Will trump Parson Manafort?

Yep, Trump will pardon him and Manafort knows it. Why? Because Putin wants his guy back in business, and will pull his Trump-puppet strings to make sure that happens.

That is so dumb.....Manafort was done BEFORE he hooked up with Trump, he was trying to rebuild....he failed badly....now he is really burnt toast.

You gotta do better than this.

Assuming he's convicted, which looks pretty certain Manafort could be sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison. Manafort's defense didn't call a single witness - they just rested after the prosecution finished making their case. I'm thinking trump will definitely pardon him.

While #45 can Pardon Manafort in this Federal Case, #45 cannot Pardon Manafort from the State Case, and Manafort knows this.

When Manafort is Guilty as Charged in the Federal Case, he Will Flip.

Trump cannot deal with numerous legal issues on his doorstep. So he will pardon Manafort, pardon his son and if possible pardon his former lawyer because he does not need that distraction with Mueller banging at the gates.

Sound prediction. trump's crooked chickens coming home to roost!

If he's planing on not being President anymore than yes.

not dumb at all. trump's been frantically tweeting in favor of Manafort by trying to vilify the prosecution. trump's telegraphing his intention to pardon Manafort. In part it's a defensive maneuver to take away the prosecution's bargaining power - at least until Manafort's tried in NY state court. There trump will be powerless to prevent Manafort from cooperating with the prosecution and flipping on trump. Like trump, Manafort's a dirty, crooked scumbag looking out only for "#1". He and trump deserve each other.

Probably not, but if he does, I too think it would be after the second trial/sentencing.

If he does that, it may give Mueller's team early warning of what's to come. In such a case, I wonder if they can seal the indictments and just wait until he's out of office, then serve them up. It won't help in the mid-terms, sadly, or for the next election. Going toe-to-toe with POTUS in a Sat. night massacre styled manner, seems destructive...but maybe that's what we need.

I think the jury is instructed to determine if they are guilty of the charges levied by the prosecution, based on the evidence presented.

That it's under Mueller's umbrella seems irrelevant to that directive. Surely they wouldn't let politics interfere.

At its heart, the Manafort trial is political. To pretend it is not is to deny reality.

well scooter fell on the sword for Dick and Jr and got his pardon.

if Manafort keeps his mouth shut he will get the same.

Trump has to pardon him. if not then all those charged in this scheme will roll over on Trump.

I think it is so hilarious that you lefties kept on thinking and the left leaning MSM kept reporting that Manafort would "flip" and yet Mueller is trying to tar and feather him and put him in jail for life. If Manafort is sentenced to life, how exactly is he supposed to flip? Apparently Mueller has nothing on Trump, that's why they don't need Manafort to flip and want to interview Trump, because they're trying to trap Trump into some kind of perjury thing because they don't have enough evidence on Trump without trapping Trump into saying something stupid. I'm waiting for the jury decision. It is far from a slam dunk. Trump would probably pardon him at some point if found guilty but I wouldn't count on it happening tomorrow.

I'm not so sure anymore. He might get out of it. You only need 1 juror to think "well there only attacking him cause he helped trump, that's BS". You just never know. I don't think it's a 99% lock like people are thinking. 75% is my uneducated guess based on everything I've heard.

I understand. It's much easier for you to attack "lefties" rather than face the uncomfortable fact that you're backing that disgusting creaton in the White House and the criminals that surround him. This isn't a narrative created by lefties, it's a fact. Manafort's dirty and he's going down. He'll only flip on trump if a pardon for his state crimes isn't possible. These are facts you're eventually have to deal with.

75% are still pretty good odds.

Trump is going to wait and pardon his sons, Fredo and Fredo, and his son in law, Jahred. Trump isn’t going to waste a national **** storm on Manafort.

Ummmmmmmmmmm. Trump is the one who stopped a criminal from being in the White House and the criminals that surround her. Wonder what your opinion of Manafort would be if he is found not guilty?

I would tend to agree with you; Tho' I'm not sure when he would do this since we have the midterm elections before us and he might want to avoid any negative publicity that could hurt republicans before the elections. Only time will tell.

Yep, keep bashing liberals. It's what you do. Unfortunately for you, it's not going to stop justice from being done for the real criminals in the current administration.

Good point. Assuming Manafort's convicted trump can wait until after the midterms to pardon him.

It would be quite entertaining if Trump does pardon Manafort...

The SocialistProgressiveLiberalDemocrat (SPLD) meltdowns and hypocritical crying on MSM will be totally worth it!

It's factually a criminal trial, with a mountain of charges laid out against Manafort...in just this first trial.
But don't let facts get in the way.

They do want, as many criminal prosecutors do, cooperation. But that's also part of their proprietorial strategy, and not political. Try to keep up.

If I recall correctly all this evidence was bought up about 10 years ago and no charges were bought forth against Manafort.
So this is entirely political. Trump knowing that Manafort would be free as a bird if not for his short association with the campaign
may for that reason alone pardon Manafort . Many have been pardoned by president's for much worse offenses.

Nobody has a monopoly of insight into matters such as these, wait & see.

If Trump pardons Manifold, New York State will precede with State charges, like evading NYS taxes. Those charges are out of the reach of Trump. Then, Manafort might let NYS know what he has on Trump's corruption and conspiracies. Otherwise, Manafort ends up wearing orange polyester and eating baloney sandwiches for many years to come.

Probably when Meuller is finished, and Trump is left standing victorious, Trump will pardon all of the people convicted by Mueller, and work to pass a measure to "make whole" all of those who spent vast amounts of personal money defending themselves simple because they were in the Trump orbit.

Then I hope he fires Sessions, and gets a blood and guts prosecutor in there and appoints a dozen or so Special Fishermen and takes the meat to those who participated in the coup, and just for grins, assign one to Mueller and review all of his cases that involved excessive prosecutorial abuse outside the guidelines of the FBI, including sanctioning the deaths of informants in the Whitey Bulger trial, and his part in Fusion One when he was where the buck stops.

I am tired of seeing the elite get ignored, or get special treatment, or a slap on the wrist, while some poor schmuck gets ten years for doing even less.

The growing dual system of justice is a travesty that doesn't belong in America.

Manafort was being investigated in 2014, before the presidential campaign, according to this article. There was a counterintelligence investigation going on that precluded prosecution because once prosecuted new intelligence dries up.
