Kipling is to Milton as fast food hamburger is to high-end restaurant prime rib.
Wrong. When I am smug I am illustrious about it.
Literally correct.
George Soros? Not on my radar, except I know he tried to undermine Bush and failed utterly. I just hope he does a better job against Trump.
He has accomplished more for Kim Jong-un than he has for anyone else.
Yeah- a guy like Kim Jong-un making a fool out of a US President.
The feeling is not mutual.

The Enormous Volume and Frequency of Colossal High Crimes and Misdemeanors and Anti-Americanism from this potus is entirely impossible to stay abreast.

I’ll leave it to You American Band of Brothers and Sisters to have this at this moment. It’s back to House/Yard/Garage Work.

I can't believe what I am reading from you. I didn't write that you weren't being illustrious. How, has the president let you down, or looked foolish with Kim the younger? You may want to look into the shenanigans of George Soros. His interference with Brexit is worse than any meddling done here by the Russians.
Your disdain for me, and my writing is not mutual either, so I offer....

One More — Your Wisconsin and neighboring Minnesota voting today show us one of my Ten Provinces of USA Politics. These Two States represent what I consider the Best in USA Politics On the Issues.

Finally Kornacki gets to the FIVE of Eight CDs wide open in Minnesota, three Dems at Risk and 2 GOPs, as our elections should be. To be Honest, I could live with a lot of these GOPs like Pawlenty, Certainly not Walker.

Banana Republican Bulls***. The NYT record for factual accuracy is as good as any in the news media.

It is Obama’s position that Benghazi was the worst mistake of his presidency. And as for Trump he has never admitted making a mistake in his life

This is the first accurate statement you have made in this thread. Too bad you aren’t abiding by it.

Puke.

Yeah?- Well here are some thoughts about what God has planned for Trump’s immortal soul as a result of his “achievements and approaches”:

From Paradise Lost (Book 1, lines 44-47 & 61-70) with many thanks to John Milton

Him the Almighty Power
(Will hurl) headlong flaming…
With hideous ruin and combustion down
To bottomless perdition, there to dwell...
(In) A Dungeon horrible, on all sides round
As one great Furnace flamed, yet from those flames
No light, but rather darkness visible
Served only to discover sights of woe,
Regions of sorrow, doleful shades, where peace
And rest can never dwell, hope never comes

That comes to all; but torture without end
Still urges, and a fiery Deluge, fed
With ever-burning Sulphur unconsumed
Such place Eternal Justice ha(s) prepared...

Kim the younger is rebuilding his Nuclear Stockpiles. We gave up Very Necessary Joint Military Exercises with South Korea for NOTHING. Care for More?

GOPs stand with and for a Criminally Insane Traitor, a True Coward in every sense of the Word.

How do you know that he is stockpiling? Maybe he is, maybe not. In any event, he was already doing that. The only insanity I see is from those who repeat lies.
and baseless allegations against the President. Of all the Presidents we've had, how many have been so willing for dialogue in place of military exercises? I actually voted For President Obama, because he promised he would do that. He didn't sit with anyone of consequence, where he didn't botch it. Military exercises? I hope you know those are showmanship to a great degree. The President is not a coward in any sense of the word, nor is he insane. Though, it makes you feel good for you to say that, doesn't it?

China and Russia will be taking over Turkey soon, giving extreme exposure to NATO, not that #45 can even understand that, let alone act as a Statesman, which we all know he isn’t.

North Korea is rebuilding Syria’s Chemical Stockpiles. #45 has put thousands of OUR Soldiers at Risk being played by Assad, Erdogan, Putin and Xi.

And to mention #45 Selling Out the Kurds who have suffered so much in doing the brunt of the fighting against and defeating Daesh. #45 had ZERO to do with that.

Care for More?

