"accuse your enemy of that which you are guilty of doing."

Seems like this has become the modus operandi of the political left.

Yes, the party who sees nothing but the color of someone's skin calls US racists. It's pure projection of their soft bigotry.

Yes, it doesn't say that. Though that wouldn't be the first time that I've seen such information go without recording and all of the other stories I read about the event say that it was a "firm knock" on his front door. This coupled with how willingly many of these groups are prepared to lie and protect terrorist groups, like Antifa. Then I still take the notion with a grain of salt like I did before.

However, Antifa has shown that they are more than willing to outright assault innocent people and cause willful damaged to private property. Which has only increased in the wake of them receiving the protections that are normally tossed out in their favor.

As Tucker is nowhere near the monster that I have seen people claiming. I'm merely going with the more believable party.

They cared about the actual vandalism, the spray paint on the driveway. (Which is too close to burning a cross. So too far, IMO)

But nothing about a broken door.

Which would be attempted breaking and entering. A bigger crime. A threat to actual people.

So I don't see them "missing" that if it actually happened.

Nope.

Hatred of professional manipulators who are directly responsible for the divide you are complaining about.

C'Mon, I've been tilting at that windmill here since I got here.

Tilting a windmill = Trying to fight imaginary monsters....

Fitting.

Hated for having an opinion different than yours....

Razor thin line, that's how close. It is scary and sad commentary on our country's lack of tolerance and civility.
Goebbells- accuse your enemy of that which you are guilty of doing.

Notice all the stuff that the Old School Liberals used to be hot about, that the New Left takes the opposite position on....Justice being at the top of the list.

Of course the Legacy Republican Cucks managed little better.

We The People are right to be irate!

I would probably end up cussing out Hannity, Rush, Coulter, Ingraham and that slut Tomi if I had to see any of their ugly mugs while eating my own dinner.

you should get in her face and call her a slut. Same to Coulter.

It's past time to dial this back. After 45 is gone ( hopefully soon, imo) we still have a country to run and a Constitution to defend.

Actually I just wanted proof to a claim and here you come trying to sound intellectual. Proposing an article that I'm quite certain my office had a good laugh at several years ago.

But to each his own, as you can have your opinion and I will keep mine.

None are so blind as those who will not see.

Mobs invade restaurants to scream at Republicans and they're exercising their 1st amendment rights. Tucker Carlson gets paid to talk about his views and often times, demolish loony liberals on his show, and the thought police go after him AND HIS FAMILY.

So in your world, a woman who is a celebrity gets no abortion rights?

THE

STATE

IS

NOT

INVOLVED.

Unless you mean you're going to personally physically prevent her.

Which still wouldn't mean she couldnt HAVE an abortion.

Just that an individual interfered.

I think it is a bad thing that every night Tucker spews lies and riles up parts of our nation with baseless crap meant to inflame his viewers. What he suffers in return is determined by his behavior on the air. If he wants it to stop, stop his propaganda. It is up to him. As for his family, maybe if they feel the heat they can persuade him to become a reasoned voice instead of a complete asshole every night. I cannot stand the man, he deserves all he gets.

so what you are saying is that its ok with you to try to harass and bully someone into silence because he doesn't agree with your far leftwing take on America?

Depending on the situation, yelling at people may not be against the law; continuing to do so when they do not want to engage with you in a private space like a restaurant can be and often is against the law. It falls under anti-harassment/stalking statutes and if it is serious enough, anti-assault statutes.

How do you feel about sex offender registries?

It is not about Tucker.....it is about our decline as a society....about how ill we have become.

How stupid we have become.

Well to be fair, Tucker and his like are a big part of the reason for the decline.

Eventually if allowed to continue, this type of Brownshirt like activity by the Left will lead to a meltdown and ultimately violence that must be met in kind. That will lead us to the end of our nation.

Hopefully the "really bad thing" will just be a wake-up call.

Our system is broken and its time to reconceive our preconceptions.

When you consider the harm and damage many of the Trump appointees and supporters have done to the very fabric of American society, I am amazed there has not been even more radical opposition to these people. The remedy is simple, stop the rhetoric on right wing media, stop the chaos in the White House, stop the tweets, stop the abrasive and cruel policies and bring us back to some form of equilibrium. But Trump and his supporters wanted to drain the swamp, destroy liberals, steal seats on the courts, put incompetents in charge of entire departments. They tried it these last two years and awoke the Kraken. The Kraken will destroy this version of conservatism in 2020, you wanted chaos, you got it.

I am waiting for people like you to start your revolution. Given the hate you display, I figure if Trump wins reelection, many of you are going to get violent. and I doubt your stupid Kraken will last more than a week.

Irrelevant to the question but surely you have noticed me enough that you know that I say that it is the failure of the University and the failure of the Journalists who jointly hold the majority of the blame for the decline of America.....they are the ones who betrayed themselves and the rest of us the most.

The moneyed who corrupted Washington come after.

Really good examples right there of how extreme people have become with their views. Almost orgasmic at the thought of violent conflict. So sickening.

