Either identify the bill to fund government, and end the partial shutdown, that has passed both houses of the 116th Congress, or move along. I thought I was dealing with someone who had at least basic civics knowledge, not just snark.

I cannot truly blame the republicans, they and the democrats did their work to make a deal to prevent the shutdown. Trump decided differently so he owns this shutdown.

Again, since you are apparently ignorant of the fact that a bill that does not get through a Congress does not carry forward to the next Congress. That's the 2nd time I've had to tell you that, I guess I'm surprised that reading comprehension is an issue as well.

I wanted to say Republicans and Democrats. The US spends $32 billion per year in economic aid that gets us nothing. They do this every year, yet we can't get $5 billion for a border wall that pays for itself?

No way I blame Trump. This is what he was elected for. The wall is supported 47:31 by voters in the midterm elections.

Let's also look at this. Mandatory E-Verify is supported by a 74:9. You don't get those kinds of margins on any issue. So why in the world won't our congress pass this?

They aren't going to offer funds for a publicly unsupported, unstudied, unnecessary wall. The President has to prove the wall has merit.

Easy pelosi and Schumer hate Trump so much they are out to destroy him over the security of the people. BTW all those Dems voted for a wall, but that does not matter because it's Trump their after this time, not border security.

Trump and republicans no doubt Because Mitch and repub senators can override trumps veto all day with senate majority vote. please note:: republicans !!!! there are going to be a lot of u.s. citizens wanting their hard earned tax refund money back. and they are smart enough not to be fooled by trump who is at fault for them not getting it . cannot blame dems we passed the same tax bill the repubs did before the dems got the house back so please dont try to blame them...

I see this poll come up every time there's been a shut down or even the threat of a shutdown. My answer is always the same. Republicans, Democrats, and The President. They're all being stubborn jackasses over it.

Up till the now. Trump was onside for a bill. Attacked by Conservative media, threw out the deal. This fiasco is at Trumps feet

Yep, it takes two to tangle, and two to solve this thing. That's the way real life works.

Trump was quite passionate in saying he was proud to own the shutdown because of his desire to fulfill a major campaign promise; border barriers, formerly known as his "wall."
The Democrats can end this but they are hoping Trump caves so they can declare victory going into the 2020 election. He won't cave.
I. and many others, have news for the obstructionists aka the resistance. Unless they stop obstructing and start compromising, and give Trump the funds for a physical border enforcement, it's all on them. They will be handing Trump a victory, a second term.

It's a trifecta of stubborn jackasses.

Trump is responsible in that he refused to sign a bill that would have avoided the shutdown.

Republicans and Democrats are at fault because they CAN put forth a new bill and over ride a Presidential veto or give Trump what he wants. Which takes them acting together. Neither side is willing to do so. As such they are both just as responsible as Trump for the shutdown.

These are the facts of the matter. There is no one side that is innocent. Both sides are playing a game with peoples money. That game is to make each other look as bad as possible. This is all about votes. It's not about anything else.

No, it hasn't been done. I have not seen a single study that proves the wall is necessary or will be effective.

It's publicly unsupported. Nobody wants our tax dollars going to it.

There are already over 700 miles of wall and it's not effective.

Waste my time and money.

They should have passed this **** long ago.

But the past is the past.

Now, it's on the Dems

Trump has offered compromise on both amount appropriated and removed the political sloganeering by offering a alternative to The WALL. Allowing for steel fencing much like is currently occupying a lot of real estate.

This is nothing but the Dems trying to fire up their base by opposing Trump on his major campaign promise.

Regardless of what your dog is in this race, you're just plain dishonest if you don't see that Dems are compromising our sovereignty and security for political posturing.