That, of course would be up to you. What do you know of Erdogan? Do you agree he is a crumb who denies attempted genocide of the Armenians? I don't know how any president could win there. If he were to visit for talks, the press would lose their minds about him cozying up to a thug(ex. Kim). If he doesn't kowtow to Erdogan, he is accused of losing Turkey.
What do you suggest he do about N. Korea, bomb them? He at least has made an effort, even if the results are pooh-poohed.
45 and the Kurds? I have a great deal of concern about them, but you can count back a long time to find a president who didn't use and discard them. They have been played by everyone in power here for a long time. I think the biggest stumbling block for them is their stated goal of independence.
And, all of our brave troops are in danger, almost everywhere.

Oh? So you think I am illustrious? Thanks!

Thing is, you said my smugness was unworthy, FYI “unworthy” being an antonym of “illustrious”, and you were in no way complimentary elsewhere.

Trump looked foolish by waving around that stupid Singapore piece of paper where NK said it would work “toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula”, and claiming that there was “no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea”.

Then last month when Pompeo goes to NK and tells them to start by giving up 60-70% of their nukes.

To which NK responded: “The U.S. side came up only with its unilateral and gangster-like demand for denuclearization”, so negotiations are dead in the water, and that is where they are going to stay.

Think of it: NK develops a nuke and ICBM arsenal and what happens?

What happens is that after more than 60 years of implacable US hostility and avoidance, treatment which NK fully deserved, the US President does a complete flip and comes begging for a first-ever summit. Since this sensational NK victory followed hard on the heels of their nuclearization NK is absolutely sure to credit nuclearization for bringing it about, and NK is absolutely sure to hang onto every nuke they have.

Trump’s bubbly, smiley-faced enthusiasm is flat on its face. His bubble has been cut off at the knees (hope you don’t object to mixed metaphors) with the whole world watching. It does not get much more foolish-looking than that.

All this was predictable from the start. Harry Kazianis of Fox News actually provides some good commentary on the subject:

7/31/18: Kim vs. Trump: North Korea's leaders have never kept their word on nukes (7/31/18)

(from link):
You don’t need a Ph.D. in foreign relations to figure out North Korea’s long-term strategy or intentions. In fact, despite Kim’s smiles and handshakes when he met with President Trump, the North Koreans love to tell us what they are going to do before they do it…

While I don’t want to sound like an apologist for the brutal and murderous Kim regime, the facts are clear: Kim never agreed to any sort of missile or nuclear production freeze before, during or after his summit with President Trump.

Is North Korea breaking its word to Trump? (8/13/18)

(from link):
Recent comments by North Korea’s foreign minister could signal that dictator Kim Jong Un may break his vague pledge to President Trump to dismantle the North’s nuclear weapons and missile programs.

Since Kim, his father and grandfather who ruled before him all have a well-documented history of lying about North Korea’s military aims when it suits their interests, it should not come as a shock that Kim is continuing the proud family tradition.

To which I add: The Kim family has created an Orwellian state, a state as loathsome as any in world history. They have murdered millions of their own people by starvation and violence. See link for an example of what kind of fiend we are up against:

Fox News: North Korea's Kim Jong Un uses terrifyingly creative methods to kill enemies

(from link):
While some of the terrifying methods of execution have never been confirmed, the mere mention of them is sure to keep his inner circle in line - and any potential rivals quiet, say experts…

Perhaps the most frightening method of execution ordered by the 33-year-old, third-generation dictator is allowing a pack of starving dogs to devour enemies. In one notable case, the victim was purportedly Kim's own uncle.

Jang Song-thaek was thought of as a father figure to Kim Jong Un, and served as the second-in-command to the supreme leader. But when he ran afoul of Kim in 2013 for "anti-state acts" and "double-dealing," his familial ties couldn't save him from his nephew's wrath.

Finally, and mark my words: NK will never negotiate in good faith, and there is no use negotiating with them.

We will only look foolish if we do so.

I'd give 3 to 1 odds Chump has never read a single Kipling book, short story or poem. That you tie your admiration for our President with printed words from Rudyard Kipling made for a morning smile! Thank you!

It's very possible that Trump has little or no appreciation of poetry or the arts.

On a football team, the guys on defense and the guys on offense do different things. Within the offense, the guy that throws the ball is not the blocker and the receiver is not the coordinator. All of these folks, though, are needed for the team to find success.

