The Barr Report, of course, being distinctly Barr's own four page summary of Mueller's report.

Do you accept the Barr Report at face value?

1. Yes, I have no reason to doubt it.
2. No, I'll wait on the Mueller Report, whenever that happens.
3. I don't know.

I accept it at face value but it leaves TONS of questions. Tons.

and when I say at face value I mean I know it is slanted in word for TRump, that is why he was appointed, but technicality within the bounds of law.

No, Because it seems Barr more or less rendered a a legal opinion or a prosecutorial decision in less than 48 hours about what I suspect is a voluminous report that took 2 years to put together. No, I'm sorry but Mr. Barr is going to have to do better that that.

It should have been a matter for Congress to decide, IMHO.

I guess we see why Barr was appointed.

I'm going with "I don't know". Barr has some pretty strong and open beliefs about executive privilege. These were known before he was confirmed. I get the strong hunch that even if Mueller made a stronger case for obstruction that Barr would have overruled him because of the power of the presidency.

That said, I cannot believe that either he or Rosenstein are covering anything up, and that his summarization is accurate enough to be the end of any criminal investigations related to Russian interference, as least as it pertains to coordination with Trump and his campaign.

Define "face value".

It's actually "The Barr and Rosenstein Report". They worked together on it with help from Mueller, himself. Barr and Rosenstein also came to their obstruction conclusion together.

I have no reason to doubt it.

I don't think he's stupid enough to risk an outright coverup, but I do suspect that his summary is a massive oversimplification of a much more complex and nuanced conclusion.

No.

Yes, it was clearly Barr's belief that it should have been a matter for Congress to decide as well, but that strikes me as punting to them something the DOJ was qualified to conclude on its own.

Mueller was appointed by AG, his report was submitted to AG. How does Congress get into the act at all? Just because they're whining and crying and bloviating?

Barr didn't "override" anybody, he reported on what Mueller said.

From what I understand, Mueller's report was almost 500 pages. Really hard to adequately summarize that in 48 hours. But I'm sure Barr has been getting up to speed since the day he took office.

Are you sure you are responding to the right person? Cause I don't see that in my post.

Did congress get to decide if Ken Starr's report was on the up and up?
Just more whining from butt hurt leftists and Trump haters.

Are you really saying that AG Barr "appointed" Mueller? :lamo

The way a president uses his powers is up for Congress to interpret, as it was in Watergate.

No.

I never call a game till it's over.

This is where I stand on the big picture.

On this report I'm pretty good with the collusion (although I would like to see it) however I think the obstruction decision came much too quickly.

Barr is a total Republican stooge who was involved in pardoning the players in Iran Contra. The removal of Jeff Sessions because Trump was scared of the Russian investigation remains a glaring mark against this President and the public trust.

Remember, Jeff Sessions was removed because he wouldn't obstruct justice for the President.
