Are Men Better Drivers Than Women? - ABC News

Women crash into women far more than men crash into men despite the fact that men drive far more, on average, than women do. What up with that? women also seem to crash into stationary objects like signs, posts and gas pumps more than men... Why?

Why are women more passive than men?
Why are women more team oriented than men?
Why are women less violent than men?
Why are women different than men?

Socialization. They're taught, from infancy, to behave in a certain (female) manner.

It's not "girl genes".

They will be soon enough... female driving was just made legal last June.

You never mentioned country- you have no supporting data. I suggest you check on how many women are driving in Saudi along with males and the accident rates

Other than that ref the OP, you having a bad day?

Women are not less violent than men... it just assumes different, less obvious forms.

Cool. Another misogynistic thread.

No one wants to hear your crybaby BS about women beating you up.

The supporting data is in my source provided by ABC News...

That is why I said it will be eventually...

Great day. Sunny. Friday. Work almost over. Going surfing again this afternoon.

I would never share our intimate love making with you anyway...

No women are not worse drivers than men.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that (on average) women engage in more risky driving than men do. On average men probably drive alone as the single occupant of the vehicle much more often than women do. And the bulk of men's driving is probably the same exact route every day of the week: To and from work. Women probably have children in their cars much more often than men do, resulting in more distracted driving on average, and they drive much more varied routes throughout the week, going to schools, games, grocery shopping, and the like.

In this scenario, it makes perfect sense that women would be running into other women much more often than men, (who are mostly driving only during rush hour and spending the bulk of their day at work,) and that they would be getting into far more accidents with other women. You could argue that the tendency to drive multiple varied routes while distracted would tend to make women better drivers than men while also causing them to be over represented in accidents.

Used to work in car insurance. while it's an interesting statistic in the OP, whatever the ratio of men on men, women on men and women on women (we're still talking crashes here, right?) the overriding one is that men crash more, period. This is why women have lower premiums. Stats don't lie and insurance companies base rates on bottom lines, not feelings.

Men have more accidents for a variety of reasons: on the road more, more aggressive, more competitive, drive faster, more likely to ignore signs and lights, less caution, take more risks.

Both genders can be capable of poor judgement and we've all seen 'dizzy' women on the road doing slightly erratic things. These things less frequently lead to collisions however: they are just visually annoying. They also feed the perception that women drivers are hesitant, less experienced or overly cautious as compared to men who are skillful, decisive and sufficiently fast. Unfortunately that overconfidence in one's own skill, decision-making or interpretation of the speed limit is what leads to more crashes.

Just added the link eh

No it is not... driving is not socialization...

Now you're openly revealing that this thread was not about you learning. It's about you crapping on women.

The stats show that women run into women far more than men run into men... stats don't lie.
