Small technicality. You cannot have your own hair cut, but there's nothing stopping a Sikh from cutting someone else's hair for a living. More importantly, there actually isn't anything stopping them from getting their own hair cut, when you think about it. How many Jews today stick to the prohibitions against wearing multi-material fabrics in the 21st century?

I couldn't tell you if these folks were sticking strongly to their religion's orthodoxy or not, but it's entirely possible that they don't.

So you're saying that, just as my father "wasn't a very good Jew" (he regularly ate bacon and pork chops) and just as Mamoun at my local convenience store "isn't a very good Muslim", (he eats some of the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast burritos) these people might not be "very good Sikhs".
Well now, I guess the onus is now on you, Mr. Booth :lamo
Expect a strongly worded letter from the Sikhs real soon

I have zero interest in the gender of the owners of a business.

You really should. This is one case where the details of the individuals involved are much more important then the case itself.

Now legislative bodies are perfectly capable of writing its standards into tiers and applying more regulations to larger businesses than smaller ones. If a province or municipality wants to exempt businesses with less than 5 or 10 employees for civil rights laws, it may do so.

This would be a reasonable compromise.

I always preferred offending the bad members of religious groups; the good ones tend to be the ones who murder you for their upsetting their delicate sensibilities.

I have ONE...one miserable "whiskerette" on the outside of my schnozz that makes an appearance about once every month. I curse at it and pluck it out with my finger.
I am sixty-three years old.
I was saying that the male "gentleman sausage" itself generally does not have more than a few hairs in most cases, and as it turns out, the same is mostly true for most people's noses.

But yes, I am aware that a few people end up with more than their fair share.
My EARS, for example, are now host to that which I'd much rather was on the top of my head.

I'm still a young fellow, so I don't have much nose hair or ear hair to worry about. However, my gentleman sausage has side burns. Is this normal? Would anyone like me to post pictures so you can get a better idea of what I mean?

Most religious people nowadays are not strictly orthodox but they still follow the main tenets of religion and should be enough to claim religious rights.

Aww. Does this offend you? You poor thing you.

I feel bad for the LGBTQ+ community and hueman rights tribunal, being taken advantage of by a person that show signs of predatory tendencies. This is going to be a huge story when some Canadian reporter decides to step up and report on this.

I am very supportive of transgender rights, but no, if you want to do that you have to do it yourself or find a studio who will do that. You cannot force anyone to do such a thing. Especially as because touching the male genital zone is a bit different than touching that of a woman. With women you don't have to "touch" the genitalia itself, just around it.

And it is a service a salon/studio will choose to either have or not have available. Only if a salon does it for men and refuses it for transgender men then yes, that would be discrimination to some degree but in this specific case, hell no, he can go do it herself or find some lady friend/male friend who is willing to help them get waxed

Sure, maybe you'll even get a date.
Chicks love it when you send gentleman sausage photos to them, didn't you know?

Dear heavens, perish the thought. Sending gentlemen sausages to unchaste strumpets like some kind of sex fiend is a compromise of the sausage pic's sanctity. This is purely for science.

God bless every unchaste strumpet. They're a national treasure.

That's just weird. Wouldn't a speedo take care of any drag due to excess hair there?
Most of the hair removal of a male swimmer is the groin area, not the balls specifically. The speedo suit only covers a small area. It is the area exposed that gets treated. Personally when I did compete many eons ago, I shaved.

I was under the impression that ALL forms of hair removal are against the Sikh faith.
Am I wrong on this?
Only on themselves, which is why you can find Sikh women with beards. Nothing in their religion prohibits them.from performing this service on non Sikhs.

Somebody wanted to have their sack waxed and then have all the hair ripped out?

Well, I guess it takes all types.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who immediately went to that question.

My knees literally slammed together when I read the OP.

A penis is a penis. It doesn't have a gender identity.
It is the general pubic area, not the organ itself, as I would surmise that the organ itself usually doesn't have much in the way of hair any more than the outside of a person's nose would.
Yes, but "the general pubic area of someone with a penis is the general pubic area of someone with a penis. It doesn't have a gender identity" doesn't really roll off of the tongue. ;)

Why Should a woman do it? This society is definitely dumber than I had thought

A trans identifying female (JY) filed complaints against 15 waxing salons, alleging that they discriminated against her on the basis of her gender identity and expression. A number of defendants sought legal representation and the complaints filed against them were rescinded.

The remaining owners of the salons have had a difficult time finding representation due to the nature of the case. The JCCF(Justice Center for Constitutional Freedom) a law firm specializing in Canadian constitutional law has picked up a number of the salons as clients.

A few of the (sikh ) owners of the salons refute the claim by stating that handling male genitalia goes against their religion. Jy claims religion should not be used as a shield to discriminate against trans identifying individuals:lamo

Should women be forced to wax male genitalia?

Edit: I left out a lot of details of the case. I'm only presenting enough to discuss the topic.
What a painfully stupid thread.

Lawyers at the Calgary-based Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) announced Wednesday they are representing Poyer. In a statement, lawyer John Carpay said Poyer did not have the supplies or training to perform a “Manzilian” wax job. “As such, she is unqualified and unable to provide the service.”

Sounds more than reasonable.

At least to me.

Sounds dangerous. I wouldn't want any woman near my genitals if she didn't want to be there. Especially if she had access to sharp instruments. Then again, it could be a cheap way to finish up the conversion..... just sayin'

A public access business must provide any product or service equally. If balls care is not a service provided, I'm not sure gender matters.

We could of course just stop lying to mentally ill men and solve the problem altogether

How is it legal for any salon to turn away a male customer. Isnt that gender discrimination and isnt that illegal. Live by the sword, die by it.

What would the reaction be if this was a barber shop refusing a woman a hot shave? Imo same rules apply.

I'm beginning to think Trump is going to win quite easily in 2020.
