Attempting to throw a blanket over the left OR right is just wrong.

I am a Democrat. I am also a serial entrepreneur. I have done several start-ups creating about 1500 jobs. I love capitalism. I am not its "enemy".

Much like pure democracy, pure capitalism would be a disaster. Safeguards need to exist to help it be sustainable.

The left is a not an opponent of responsibly regulated capitalism.

What exactly would you like to have explained to you? I bump into a surprising amount of lefties that think capitalism itself is the enemy. I decided to make a poll for fun.

Agreed. One of the roles of government is to level to playing field, keep the participants true to the rules and encourage economic participation. I am a big believer in the SEC and the SBA, for example

I can't recall encountering any such people, so I haven't had occasion to formulate an answer to any arguments they might offer.

Is your head attached? It's been expressed already that at least some on the left consider themselves opposed to capitalism. I asked what the poster would say to such a person in regards to their position.

Who "expressed" that? Trump? He's not a lefty and he lied to you. Unlike Trump the lefties want fair and just capitalism and not one that let's the wealthy take advantage of the poor.

The Far-Left, yes. Moderates, probably not. Its like thinking all of the right-wing or conservatives are KKK, White supremacist groups. The Far-Right, yes, but moderates and conservatives, no.
 
I'm moderately liberal. I would say the left is an opponent of unrestrained capitalism. I don't believe that's the same thing as being an opponent of capitalism in general.

No. The democratic party isn't opposed to capitalism.
Hell, most of the progressive wing isn't either, they just want it aggressively regulated to prevent the harm it automatically causes if not restrained.

There are more and more people who ARE opposed to it, however.
That is because it hasn't been sufficiently controlled and regulated in recent decades, so it's harm has increased, and people don't like being harmed.
