On How Many Counts will Paul Manafort be Found Guilty in Virginia?

When Trump interjects himself into the dialogue as the jury goes home un-sequestered for the weekend, and Manafort's counsel publicly thanks the President for "his support", is there any doubt the fix is in?

Sometimes the government needs to find 12 citizens to sign off on their plans.

There is some comfort in that.

You don't have a clue about his quality of work. end of story.

You are in no position to know what I know, claiming such knowledge as you could not possible have is a bad move always.

Look man I am trying to help you, but this is turning into some heavy lifting.

You are under the assumption you are the 'teacher',yet day in,day out you are the one getting schooled.Addressing your first comment,I'll just laugh that one off,as I know anyone who may be privy to what Mueller has,or doesn't have wouldn't come into a public forum like this and state such nonsense.

Isn't it against the law for a sitting Prez to make public comments about other's trials?

I'm not a lawyer, but apparently not. It is, however, against historical precedent set by every other sitting president in my lifetime.

If tRump's innocent in his own affairs then he sure has a funny way of showing it.

After 3 weeks of legal proceedings in Alexandria Virginia, the jury in Paul Manafort's trial has been deliberating for 3 days.

Mr. Manafort is charged with 18 counts.

How many counts do you believe will be returned with a verdict of 'guilty'?

Pick your numbers, ladies and gentleman. Side bets are encouraged!

i'm going with a minimum of guilty on 13 counts. The defense did practically nothing to dispute or impugn the integrity of any of the documentary evidence. Which is what usually drives convictions in these type of cases.

"HE's a funny guy." ( paraphrasing Joe Pesci from that hilarious classic bar scene from the movie Goodfellas.)

Given an unbiased deliberative jury, I agree.

A sad commentary to think that politics have corrupted the jury system..... I am not saying you are wrong, I am just "appreciating" just how far the American judicial system has fallen. We are a third world nation.

OJ Simpson?

That's the thing. The evidence was overwhelming. However, Trump has been publicly tampering with the jury, knowing that with his solid 30% voter base, odds are 3-4 of those jurors are in his pocket. Three days, nearly 24 hours of deliberation? If I'm Manafort's defense lawyer, I'm ecstatically optimistic!

Have you forgotten about the media coverage of this and all related things Trump?

I think he'll walk. We don't actually punish rich people in this country.

Oh man, so many doomsayers in this thread.

I can't see any less than 4-5 counts of 'guilty', based on the paperwork alone. But I suppose one never really knows what's on every juror's mind ...

Whoa!

That's pretty damn optimistic. There's no way I can see every count. Perhaps many, or even most. But not all. What makes you so optimistic, here?

(or pessimistic I suppose, depending upon one's POV)

Tax fraud and bank fraud are serious charges so why not all? 305 years in prison is what tipped me off as to the seriousness of his charges.
So yeah, throw away the keys. ;)

That's my guess too. I think the Swamp supporters have utterly failed in their jury "duty". Wouldn't you?

I mean how ignorant do you have to be to not realize what he did? Although, I understand that most Americans have no clue what White Collar crime actually is.

The judge clearly expressed that being rich is not a white collar crime, although the left believe that it is.

It is supposed to be a fair and impartial jury and this jury may very well be. To you lefties, you had Manafort hung before the trial even started.

We'll find out, but I'm going to go with zero right now. It would be nice to punish even the rich when they commit crimes, but we don't really do that here. The longer the jury is out, the better it is for the defense. So I'm not going to hold my breath and hope they come back with any convictions.

Ummmmmmmmmmm. The leftist media has been tampering with the jury.

So? Trump was elected president for turning precedent upside down.

The judge clearly directed that this case was not about convicting the rich of being rich. The left would love to convict all of the rich for white collar crimes.

I think criminals should be convicted of the crimes they commit, yes. Shocking, right? Holding people responsible? Such a novel idea these days.

Ummmmmmmmmm. We have courts and we have juries and they convict those who are guilty. You want to hold the rich responsible for - being rich.

They do not necessarily convict those who are guilty, and rich people getting away with it is nothing new to our system. It's, in fact, a systematic problem. I'm not looking to hold rich people responsible for being rich, only for the crimes they commit. I know Swampites like to make excuses for the Corporate Elite, but justice was to be blind and being rich was not to be a "get out of jail free" card.

The jury heard the case. They are the ones who will decide and they will decide fairly. You had Manafort convicted before the trial even started.
