Name calling has become the the norm in today's politics. I have said numerous time that Trump's name calling and temper tantrum throwing, he acts like a five year old kid whose parents failed to teach him any manners. Pelosi has just joined Trump in acting like that five year old kid whose parents failed to teach both any manners.

Wow, a mentally five year old as president when it comes to behavior and another one about to become speaker of the house. As for crossing lines, there is no line left in today's world of politics. Those lines have been cross long ago.

She said this in private, and it's silly to pretend that statements FAR worse and more insulting aren't said on a minute by minute basis in a place like D.C., and have been since forever.

Seriously the feigned outrage here is pretty pathetic, as is the fake BOTH SIDES nonsense. What Pelosi did is at best a one-off, but it's so normal for Trump that we don't even notice anymore.

Trump - 1000 times, in rallies, on Twitter, in press conferences.
Pelosi - 1 time in private.

BOTH SIDES!!!! It's just not a legitimate comparison.

Or, for the purpose of this thread, realizing what Pelosi is. Trump doesn't have to be mentioned. The woman has been around for more than the last 2 years, and she has not improved.

What is Pelosi?

If what she said is acceptable, we mustn't be so hypocritical as to criticize Trump.

The both sides comparison is really nonsense. Trump disparages people publicly and proudly so regularly and routinely that pointing it out doesn't even merit a yawn. What's notable with Trump is when he engages with a political foe or critic and does NOT resort to childish insults. There's also a real difference in something said off the record in a private setting, versus in a rally or on your official Twitter account or in a press conference.

I didn't like Pelosi before. I like her a little better now.

She has Trump's number. Thank God Democrats took back the House and can put the Wannabe-Mob-Boss-in-Chief's feet to the fire.

Trump is a reflection of us for sure. That is becoming more and more clear.

Stop projecting. I'm proud to say that Trump and I have precious little in common.

If what she said is acceptable, we mustn't be so hypocritical as to criticize Trump.

Please. In two years I've never ever seen you complain of Trumps lack of decorum and viciousness towards people.

Such a disgraceful comment from Nancy Pelosi. What kind of grandmother talks like that? So much for not going low. If this is the type of leadership we can expect from the Democrats, they are in trouble!

Is there a "line" anymore under this president?

The Red Hats can't beat their chests and holler and hoot every time he says something racist, refuses a handshake, walks out of an interview, kicks a reporter out, gets into a twitter spat, and lies, lies and lies again and then whine whenever someone says something even slightly demeaning to the president.

Trump's own behaviour is a disgrace to his office and that's the new standard the confrontational right-wingers have established. Can't spend the whole game fouling people then go crying to the ref when the other team goes offside.

People will respect the office of POTUS when the freaking president does. Till then, and while the other side holds congress, the kid gloves are off.

What Pelosi said is now acceptable precisely because of every norm and courtesy Trump has destroyed over the past two years. She wouldn't have said it about any other president; she'd never have gotten away with it if it hadn't already become the new normal. Welcome to the bed you've made Mr President.

LOL ... complaining about Pelosi getting a little salty in Trump's America

priceless

Yep. I'd call it a "Mastercard moment."
