I think the Senate should call her in to testify!

she tweets way too much. a sign of something?????????????????????????????????????????

Voted "She's exaggerating for political purposes"... because of the politics of this issue for the purposes of 2020 it is painful to know who to really trust on what is going on.

So shocked that AOC found problems with with CBP detention facilities.

The right's hatred of AOC is just far too apparent, can't you hide it just a tiny little bit? I guess not. Nevertheless, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was not the only member of Congress that heard this told to them by the 'inmates'. Senator Julian Castro and Congresswoman Norma Torres also heard the same thing. Will you claim that each of them are lying? Will Julian Castro and Norma Torres get sexually obscene Facebook comments from ex-border guards?

Nope

In addition to the drinking water fountains not operational, people are sleeping in sleeping bags on concrete floors and the lights are on 24/7. Paul Manafort is living in conditions like the Waldorf Astoria compared to children and women in our concentration camps.

I voted she exaggerated for political reasons. She should also know Congress is the key to make changes if she really believes what she posted. imo, BOR/ICE is not prepared to handle the numbers of illegal crossers or those seeking asylum. Congress needs to act now to change our aslyum laws.

I don't trust her at all. I think she's a drama queen who is obsessed with attention. I think she's exaggerating and possibly flat-out fabricating things to get her name in the news to promote herself politically.

I don't like the multiple choice options, because thy seem emotionally manipulative

I respect her for going. I think every member of Congress should go. I have no reason to think she is lying. At least she went, which says more about her than those calling her a liar and refusing to look into the situation.

No. I wouldn't call her a hero. I think her actions should be viewed as normal. I believe everybody should want to know what's happening in the camps, and everybody should be concerned about human rights.

Well, this explains the nature of you multiple choice options. You just think she is flat out lying and exaggerating, but what actual proof do you have of that?

What she had to say is far from the most scadelous reports. I don't see how anybody can't feel concerned about the conditions there. The FB group isn't just from AOC either.

Anybody who knows anything about the Stanford Prison Experiment shouldn't be the least bit surprised to hear this is 100% true. This is exactly the type of horrible **** that happens when you hold people in captivity with armed guards. These are innocent children and there is no excuse for this. This is the type of treatment we reserve for murderers and rapists not people with out the correct paper work.

I voted exaggerating, but....that means there's a kernel of truth there.

I agree, but AOC and her ilk believe that there should be no laws when it comes to immigrating to the U.S. She thinks it's a human right and America was zero right to deny anyone.
There's an agenda here which isn't compatible with America being a sovereign nation with borders, and what Congress needs to do is consistent with these tenets.

My first thought was "She's exaggerating" but I really think it goes beyond that. I think her comments were planned to coordinate with the ProPublica piece in an effort to create a media firestorm. I think her comments belie an intention to use the border situation as a political bludgeon. She had a choice.

She could have suggested solutions to this problem. She could have encouraged her party to engage with Republicans and get more staff and more funding to the border. She didn't do that. She chose to stand on the backs of the detainees and use them as a soap box.

She has mental problems.

Seems a bit neurotic.

There's a few things going on with AOC:

1. She is dumb. When I say dumb, I mean dumb. Literally not bright. The only way she got through college, let alone graduating high school, is she had to have slept with many teachers to give her good grades so she can get a degree. That would be the only smart thing she could have done because despite how unintelligent she is, she does have a great body. Part of the reason why she might have done well as a bartender. Other than that, she doesn't know the first thing about economics, government, and business. She doesn't even know how budgeting works.

2. She does lie. She staged the visit at one of the "detention centers" at the border. She was staring through a fence and no one was on the other side, except for a parking lot. She lies about how detainees are drinking from toilets. I wouldn't be surprised if she lied about about the controversy in her bid for Congress. Regardless, she has proven that she is not an honest nor truthful person when it comes to the problems of the world.

