Did you serve?
If you did which branch and what is your political lean.

Yes, Army Medical Corp, 23 years.....I do not lean left or right specifically.

I find both sides have a few redeeming qualities, but they tend to be outweighed by the partisanship.

I tried to make this into a poll but didn't quite pull it off. Let me try again.

Eight years, US Army, 11B.
Stuck in the Middle, leaning slightly left of center.

Well, I tried to make it a poll showing political lean but didn't forsee Middle. So will just leave it as is.

Was in Air Force. Guidance and Flight Control Spec for air to ground nuclear missile under the wings of the B-52.
Lean Democrat.

Yes, army, infantry.

I am a moderate who in todays political environment I lean a little left.

The right has gone so bat **** crazy that I will consider myself slightly liberal until they come back to their senses...

I served 20 years in US Army. Military Intelligence. When I enlisted in the Army I was a Republican. When I retired I was basically what I am now. While I am not a Democrat, I agree with Democrats nowadays more than I agree with Republicans, with the exceptions of gun control and small business regulations.

Currently serving in the United States Army in Military Intelligence. Enlisted as a liberal and still pretty much liberal.

20+ years USMC - GySgt retired.

Fiscal conservative
Socially somewhat liberal/libertarian
Military hawk
Border - We should take in everyone who comes legally and with a clean slate.

23 months, Army MP 2nd lieuie, 1st on discharge

Lean - sanity

What is surprising is that only 7.3% of all living Americans have served in the military at one point of their lives. Somehow I thought it would be higher.

Even though there is rivalry among the branches. when I flew commercial with uniform on (during Viet Nam era) I always felt that if push came to shove that I could count on another branch member to back me up. Never had any problem at airport with the uniform on. But always felt this kinship with other military members.

USMC / 3 yrs / ‘76-‘79 / 2531

Conservative

I don't give a flying flip of your lean....but I dearly thank you for your service.

20 years Air Force. I am a Kennedy Democrat. Im strong on national defense, strong on protections of individual rights, strong on the protection of freedom and the Constitution, strong on legal immigration, fiscally conservative (which doesnt fit either major party), procapitalist, pro libertarian, Hell on terrorists, and have ideas on social reform that would make most liberals look downright republican. In todays parlance, that makes me a fascist and a nazi.

Yes, a combination, 4 years active duty in the Air Force, in which I was a left winger.
12 years later, I needed the cash so I re-upped in the US Army National Guard.
My lean at that time was a right-winger, which I am still a member of today.
A little later, I needed money again, and joined the USAF Air National Guard again for six years.

Why? Who's asking?

Crosscheck..... Obviously.

I would find it hard to believe that of our left leaning brethren.

US Army, 2014-Present.
Satcom. Fairly Liberal.

11 years Air Force, C-130 crew dog.

Fiscally conservative, socially I lean towards greater personal freedoms. I voted for the legalization of marijuana and gay marriage when they were on our state ballot.

6 months active duty 6 years Army Natinlal Guard. Activated for a week to quell Newark Riots of 1967.
Conservative politically!

US Navy, Gulf War 1, 1989 - 1995. Did most of my time from the drydock.
Served on a guided missile cruiser as a Nuclear Electrician on the west coast (insert glow in the dark joke here).

I don't really lean, I am solidly conservative having never voted for a democrat in my life (much to the chagrin of some family members).

So far we have:
9 Army
4 Air Force
2 Marines
1 Navy
0 Coast Guard.

Granted the branch of the Army is the biggest but not by the huge percentage we see here in DP.

As of November 2018 the active duty population of the 5 branches.
Army = 471,000
Navy = 324,000
Air Force = 322,000
Marines = 184,000
Coast Guard = 36,000

Quite a few different assignments here. But one thing that unites us all is that at some point we all got off that bus usually in the middle of the night and some guy came up to us and started screaming his head off at us "Welcome Boot".
