I stay away from all of them, but from what I know, all of them show blatant political partisanship...except, maybe, C-SPAN.

And don't forget about the second tier outfits. The echo chamber. Again...all partisan.

Fox, CNN, MSNBC.

The other alphabet channels, I've not watched enough to judge. I know that many are subtle, like NPR, on the radio. There is a definite lean, but the do a better job of hiding it/resisting it.

I voted for all except PBS, CSPAN and BBC because I just don't know.

C-span only broadcasts legislative sessions, right? I haven't seen any other type of broadcast on that channel, although my exposure is limited. Because they only broadcast events without commentary I say it is without bias (beyond the obvious bias of the speaking politician). They are merely presenting the actual discussions/events.

Every other media form, including the many that were not listed have bias and therefor are partisan to some extent.

To me there is little different between saying "blatant political partisanship" and "obvious political bias". I am sure some will argue with my word-smithing, however.

Of interest to me is that there is only 1 obviously right of center media outlet listed (Fox), all of the others are in constant competition to be at various points on the left spectrum.

All but C-span.

I'm just surprised that some people didn't click on all of the things. (Except C-SPAN... it's the cure for insomnia it seems so unbiased.)

I chose to read this as which networks show blatant partisanship throughout their catalog of shows. All of them, with the exception of C-SPAN, have examples of partisanship but Fox is clearly the most strongly partisan network by a mile. Yes, CNN and MSNBC have some liberal and progressive voices but they tend to mingle around the center on issues. I'm defining the center based on policy and not as the center between the far right and the center left.

Looks like FOX is the clear winner with a fee not too far behind.

They're all blatantly political. Which is great. I like it that way. But be old school about it. Claim your bias and be proud of it, like they used to do decades ago before J schools started teaching that journalists should be all "objective", which not even they believed. FOX should be called "The Voice of Conservatism" instead of fair and balanced. MSNBC could use the slogan," Get Your Far Left News Here". Back in the day a newspaper was proud of it's affiliation (bias).

I really had a hard time defining blatant. In the end I voted for Fox, CNN, and MSNBC. There was no debate in my mind with them as far as the term blatant goes. The top three are fairly blatant but they try not to be blatantly blatant. I used to watch ABC because they had the highest ratings but they were too close to blatant for me. CBS news just seems so terrible. So, I watch NBC news and even though they are biased, they do present the other side of the story on occasion in a meager attempt to be unbiased. They are probably the least biased of the big three.

No question about it. They are all tools of the rich and powerful who own the media and both parties.

Where did you pick up the birtherism from?

You independently started worshiping birtherism? I find that hard to believe. You must've gotten it from somewhere even if it wasn't MSM.

???

What on earth are you talking about?

Wait...are you listening to those voices in your head again? You know what you were told about that, right?

Don't play dumb Mycroft, everyone on the forum knows you're a birther. We just want to know where you picked it up from.

You know nothing, Jon Snow.

I would interested to know what the political persuasion are of the people who voted in correlation to their vote. I voted that CNN and MSNBC is the most partisan and I am a right leaning fiscal conservative.

As far as C-Span and C-Span2 is concerned I do watch somewhat, most of time its grandstanding political speeches by both side and quite boring. But when congress is not in session I find C-Span leans a little to the left in their guest select.

I think they should all issue a disclaimer showing their bias. What irritates me the most is the left believing that there is no bias in the media and that they actually are fair and balanced. They should own up to who they are as you say.

CSPAN is pretty much straight up news. They do almost no "analysis" and any opinion pieces they present are clearly just that.

Pretty much every other 24 hour news source has adopted some hybrid news/opinion format. Some organizations lean more to opinion than others and some have tried to mask their opinion as "news" but all of them seem to have some kind of bias one way or the other. However, bias isn't really a bad thing. Bias merely makes it important for the consumer to recognize that bias and test that bias against other information they have available. The conscientious consumer can actually be rewarded by exploring the same story from multiple perspectives.

People saying that MSNBC, Fox News and/or CNN have no blatant political partisanship.....

As Harshaw said before, they only notice it during the Democratic primaries. :)

All of them have bias. The Leftist ones are EXTREMELY partisan, 24/7. It's the main reason why I don't watch them, in addition to them spewing nothing but hatred towards ANYONE on the Right of them (even moderates). That includes all but Fox News and C-Span on this list.

Fox News doesn't get too partisan until Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham. You'll see some elements of it at different times, but for the most part, based on what I heard others that use to work there have said, Fox News is far more moderate than what most people think. I've even noticed it, and, honestly, they moved a little more towards the Left over the past year or 2 (with the exception of the prime time hosts). Not much, but it's just enough to notice. It just has more conservatives come on than any other news organization. People tend to forget or simply not pay close enough attention that during the 2016 Election, Fox News (again, except for the prime time hosts) was in the tank for Jeb Bush, a moderate. They practically sang this guy's praises. Everyone else, except for the likes of John Kasich, at times Marco Rubio and Chris Christie, they threw under the bus (which included Trump). So to say that over half of Fox News is conservative is pretty deceiving.

C-Span, I don't even know if you can even consider them a news organization. They're more of a meeting channel, if that makes sense, where all they do is broadcast meetings, hearings, conferences, etc. Whenever some of their "anchors" speak their opinions, though, they're very much on the Left. I only watch them in case if a major gathering is getting ready to happen. That's it. Other than that, I don't tune in.

The bottom line is there is going to be bias, regardless, in form or another. It's just the extreme Left wing ones are nothing but partisan politics all day long.