3. She LOVES being the center of attention. This couldn't be more true. The only other thing that she's smart enough about is what to say or do because she knows it makes her political opponents angry. Comparing detention centers to concentration camps, says having kids is bad for the planet, statements about her own party members and how she votes, LYING, saying she's in charge, making a dance video about taxes, and the list goes on. She actually enjoys all the attention, and EVERYBODY is falling for it. She's only going to continue with this kind of behavior, and it may get worse. She craves attention, like many other millenials. The need to be popular and to be narcissistic is unbearable. This is MY generation we're talking about. She is the result of this.

So what created this mess of a person? Lack of parenting and being told 'no', cobbled with the bullsh!t they teach at schools nowadays and what pop culture has been promoting (self indulgence and attention cravings). The results of all this is of the Left. There's no other way to explain this. Only problem Leftist leaders have is they created a monster and there are others like her. Now their own creations are turning on them, at the same time going after everyone to the Right of them and anyone who simply has some disagreements. That's what AOC is.

You never do this with Trump tweets Josie and ask if they are exaggerations.

Just sayin'.

Good try. I've criticized Trump repeatedly - over several years. That's all I'll say about Trump since this isn't about him. I won't let you derail my thread. :)

It is fascinating to observe the head spinning virtue signaling antics of the democrats.

Democrats and Media Insist Trump ‘Manufacturing’ Phony Border Crisis

"the media have insisted there’s actually no crisis along the border at all. Indeed, this is phony issue the Trump Administration is “manufacturing” so that he can secure funding for a border wall.

Democrats have likewise insisted there is no crisis along the border, and Congress has thus failed to secure the funding to improve these detention centers that the Trump Administration is seeking.

MSNBC’S Eddie Glaude Jr., told viewers: “This is a manufactured crisis. At the heart of this whole thing are a whole bunch of lies.”

His colleague, former John McCain adviser Steve Schmidt, said of the border: “We have a president who will go on TV tonight and lie and lie and lie and lie some more is a manufactured crisis.”

Over on CNN, anchor Chris Cuomo said if there were actually a crisis on the border, his network would be covering it: “Wouldn’t we be there because it was a crisis, they were being overrun? There’s something manufactured about this.”

“There’s no crisis,” insisted Univision’s Jorge Ramos. “It’s a manufactured crisis.”

CNN’s Symone Sanders likewise said claimed the situation on the border “is a manufactured crisis.”

Democrats have likewise been insistent there’s no crisis at the border. Hawaii Sen. Mazi Hirono said during last year’s government shutdown: “He’s taking 800,000 federal employees hostage so he can get his vanity wall. So he’s created this crisis, it’s a manufactured crisis.”

Her House colleague, Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.), agreed: “All the elected officials, including Republican colleagues, all state that this is a manufactured crisis and a crisis manufactured by the Trump Administration.”

CNN’s Don Lemon said the Trump Administration is “playing” voters.

“He’s determined to convince you there is a crisis at the border,” Lemon said. “They’re playing the public, you, for suckers.”

Today, however, many of these same media personalities are attacking Trump — for not treating the situation on the border as a “crisis.” "

So ....democrats insanely insist there is no crisis.

Democrats try to separate truth from their false narrative.

Democrats actively encourage lawless open border policies with sanctuary cities, interfering with ICE, crazy laws, claim "walls" are immoral even as they cower behind their own walls with their armed guards.

It may be possible to charge democrats civilly for the deaths, human trafficking, drug and gun smuggling, and the rape trees at the border.

None of this will matter in a decade anyway if we take democrats seriously regardless as the death of the earth is imminent.

Ocasio-Cortez: "The World Is Going To End In 12 Years

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's very slippery slope on facts

What she had to say is far from the most scadelous reports. I don't see how anybody can't feel concerned about the conditions there. The FB group isn't just from AOC either.

Joaquin Castro apparently snuck a camera into the facility. Here's a video of one of the showers from his Twitter feed - Joaquin Castro on Twitter: "The showers at Clint Border Patrol Station.… "

I don't know about you but if that's an indication of how gross and disgusting the conditions are I think that AOC's comments need to be taken with an entire box of grains of salt.

