Yesterday, the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. to answer additional questions about Russian interference in the 2016 election. It seems the Intelligence Committee is wholly unsatisfied with Junior's previous testimony regarding (1) the infamous Trump Tower meeting with Russian operatives and (2) Junior's previous testimony regarding the proposed Moscow Trump Tower. It seems Junior may have perjured himself more than once.

I voted 'No', as I find it doubtful.

I think Trump is now in full "non-cooperation" mode, and will run with it through next Nov, presenting his supporters with a "me or the government" choice. Of course his core supporters hate our government, and this plays well with them.

The Constitution does not explicitly give Congress the right to issue subpoenas or contempt citations, but it began to do so not long after the birth of the Republic. The Supreme Court upheld the practice in 1821, reasoning that without it, Congress “would be exposed to every indignity and interruption that rudeness, caprice or even conspiracy may mediate against it.” The ruling gave Congress the right to imprison uncooperative witnesses for contempt, but for no longer than the duration of the Congress that passed the citation.- from Slate website

The large text is playing out as we watch!

It was a little large, but I claim laziness to fix it!

Voted: other, I think he and dad will drag on as long as possible.

Yes, sooner or later, hopefully in an orange jumpsuit.

What is it with this Burr guy? There are 'Jeff Flakes' all over the place. There is a lot of 'primarying' to be done by us voters.

I'm surprised Mittens hasn't stepped up to a camera to defend Burr. If you can't even get Mitt Romney to defend
your Never Trump position, you truly are alone among the GOP.

Do you dislike committee chairman fulfilling their roles?

I voted Yes, because the consequences of violating a subpoena is worse than not remembering.
The caveat is that if Eric drives, DJT, Jr. won't show up because Eric won't be able to find the Capitol.

For what?

The American Democratic Party no longer exists. It is the International Facist-Socialist Party increasingly worshiping every adversary of our country and students of Stalin, Mao and Kim Jung Un.

Many Democrats including on this forum do not even hide that they want to imprison anyone who opposed fascism, socialism or the destruction of the USA, ie wanting to imprison 60+ million Americans as political prisoners.

If Democrats ever truly got 100% total control of government the number of Americans they would kill in political prisoner death camps would be the greatest slaughter in world history having the technology to run up anyone who ever said the wrong thing. NO ONE is more dangerous than atheist fascists.

I don't think you can legally use "Trump and Honor" in the same sentence. You might get sued for slander.

No.
Trump Jr. retweeted 24 hours ago a statement supposedly issued from within his "inner circle" in which it points to an agreement made between the Senate Intelligence Committee and him back in 2017.

Can you produce a link to said agreement?

Hyperbole, much?

As well you should! ;)

Especially when someone actually thinks the Don Jr. is going to testify before Congress, if after he was convicted. I sure as wouldn't and would dare them to do something about it.

Let me ask you: if you're already in prison, would you honor a congressional subpoena that could only serve to get you in more trouble?

LOL! He's not a private citizen. Can't have it both ways; he works for the White House.

He categorically refused to sit for an interview with Mueller.

You're welcome.

That is some top drawer logic, there. If you find yourself in prison you will do and go where they take your shackled ass. :2wave:

If Trump Jr. didn't have proof of said agreement, he wouldn't have retweeted that statement.

I don't see Burr or Warner disputing said statement ...
