Language is quite powerful isn't it? You have chosen to frame your argument in the language of baby killing...even counting the little fingers and toes!

Actually it's not like that at all. Why not take a look at exactly how many abortions are performed at which stages of pregnancy? How many late term abortions are done on a whim? Zero! Why not stop condemning women who have made choices without discussing the reasons and rationales with you? You are opposed to abortion? Don't have one..Very simple.

There is no reason for "abortion laws".

Poo-pooing biology is powerful to you?

92% of abortions are performed within 13 weeks. At 13 weeks, a fetus has eyes, sucks his/her thumb, vocal chords, a brain, hormones, fingers, toes, legs, arms..... tell me how killing this human and removing him/her from the womb is just a "medical procedure"?

I know pro-choicers despise it when pro-lifers mention these things. They don't want to hear about the actual science behind the development of the fetus which is why you want me to shut up about fingers and toes. Do you deny that some fetuses aborted have all of those things I listed? Why do you want to shove those biological, scientific facts under the rug and just call it a "procedure"?

I'll ask again --- Abortion doctors terminate humans who are at the very beginning of their lives. Right? It's not just a "procedure" ... is it?

I really don't care if you carry on about fingers and toes. Nor do I care to argue about your view of "biological facts".

We have had this discussion before. Women are entitled to make their own personal decisions about their lives and bodies. They do this in conjunction with their loved ones, their God and their doctors. You have an unending need to condemn women who make different choices than you would make for yourself. That is pretty much the definition of hubris.

And as to your question....the word humans has a definition. It refers to a person. Which has a definition. The word fetus has a definition. We don't just mix em up however it seems to make the argument better.

I did not answer your poll, which was yet another obvious excuse for an abortion argument. I've given my thoughts on the matter several times now, have read your views numerous times, and there seems little more to say. IMO you disrespect women and doctors by accusing them of acting on whims, and it appears in your opinion I disrespect "babies" There's nothing else to be said.

Yes it's just a procedure. Yes it kills a human with toes and fingers. That is perfectly fine with me and every country in the civilized world.

You are the outlier.

You are the extremist

BOTH parties increase government and decrease freedoms. Libertarians are the farthest from any of these dystopian plots.

It wouldnt even have to be a plot. More unintended consequences of non specific deregulation.

We'll make it easy and say potatoes on a boat are Cadillac soccer balls

:) Cute, but you are avoiding the question. Was Woodrow Wilson a Progressive, or was he dedicated to conserving the classic liberal, small-government principles of the founding?

I have no idea or even care

I have no idea or even care

So, in that case, my original point stands. If you want to boldly defend that "Progressives have never done such-and-such a thing! Only Conservatives do that sort of thing!", well, maybe you should go read some history of the Progressive movement :)

That's nice.

Progressives have led every advancement in civil rights.

Conservatives have fought against every one of them

My "view" of them? Biological facts aren't subjective. They just are. You don't want to hear them.

Women are entitled to do whatever they want with their bodies -- except harm someone else. You condemn women who use their bodies to harm others too.

And as to your question....the word humans has a definition. It refers to a person. Which has a definition. The word fetus has a definition. We don't just mix em up however it seems to make the argument better.

"Human" is a species. Two humans cannot create a non-human. A fetus inside of a woman - at any stage - is part of the human species. That human has a separate body and DNA from the mother.

Quite honestly, you seem to be extremely indifferent about the science behind fetal development. You don't want to hear the biological facts because you want abortion to be a non-emotional, "just a procedure" event. It's not and the science behind it tells us what it actually is.

But, as I said earlier, I don't want to get into an abortion debate which I just did. I'm moving on.

At least you can be honest about it.

And I don't mind being the outlier when what I stand against is such an atrocity.

None of the poll options reflects my views.

But IMO we definitely have many such deluded religious people in the US that would gladly keep heading down that path (which has been re-opened already by attempts to criminalize abortion).

AOC has begun action to repeal the Hyde Amendment. Fascinating strategy and tactic! I like it. :)

No doubt if those evangelical Christian ever get the upper hand

Those people are.much more dangerous to America than all the muslims in the world

(Let's all pretend we don't see the horrible grammar, mmmkay?)

Plot Overview. Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead, a totalitarian and theocratic state that has replaced the United States of America. Because of dangerously low reproduction rates, Handmaids are assigned to bear children for elite couples that have trouble conceiving.

The US is becoming less and less religious all the time so a religious takeover is unlikely. Also there is no evidence that most women are going barren any time soon. We face overpopulation not under-population. But it is an interesting dystopia, I always enjoy dystopias.
