I consider the MSM to be the main conveyor of "Fake News" and we need to get pre ordained agenda narratives out of the MSM. Of course, since the MSM is controlled by only 5 or 6 individuals it presents the Corporatism can run amok syndrome. Also the buying power of the MSM's "for sale" marketing mechanisms.

NO
all wrong
Both Fox Entertainment and MS deal in "opinion and entertainment'' , NOT news. Perhaps at the beginning of each show they should state that the programming is opinion and NOT news .. for those so obtuse that they cannot "see" this .

Ah yes, I see, I see, or perhaps I don't. You don't think the MSM is a bought and sold procuct. That's capitalism or in these cases Corporatism. Either way you get what you pay for. That's the whole story. Now you and the MSM narrative may disagree, but it is "for sale' because that is the American Way. Fact of life..

What IS the ''enemy of the people" is those people who watch opinion/entertainment shows and avow that its "news'' ..

Where did you get your journalism degree? Oh, right, you're just talking **** about other people.

I don't need a degree in journalism to know that it's the dissemination of information/news impartially. At your favorite network, CNN, it isn't necessary.

Is "news" that is purposefully false or misleading something we should be battling against as our enemy? Why or why not?

Not only is fake news something we should be battling, it's something we should have been battling all along, not just now. Going back retroactive to 2015 anyway, we should have been more vigilant, checked multiples sources and we should be aware that every day propaganda is put out there to influence each of us. The sorting out the real from propaganda takes some effort and most don't even want to make that effort or want to know the facts. People will believe what they choose to believe not what's real or fake.

Is "news" that is purposefully false or misleading something we should be battling against as our enemy? Why or why not?

What I see, especially on the cable news networks is three networks that have taken sides in our political battles. Two present their news from the very liberal, leftest point of view, the other from the right, conservative. The three are becoming about as close as you can get to propaganda wings of the Democratic and Republican parties. None report the news, especially political news fairly, accurately and fully. All three have a political agenda and advances that agenda to the best of their ability with the most bias they can throw at the public.

All three are for profit news channels, all three are in the business to make as much money as possible out of their biased reporting of the news. Which caters to each's viewing audience. The left flocks to CNN and MSNBC, the right to Fox. Can we fault these three news networks for giving their viewership what they want, the news in a way that their watchers and listeners want the news reported to them?

Perhaps the question should be, is reporting the news in a very bias way, not reporting the news in a fully, accurately or fair manner classified as being the enemy of the people? After all, all three are giving their viewers exactly what they want.

Trust in the media is at an all time low, probably because of all the bias reporting, because those reporting the news has taken sides. Only 32% of all Americans have either a great deal or a fair amount of trust in the news media to report the news fully, fairly and accurately. An all time low.

Perhaps people like to be told what to think. Like to have their political beliefs reinforced. Like the news only from their point of view, their political ideology, philosophy. If so, cable news is the place to turn. You won't get just the news reported, you'll get it from whichever stations political philosophy, agenda, bias and you can sit at home in comfort knowing not the accurate, full news, but the news from your point of view.

Such is news when money takes precedence over accurately, fully and fairly reporting of the days events. Keep your viewership happy and add more. The more viewership one networks has, the more money they can charge for their commercials.

Actual employment.

Not like a fake bartender at a website, right? Conservatives are really busy. They don't have time for that, right?

Yeah. Conservatives are busy working real jobs. Ignore the man behind the curtain playing with his pud and pretending to be busy.

I'd like a pretend whisky, straight, barkeep. If you have time.
