OK... in the previous poll asking if Jussie Smollett was a blatant liar, the result this far reveals 96.7% of those voting believe he is a blatant liar.

Now is why did him perpetrate his hoax?

The options:

1. Because he wanted more money, a bigger contract through being a victim of his hoaxes. The staged assault and postal fraud letter.

2. Because he wanted to smash Trump and those on the right. He’s a known Trump hater.

3. Both 1 and 2.

Both 1 and 2. Although its possible that he wasn't trying to smash Trump and those on the right. He might have figured due to the fact that loony shirt for brains leftists(I am not accusing all leftist of being those things just those that call republicans racist) all the time lying about those on the right being racist that a Trump supporter would be plausible attacker of him.

I'll go with (1) because I don't think that even such a deluded goof believed that he could hurt Trump or even the reputation of MAGA hat wearers. He just wanted attention from the liberal media.
