Background:

Meghan Murphy was banned from twitter after misgendering transgender activist Jessica Yaniv. She then filed a lawsuit against twitter for deceptive trade practices and breach of contract.

Feminist Banned By Twitter Fires Back With Lawsuit | The Daily Caller

The final straw for Twitter was a tweet in which Murphy referred to a transgender activist, Jessica Yaniv, as “him.” Murphy’s tweet included a screenshot of a review that Yaniv posted for a waxing salon, under the previous name, “Jonathan Yaniv,” which is still listed on Yaniv’s Twitter profile.

“In the past year, Yaniv has filed 16 different human rights complaints against female estheticians from across Canada for refusing to perform Brazilian waxes on Yaniv due to Yaniv having male genitalia,” Murphy’s lawyers wrote in court documents reviewed by TheDCNF.

In an email to TheDCNF, Yaniv called it “totally untrue that ALL of the complaints are involving Brazilian waxing and that they are women’“working from their homes’ because as such, many of these are retail salons. Also, she, nor the lawyer knows about my genitalia, nor is it applicable because as you know, I am legally a female.

The court sides with Twitter in the law suit. Meghan says she will file an appeal.

This journalist lost her lawsuit against Twitter for banning her account, but she’s not giving up

Statement from one of Meghan's lawyers Adam Candeub.

Twitter Gets Another Significant Section 230 Win in Lawsuit by Suspended User-Murphy v. Twitter - Technology & Marketing Law Blog
Today, the Superior Court of San Francisco dismissed a user’s lawsuit against Twitter, effectively ruling that the social media giant may break its promises to users or advertisers with impunity. The court’s overbroad interpretation of Communications Decency Act Section 230 gives internet platforms sweeping immunity from suit, even for violating their own contracts and flouting their own promises to users and advertisers. We intend to appeal this ruling, and will continue to seek to protect the rights of consumers in the social media world….

In rejecting Twitter’s anti-SLAPP action pursuant to its public interest exception, the Court joins a growing chorus recognizing the centrality of social media to public discourse—and the importance to the public of adjudicating legal claims against the major social media platforms.

Twitter claims the tweet Meghan made broke there Hateful Conduct Policy. I'm not going to post an archive of the tweet but I will post a screenshot of the public court documents that describe the tweet.

It(twitter) then banned her permanently after she asserted that transgender women in Canada formerly named Jonathan Yaniv is"the man responsible for trying to extort money from estheticians who refuse to give him a brazilian bikini wax," asked why the media and courts are "protecting this guy's identity."

That doesn't sound like hateful conduct to me, it sounds like she was trying to warn the public.

What say you fine citizens?

I think Murphy should've been allowed to keep her account.

She actually did nothing wrong, because one could probably dig up about 20 or so post from other twitter users, though less prominent ones. Who got to keep their accounts and probably said far more abhorrent things.

The people that work for Twitter are ****ing idiots, They could of just ran the guys name on face book and seen why Meghan was posting that info. Tons of people complain about the guy and nobody does anything. Twitter gives these people special treatment.

Given how Twitters current rules are biased against conservatives in general, it shows that their basing their rules on a stance that's more akin to identity politics.

Though we've seen recently that the calls for censorship have begun to affect more than just the right now and eventually it's just going to be a rampant clown bag of people getting banned for arbitrary reasons.

That's the sad part, no one that deserves to have their account blocked will be affected. But thanks to are boy Johnny abusing Self ID laws, LGBTQ+ acceptance, and hueman rights tribunals to launch frivolous lawsuits. Twitter is going to be under a lot of scrutiny, when people start reporting on Johnny's online activities and they find out twitter didn't block his account after harassing people IRL or threatening users online.

Canada and their compelled speech. Ridiculous.
If you dare say "Hey, remember Bruce Jenner?" you'd have to get "re-education".

Biased against conservatives? I got put in Twitter jail because I told Geraldo he was a washed-up has been, whose career never recovered after the Al Capone fiasco.

My offense was "hate speech." Trying to figure out how that was hate speech, as it didn't cover his race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.

Total bull****, its not biased against conservatives, its biased against racists, trolls, idiots spreading hate. And those tend to be conservatives.

Just like how education, universities, science, media, the entire world is not biased against conservatives, its just that conservatives believe in made up things and don't like reality and facts

Are you sure it wasn't hateful conduct? Twitter Changes their TOS a lot and they may retroactively apply it to post.

I personally don't see anything wrong with your tweet. I mean it's dickish but so is everyone else on twitter.

They specifically said "hate speech." I went back and looked at the hate speech parameters, and I didn't fall into any of them.

And Twitter is about the only place I can be dickish, so there's that.

I found the "hate speech"
I got put in Twitter jail because I told Geraldo he was a washed-up has been.

From Wikipedia;
Rivera was born at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, New York, the son of Lillian (née Friedman; October 16, 1919 – June 3, 2018) and Cruz "Allen" Rivera (October 1, 1915 – November 1987), a restaurant worker and cab driver respectively.[3][4] Rivera's father was a Puerto Rican Catholic, and his mother was of Russian Jewish descent. He was raised "mostly Jewish" and had a Bar Mitzvah ceremony.[6][7]

You can't call anyone of Hispanic descent "washed up", their parents might of had to swim here.

That's very racist and unbelievably anti semtic… in other words, their bias is showing.

That's not what I meant by "washed up," and I think we all know this (Twitter included).

This is rich. A person with male genitals is somehow a woman? Seems to me you can make whatever claim you like as to gender but science will not support sex choice by altering your physical appearance through surgery.

Do you want clarification?

Twitters rule on miss gendering someone. Something that plenty of conservatives, don't even really believe in. If you were a man and changed to a woman, most would still consider you a man.

So twitters miss gendering rule, wouldn't be spread from an ideological point of view?

Seeing as conservatives generally believe in there only being two genders and there are those now that have been banned from twitter. For simply referring to a transgender person, by the wrong pronoun.

...You know I'm starting to wonder how you actually have any social media profiles at all. Which would be a much greater mystery if the whole of the internet operated with such a bias.

Accusations fly at human rights hearing into transgender woman’s Brazilian wax complaint | National Post

The tribunal heard that Da Silva shut down her salon business after her encounter with Yaniv.

Women warned you: Yaniv's human rights case is the inevitable result of gender identity ideology

Women warned the media, politicians, activists, and the public about the repercussions of gender identity ideology and legislation, and now that those repercussions are being played out in real time, those warned remain silent.

Oddly, everything we have said is true. And oddly, those responsible are saying nothing.

Trans Woman Shutters Immigrant’s Business For Refusing To Wax Male Genitalia | The Daily Caller

Meghan Murphy tweeted: “Is it true that the man responsible for trying to extort money from estheticians who refused to give him a Brazilian bikini wax is @trustednerd [Jessica Yaniv]? Why the f*** is the court/media protecting this guy’s identity either way? The women he targeted don’t get that luxury.”

Murphy was banned from Twitter after she tweeted in response to her earlier question: “Yeah it’s him,” which was classified as “hate speech.” Twitter has a policy against intentionally misgendering people. Murphy had previously been suspended for statements that called transgender women “men.”

Now that BC human rights tribunal lifted publication ban(they only did this because of public out rage, they would of kept Yaniv's ID hidden if it wasn't social media storm that surrounded him) and all the details of the story are out, does anyone still think that Murphy's tweet was hateful misgendering? Or was she trying to warn the public?

Why is nobody on left or in the LGBTQ+ community covering this?
