born Americans" to do anything.

Seriously, you two should get off that Trump-hating media you are addicted to. It's rotting your brains...making you believe lies. You deserve better for yourselves.

Anyway, in response to the poll, I neither agree nor disagree with what Trump tweeted because I understand WHY he made those tweets. I understand his purpose for making those tweets. That is what's important. Not the content of the tweets.

Don't get so caught up with the rhetoric. Look to the motivation and the goal.

And please...don't make **** up.

Trump was wrong to think all the disgruntled anti-American women of color came from foreign countries. Their hearts and their recent ancestors may have belonged to barbarian countries with venomous hatred for America, but several of them were actually born in America. It may take several generations to get the inbred hatred for America out of their bloodlines, however.

Go back to your country is not telling them to do something?

If you listen to what these women have said about Trump and America, over the past few months, I would say Trump still owes them a few more insults, just to make it even. Trump does not play by the left wing dual standards. The media tried to impose the dual standard, but Trump doubled down instead of cave. Trump is a counter puncher and does not attack unless attacked first.

Trump needs to go back to his own country if he cant take the heat here.

He didn't say that to any natural born Americans.

Seriously...did you even read his tweet?

Yep I did. He told AOC to go back and fix her own country.....which happens to be the US

What on earth makes you think he told AOC to do anything? Did he mention her name?

What part of "And please...don't make **** up." do you not understand?

You are dismissed.

You are the only person on the planet who do not think his tweets were directed at 4 women of color one of them being AOC.

My God that is hilarious.

You lose. Lol

FYI, the below is the sum of all his tweets.

"So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!"

Do you work for CNN, MSNBC, WaPo, or Media Matters?

If you're asking for an opinion in a poll, you shouldn't give away your bias in the question.

I read the tweets directly and it's abundantly clear to everyone that doesn't have a racist agenda that what he said is blatantly racist. Telling Americans who were born here to "go back to their own country" is objectively racist. Trump sees minority women so he immediately thinks of them as foreigners.

You're demanding we ignore what he actually said and instead imagine what his intentions might have been. That's a pathetic attempt at redirection by someone with an obvious agenda. Words matter.

Why do you think Omar doesn't care about the people in the country she was born in?

His latest racist idiocy hasn't changed my opinion of him much. I still consider him to be a national disgrace pretty much like before.

They were born here so how could they go back to" the country they're originally from"? And by the way, as congresswomen it is literally their job to say how America could be better run.

You've somehow managed to turn all criticism of Trump's policies into anti-American hate rhetoric. Conservatives never disagreed with the Obama administration, did they?

Trump did not tell anyone born here to go back to their own country.

The only people who allow themselves to believe that's what he said are people with a racist agenda...and Trump has masterfully flushed the lot of you out of the woodwork.

1. Trump is a racist.
2. That statement is not objectively racist. For example, it is completely plausible that Trump had heard at some time the data point that Ilhan Omar was born in Somalia, and is simply dumb enough to have applied "all these crazy new democrat women are therefore from somewhere not America" logic to the entire bunch. It's entirely possible that he took a look at them and said "Yup, all brown", but that is not required by his statement.

Never attribute blanketly to malice, that which is more explainable via stupidity.

It was actually incredibly stupid on two different levels - first, it's own, direct stupidity, and second, it sucked oxygen out of the fight between Pelosi her Democrats v AOC and her Twittercrats. When AOC's chief of staff took to describing Democrats - some of whom were African American - to 1940's Segregationists, the entire GOP should have just decided to shut up for a while, and let the Democrats suffer under the same bad-faith racial accusations and counter-accusations that they've slung at Republicans for decades.

But, Trump has a constitutional inability to shut up, even when it's in his own interest. So, instead, he said something incredibly stupid and offensive, re-united the warring sides of the Democrat party, and even probably helped immunize the same people he wanted to attack from actual criticism by those who would be most effective at it - other Democrats.

intentions might have been.

 intentions matter. A Hindu who uses a swastika intends something very different than a neo-Nazi who uses a swastika, and so their intention means that what they are saying with the same symbol is nonetheless different.

Yes he did. What congresswomen specifically was he talking to then? List the names. I assume you're one of the people who asks minorities where they're from and when they say "America" you ask "No, where are you REALLY from?"

Also, since when does criticizing policy X of our country mean you hate it? We heard conservatives whine for 8 straight years under Obama about how it was being run and how they'd rather have it, that was all hate for America on your side right?

So, are you arguing that Trump thinks that America under his Administration is a complete and total catastrophe, the most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world?

Interesting.

Personally, I'd say it looks like he's talking about Somalia, where Ilhan Omar is originally from, and is just a freaking idiot, and applied that status to all of them, but, hey, you do you. :)