The tRump supporters are following a predictable pattern here.

1. They don't address the message. Instead they attack the messenger.

2. They act as if there is no chance of the frightening allegations of conditions in the tRump concentration camps are true.

So for now, the cruelty continues. 'Murica.

What now, for those who denied a 'crisis' at the border?"

Congress is debating emergency humanitarian aid to care for migrants on the U.S.-Mexico border. The need is obvious. With virtually no barrier to stop them, thousands of migrants are crossing illegally into the United States every day. More than a million will come this year. U.S. law prevents border officials from quickly returning them. While they are being processed, some of the migrants, including children, are being kept temporarily in terrible conditions. American officials have an obligation to take care of them before those with no valid claim to be in the United States are returned to their home countries.

Capitol Hill Democrats are reportedly torn about an emergency aid measure. On one hand, they want to care for the migrants. On the other hand, they fear approving aid would empower President Trump to carry out a plan to deport illegal immigrants whose cases have received full legal due process and who have been ordered deported. Such deportations used to be relatively uncontroversial but are now, apparently, unacceptable to some Democrats.

This moment might be a time for introspection for those who have consistently downplayed the urgency of the situation on the border. Earlier this year, with the number of illegal crossings rising; with the nature of the crossers changing — more families and more children than in earlier years; with the testimony of border officials that they were unable to handle the situation — with all that happening, many Democrats and their supporters in the media forcefully denied that there was a crisis on the southern border. Here are a few — actually, more than a few — examples:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the situation "a fake crisis at the border."

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called it "a crisis that does not exist."

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said, "There is no crisis at the border."

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries said, "There is no crisis at the border."

House Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Eliot Engel called the situation "a fake crisis at the border."

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler said, "There is no crisis at the border."

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, said, "We don't have a border crisis."

Rep. Lloyd Doggett called the situation "a phony border crisis."

Rep. Earl Blumenauer called it "a fake crisis at the border."

Rep. Sanford Bishop called it "a crisis that does not exist."

Reps. Jesus Garcia, Jose Serrano, Suzanne Bonamici, Donald Beyer, Pramila Jayapal, and Adriano Espaillat called it a "nonexistent border crisis."

Former congressman and current California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said, "There is no border crisis."

All are in public office and all have a say in determining policy. In the media, "Never Trump" Republicans, former Republicans, and other commentators have joined in.

Former Rep. Joe Scarborough, now with MSNBC, called the situation "an imaginary border crisis."

Former Bush White House official Nicolle Wallace, also with MSNBC, said "There's not a crisis."

Former Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol called the situation "a fake crisis."

GOP strategist Rick Wilson said, "There is no crisis on the border."

Former conservative talk radio host Charlie Sykes said, "There is no crisis at the border."

The Washington Post's Max Boot called the situation a "faux crisis."

The Post's Jennifer Rubin said, "There is no crisis at the southern border."

The Post's editorial board called it a "make-believe crisis."

And finally, lest anyone ignore the late-night Resistance, comedian Jimmy Kimmel called the situation "a fake border crisis."

Are 26 examples enough? There are plenty more, for those who care to look.

The situation at the border is so terrible in part because those in power, and those cheering them on in the media, have steadfastly resisted commonsense measures to reduce the flow of illegal migrants — the large majority of whom do not have a valid claim of asylum — across the border. The resulting paralysis in border policy encourages more migrants to come, making the situation worse by the day.

Perhaps some of those quoted above only want to deny the president a victory, no matter how sensible. Perhaps others are simply looking for a partisan advantage. Perhaps some sincerely believe in open, or virtually open, borders. It does not matter what their motives are. The crisis — yes, crisis — at the border worsens every day they do not act."

So years of factual evidence are ignored but when a well known liar screeches, its all hands on deck....interesting.

We will see how it plays out.