They should not be denied the same rights everybody else enjoys, for example, dining out at a restaurant in peace, particularly when their families are with them.

But I guess we could all jump on the confrontation train. The problem is that everybody going around confronting everybody (which includes total strangers) is going to create a lot of uncivil behavior. That's why societies agree on collective behaviors that are acceptable and those which are not.

So you're in a meeting and decide that your boss is dissembling: Do you tell her right then and there in front of coworkers that she is a liar? Really?

Or you're in a restaurant and see one of your employees at another table with his family: Do you walk over to his table and confront him about his disappointing work performance or whatever? Oh, sure--sure, you do. Not.

Both of your examples are better handled differently.

And the people in question easily interacted with whenever.

And neither of them are personally responsible in part for the very divide y'all are decrying.

Let me say that again.

Carlson and his ilk got rich fomenting this divide.

It is a tactic designed to prevent exposure to the other side's messaging in order to protect yours.

So a far bigger deal than a lying boss or a lazy employee.

Carlson and his ilk are workers using the greatest tools for tyranny ever developed.

They need to be made to feel uncomfortable in their misdeeds.

Carlson knows exactly what he is doing. He has made a fortune doing it.

From people profitting from our divide.

I am merely pointing out how hateful the anti trump side has become. I laugh when they talk about violence.

Turn the channel and be respectful enough to allow the rest of us to judge for ourselves.

What damage? More of those American people are finding jobs or getting raises that will allow them to raise the families better. They are more optimistic about their economic and employment future than at any time in a long time. The numbers of people happy with the direction of the nation is near record highs.

IF you seriously what to point a finger at the people causing harm and damage to the very fabric of the nation go find a mirror and look strange into it. Look at the embarrassment you have brought up yourself with the shameful performance of your elected leaders in the Senate during the Kavanaugh hearings, look at the uncivil and threatening behavior of the people that are the subject of this thread. Look at your Antifa wing. Look at a young man berating the widow of a 911 hero on a Portland street just because she was wearing a MAGA hat. Look at the big brave adult men who have snatched MAGA hats off young children or even physically assaulted them. Look at Bernie shooter shooting up a bunch of men practicing baseball JUST BECAUSE their RE-friggin-publicans.

You people have turned American into a third-world political miasma. One of the great things throughout our history has been our ability to differ politically but debate civilly and rationally. YOU GUYS HAVE DESTROYED THAT just because you lost an election. Your sense of smug superiority and entitled was demolished. The elation of Obama's election died in the cesspool of Clinton's defeat.

I've always been one of those "disagree with what you say but defend to the death your right to say it". No more. The hate and antagonism and confrontation you people have degraded to is a disgrace and embarrassment to proud history of liberalism.

It's time you guys on the left start acting like Americans again instead of third world revolutionaries.

Good lord this is pathetic.

I need to see some post from you condemning right wing anti-liberal rhetoric from before you pissed us off to the point we started acting up.

Because it just sounds like the crocodile tears of a bully who got touched up by his victim.

"Be civil, libtard" in other words.

You would think answering the question of whether or not people should be harassed or harangued at dinner with family to be a no-brainer, OF COURSE NOT. Yet there are a minority of forum members who actually think it the kind of thing that people of good character do. Oh really?

There was a time wherein no one had to explain why dinner crashing of a citizen's family, especially those who are not government officials, was something Americans don't do. Sadly, the era of aspiring to middle-class civility and conduct are no longer virtues (can you imagine Drew Pearson, Walter Winchell, or Walter Cronkite and their families hunted down by threatening dinner crashing mobs? No? Neither can I.).

And equally sad is the obtuse excuses (by a minority here) for the graceless and thuggish tactics of the likes of Antifa when even those with modestly endowed intellects should grasp its vile roots.

Was, for example, the demonstration outside the home of Tucker Carlson done for the purpose of political dissent on a particular policy or stand? Nope.

Were they attempting to sway Carlson or others on a position? Nope.

Were they there to disagree, dissent, or establish anything related to "the marketplace of ideas"...nope.

They were they were for a reason that any mob capo or their teamster soldiers would have understood - to threaten, to intimidate, to fan rage for "spontaneous" violence (as they are wont to do) and to chill their victims free speech rights. And while even the mafia has the moral code to leave their victims family alone, Antifa has no such reservations. A families fear and terror is part of their game. Hence, they also had little reservation in publishing his home address, inviting others to join in the totalitarian impulse to intimidate through fear.

Systematic harassment to make a family fearful or anxious, on behalf of pure malice, is not civil or commendable behavior - it is pure evil.

Apparently some here would be delighted to be a part of it.

Sick but true.

The prospect of violent conflict is always disturbing and unsettling but it's also very real. We see indications that the prospect is turning into a possibility with the prevalence of Antifa and, to be fair, incidents like the shooting in Pittsburgh.

At this point the real loose cannons seem to be lone wolves but Antifa is more organized than that, while not yet deadly. America is not in a good place with regard to political discord these days and it's yet to be seen whether things will cool off or continue to get worse. This much is true, sides have been chosen. Now it's just a matter of whether we're going to play the game or not.
