1. Poll of Registered Republicans only:

If the Republican Party were given the opportunity of cancelling federal and state elections in return for permanent government control would you accept it?

2. Poll of Registered Democrats only:

If the Democrat Party were given the opportunity of cancelling federal and state elections in return for permanent government control would you accept it?

Never mind the logistics of this. My guess is a much higher percentage of Republicans than Democrats, if they answered honestly, would rationalize themselves into a "Yes".

Where is the poll? I think your guess would be absolutely wrong! Hillary wanted permanent governmental control when she froze Bernie out in the primary.
But President Trump stopped her in her tracks!

absolutely ****ing NO

we may make mistakes electing people on occasion, but the power of government is already TOO BIG

we need to give the power back to the people at the lower levels, and reduce the size and scope of government

I feel so left out.

An honest man, claiming to be republican or democratic ?
IMO, non-existent ...
BUT, I am of the opinion that extreme-trump-conservatives would love to have their agenda made into permanent law and that there would no longer be elections . On the other hand, the ''left'' hand, the liberals are constantly flipping and flopping .. the price of thinking ..

Are you nuts? Who the hell would want a permanent government of any stripe? That being said, I do believe that lefties would certainly approve of a leftie/progressive/socialist government in power forever.

When the libertarian party wins literally anything, you can be included in the poll too.

But the Republocrat Oligarchy won't let us play on even ground.

lol

So essentially, your poll is already answered, and the answer is Yes. Y'all would take lock out over free elections if you could, because you did.

I'm a conservative and I don't want either side in permanent control. Here's why; whenever one party takes total control (ie., House, Senate, Executive, and/or SC) after a while they always manage to screw it up and take things to extremes. So I like the possibility of change from time to time. It is necessary to curtailing the madness on both sides. And I would prefer stalemate to giving one side or the other everything they want.

In local politics ideological divisions play almost no part. Foreign policy issues, civil rights, abortion, etc., aren't on the agendas there, obviously, but having two parties is still vital in their role of keeping each other honest. It's a key role in national and state government as well, not that it is perfectly carried out.

Yes, I live in a city that has been under Democratic control for generations. One party rule. It's a corrupt mess. Seldom are there any opposition candidates on the ballot. So there isn't any way of bringing balance.

Your opinion is based on your liberal bias.
