I am guessing he wanted his 15 minutes of fame.....but now that his story seems to be collapsing...well he will have to settle for about 30 fast passing seconds.:roll:

Ummm... the guy is already famous for a show that has been very highly critically reviewed. Not that any of the racist Trump supporters around here would ever take their eyes off of Fox News and Duck Dynasty re-runs for 5 minutes to know anything about modern pop culture.

True, but he had nothing to lose with his outrageous story. He gets found out and folks ignore it because hoax hate crimes get ignored, but until they are proven false, the media (social and msm) jump all over it and you get a whole new level of name recognition.

Not collapsing so much as never made sense in the first place.

Film of him walking off camera and coming back with the string like a necktie around his neck. Story changing each time he's interviewed (to be fair, he keeps adding rather than changing). No evidence whatsoever of anyone else in contact with him. Mystery chemical doesn't freeze when bleach would have. Redacted phone records after they were forced to subpoena them for his lack of cooperation. Said his rib was broken, but turns out he just had a scratch on his face ... there is more to the list, but this is the idea.
 
I wouldn't have been able to pick him out of a lineup. I'm familiar with his show, "Empire", but never watched.
I feel comfortable saying at this point, that I think he lied and committed a crime when he made a false police report. I think something physical did happen to him and he needed a story.

Apparently the 2 shadowy figures-persons of interest- have been found and have been questioned.

So they found the 2 guys that were in the general area.... what does this prove? Anything? Make any difference? When can we expect arrests? I'm just trying to find a single piece of evidence anywhere at all that supports his wild BS in any way, shape or form. In fact, this is counter-productive. If these two guys had provided ANYTHING at all, we would have seen a very different headline.

It proves nothing yet, of course, but seeing as you and I are not involved in the investigation, labeling it 'wild BS' before facts are confirmed or disproved is itself 'wild BS'.

Well I mean you are doubting whether or not a Black man was attacked by white people while we all know full well that if a white woman or man said they were attacked by illegal immigrants or Muslims you would believe every word they aid without question. So yeah...

There are no facts to confirm. If we wait for those, we will never move on. His lies have been pretty obvious and while tons of information has come from the police department and other reliable sources destroying his story, there has yet to be anything on his side that didn't come from his manager. You know ... the other guy who benefits from this.

Fact is... Smollett didn’t provide his phone for examination, and when he finally did provide info... days later... it was not complete.
