Please share... What exactly convinces you Dr. Ford is credible?

Dr. Ford was composed, although obviously a bit nervous, and answered her questions directly. She didn't veer off into conspiracies about republicans and her mood did not radically shift during the process. She openly requested an FBI investigation and willingly submitted herself to a polygraph test. She gave explanations to why her memory is cloudy about some aspects of the event. The contrast between how she handled herself, and Kavanaugh's lack of ability to handle himself even after republicans pulled Mitchell from questioning, lead me to believe she is being more truthful.

Yes, and the Repubs will pay in political blood in November.

uh huh...and Hillary Clinton was going to be President. You people just don't learn, do ya. :lamo

your partisan panties are showing. If these is one positive from this circus of political BS, it's showing who those are who think critically and with logic, and who the partisan hacks are.

Are you going to explain your superior logic and critical thinking abilities to me?

There are other accusers. There are essentially two options here. Either there is some undiscovered conspiracy to tear down Kavanaugh or a man who was involved in sports, fraternities, and the drinking parties associated with them crossed a big red line at least a few times in his life.

funny, did you take the accusations of rape and sexual assault against Bill Clinton this seriously...and easily...without any shred of evidence? Of course you didn't...which is why you and those like you have zero credibility now.

I'm not the one showing the entire world my lack of logic and critical thinking...do you really think you are sounding smart here? Seriously? If so...I am so sorry, I won't challenge your delusions and trigger you into going on a shooting rampage.

May see this- Collins- Murkowski- vote against - Manchin votes for- vote is tied at 50-50 - Pence then votes breaking the tie
That would still leave them in tough political positions with their base. It's not that easy to navigate.

I've been very open about my opinion of the Clintons. Of course I believe Bill Clinton has sexually assaulted women.

Flake just left the hearing room and speaking with Sen Coons. Could he be having 2nd thoughts

Oh ok, so you are just one of those people that comes into threads to claim that you are super logical without saying anything else. That takes some real skill.

I tend to think the left did themselves more harm harm than good but who knows. Lots of time left for both sides to spin things.

If the left can convince conservative women that this nomination is offensive to women it may be depress the right sides vote.

If the right can convince people that this was a slimy political attack orchestrated by the left it could galvanize the gop base and sway independents.

Purely from a political standpoint this looked like a high risk medium reward move for the dnc. The best outcome would be to delay the scotus until a new senate is sworn in that they would hope they control. It would give them a voice that would force trump to nominate who they wanted or they could leave the seat open. That too is a wildly risky political play.

IMHO they should of began investigating this as soon as they got the letter and they should of kept this private until they had evidence Web that supports her allegation.

I agree it's a real shame this wasn't handled earlier. And in that little bit of back & forth at the end, between Feinstein & Grassley, it does seem possible this was a mess simply due to ill-fate, rather than design.

I don't know about your theories of "buzz words", but I know a railroaded process when I see it. One side fears law enforcement, the other welcomes it, despite your protestations.

They only welcome it, when it's not one of their own. Feinstein sat on it for this very purpose. 77+ days, longer than some, so no, I wouldn't call it railroaded.

The funny part to this is I don't particularly like Kavanaugh, but this has been a purely political screw job, orchestrated by the Democrats with one intention.

Based on what I know, having watched with great interest all the proceeding of confirmation and accusations, I would hope he will. Why? I think he is highly qualified, and yes I agree with lots of his conservative leanings. I also think the process used to interview him was pretty shameful and the uncorroborated accusations cannot be, should not be, used to stop his appointment. Innocent until proven guilty must always be our American standard. Clearly we have regressed into purely political ideology in the way we conduct ourselves in running our country.

Well another kink in the chain. Jeff Flake has now asked for a delay for an FBI investigation. Dems got their way it seems, pending on Mitch McConnell setting the vote and agreeing to this. Flake seems to be saying he will not vote for Kavanaugh without the delay and investigation. I wonder what Democrats do if FBI find nothing?

No. I think whomever you supported it wasn't Trump. Am I right?

I voted Republican and passed on the two unfit choices presented, you on the other hand put an Idiot in the Oval Office.

I never supported Hillary, you assumption just make you look like you are winging it, like your boy, donald.

There are some things worse than an idiot. Smart people, including various presidents and those circus clowns under that big top in Washington we call Congress, are the ones who've screwed up this country, not Trump.

Same people that sent trump to Washington are the same ones that sent those in Congress.

I suspect that if Rachel Mitchell had a vote, she would vote no.

Why GOP senators dropped sex crimes prosecutor Rachel Mitchell like a hot potato

...at some point, Ms. Mitchell decided she believed Blasey Ford. I think that happened when she called her a "victim" of sexual assault trauma. At that point, I don't think she was going to do anything to hurt Blasey Ford. Perhaps that's why the Republican senators decided to drop her like a hot potato when it came time to really confront Judge Kavanaugh about these allegations.

Remember too, it was Mitchell who began grilling Kavanaugh about the July 1 entry in his calendar. And, it is that entry which confirms Ford's recollection of events and contradicts those of Kavanaugh. She was immediately replaced after that. And, Lindsey then came out with his faux rage remarks.

Maybe, maybe not. Trump will be gone in 2 anyway, and so long as Kav does not go off the rails he will most likely day there.

Talk about idiots. Republicans who "vote for the candidate" are living in fantasy land. If they vote for anyone other than the Republican, they're voting for Chuck or Nancy, who are the people who control the committee assignments and set the political agenda. Committee chairs, in turn, determine what legislation sees the light of day, control who's confirmed to executive and judicial appointments, hold hearings, etc.
