I suggest you educate yourself on the concept of a Nash Equilibrium. Almost no laws exist to protect you from yourself(well except those that Republicans seem to want to pass). Good laws are designed to protect others from you even if you're too short-sighted to realize it.

Shhhh…..adults talking here....run along now and buy yourself a soda.

wait...can you buy a sugared soda over the counter still?

Or is that just heavily taxed?

Or is that just heavily taxed?

Perfect example. Taxes on soda aren't for your protection against yourself. They exist because your fat soda drinking ass causes all of our health insurance premiums to go up.

you should want to heavily tax irresponsible breeding then. People unable to properly raise the children they bring into this world massively increase our insurance premiums.

Sounds like you need to have one entity that is more powerful than all others that are responsive to your needs, and protect you from all the other powerful entities that you would otherwise have no control over.

Yes. Myself.

Of course....because exercising personal responsibility is a completely foreign notion to you.

Hint...I don't drink soda...being aware of the issues and hazards related to it, I made the choice for myself decades ago....you know, as an adult.

Funny how your definitions ridiculously tie all bad things to religion but then struggle to figure out what "liberals" means.

Oh I know exactly what liberal means..

Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty and equality.

Now how do you define "liberal"?

For me I think the biggest threat to my liberty is the tyranny of the majority. One party gets power and wants to pass or bans things and then the other party wins and wants to pass and ban other things.

The government is really the only one that can take away my liberty at this point.