Kipling was never the Prime Minister of England. Trump is not known for his inspirational writing. We all have particular talents and gifts. Some are more well endowed than are others in definable areas with particular gifts.

Trump, obviously from the things he's accomplished, is gifted in gaining agreements and getting things done. Kipling, just as obviously, was gifted in describing the intrinsic strength and nobility of the human sprit in soaring rhetoric connecting the divine to the commonplace.

Both of these personality types, obviously, are required for the rest of to get by.

Do you condemn Kipling as worthless because he never held elected office as you condemn Trump for (perhaps) not appreciating poetry?

We know that Trump is a best selling writer. We know he's a successful entrepreneur. We know he has raised some very successful and loyal kids. We know he ran a corporation that was very successful. We know he built various buildings in New York overcoming the red tape and corruption of the city government.

You and others choose to ignore this impressive list of accomplishment to assert a fantasy of hate based on nothing other than your hate.

I find this to be an interesting projection.

More grins! Your post exemplified the art of thoughtful, long-winded projection. Trump didn't write any books; he merely has taken credit for writing books. Trump, privileged from birth, diversified the Trump name into an internationally recognized marketable brand.

Though they did not exist in real life, the two Kipling characters Gunga Din and Kim became heroes in my mind... in the manner of Jack London characters Wolf Larson and Humph.

Kipling, in the hypothetical sense, would have recognized Trump as a Con and a narcissist, not as a great man.

Dream on. I hope you prepare yourself for an awakening. Pop goes the Bubble!

Heavily justified rationalization.

Do you think that all of the success and successes that have happened around trump are the result of some naturally occurring phenomenon that would have occurred whether Trump was there or not?

After the success and the successes all occur and repeat and pile up, eventually, you need to examine what the connecting thread might be.

Would the patriots have won all those Super Bowls if Brady and Belichick were employed elsewhere? According to your thought process, that is exactly the case.

I don't know.

Not being snide, but I really don't know either. I guess we have to look back and see that what was done pre-Trump(Rep and Dem's) certainly hasn't worked. Maybe we ought to try paddling a different way. Maybe the new tact works, maybe it doesn't, but words cost less lives than bullets.

The 50-year policy has worked in keeping peace in Korea. There has been hardly any loss of life since 1953. As long as the US keeps a strong presence in SK there is no reason it cannot work indefinitely, so I guess I ought to have said we should keep up what we have been doing for 65 years, even though that offers no hope of uniting the peninsula in the forseeable future.

The new tactic has not worked and will never work.

My friend, when you write hardly any, that is quite forgiving. I can't see how talking to a dangerous opponent is bad. If the President had chosen to instead nuke the artillery facing Seoul, would that have been in any way better? I don't understand the objection to talking, rather than fighting an opponent.

I don't look at these political forums as a sort of cheerleading section, and there is much in the world that is unforgivable, with the NK government being at the top of the list for its entire existence.

Nobody said anything about nuking NK, so stop dreaming up false dichotomies.

Now, I have expressed my opinion giving enough reason to support it, and I am taking leave of this discussion, unless I notice some new novel remarks. Good bye.

Sorry, friend. It isn't a false dichotomy. Fight or talk are the choices. History has proven that many times over. If my add's have offended you, I'm sorry. That was never my intent. I just wanted a discussion.

On the topic of President Chump, responding with a farcical loaded question, under the best of circumstances, might make a reader laugh.

The majority of us, unlike gullible Trumpbots, do not rely on alternative facts. We recognize Chump as a Big Loser.

Do you think Chump has a favorite WWE wrestler? My guess: Ric Flair's daughter Charlotte.

All the other presidents took questions from CNN... whats Trumps problem .. if the kitchen is to hot get out of it....

We do have a Chump as POTUS. I nicknamed Trump Chump for good reasons, mainly because he lacks grace, honor, a sense of humor and empathy for others. I vote... and very much look forward to seeing the results of our midterm elections. Peace to you and yours!
