Neither Trump nor any sports figure should be role models for your kids. I can't think of ANY politician I would set up as a role model for my kids. Parents should be their role models. However, any time you set someone up as a role model there's a good chance they will eventually disappoint.

Are you kidding? There are a lot of sports figures and public figures that are GREAT role models for kids. Sure....parents should set a good example, but few kids actually look at their parents as role models.

Last year there was a mainstream poll where 50% of evangelicals polled said that Trump was a good role model for young people.

I am greatly looking forward to seeing a current mainstream poll on that subject, because that's just wrong.

Evangelicals by and large are pretty idiotic people.....so I'm not surprised.

Trump's job isn't to be a role model and he's got plenty of character flaws. In the Presidential effectiveness department, I think he's delivering.
Most Americans live outside of the political bubble and they want their government to work for them, not get all up in their lives, not complicate their lives and be able to have security from a good economy.
I think Trump is modeling getting **** done.

A President needs to have many qualifications to do his job. Trump has all the qualifications needed to be a great President. Leftists constantly vote for Democrats who promote debauchery. Anyone who voted for Trump was being a "good role model."

Actually, Hillary won the popular vote despite Russian interference, an FBI witchhunt, a country that is still insanely sexist, and Democrats running for a third term.

She wasted her opportunity by forgetting to campaign enough in key states. Trump didn't forget.

Really?

That's the liberal problem. They don't realize as parents they should be the role models.

You think sports figures make the best role models? Is your child destined to be a professional athlete? How about people like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Albert Einstein being role models? Or even Jonas Salk? Besides my wife and myself, I always promoted smart, successful people as role models for my kids.

No, actually a bunch of people in key states were so overconfident that Hillary was going to win that they either didn't show up at all or voted third party cause they wanted to protest the two-party system.

If you're looking for a mentor in business, yes. If you're looking for a mentor for being a good person, look to Jesus.

I'm not really buying the above tweet, mostly because we have had scumbag presidents in the past. But, I do agree that this one is a wee bit over the top crazy, and he certainly is the most immoral president we've had since John Kennedy.

Poll question:
Everyone should strive if at all possible to do the opposite of whatever Trump would do.

yes.., for dickheads, assholes and wankers

No, actually a bunch of people in key states were so overconfident that Hillary was going to win that they either didn't show up at all or voted third party cause they wanted to protest the two-party system.

That's actually true, thanks to the likes of Rachel Maddow and Mornin' Joe telling them Hillary had it in the bag. Silly fools, the Democrats believed them. But Trump did run a great campaign in those key states.

Absolutely, parents need to set a good example for their children...but the reality is, when you ask a kid about role models, their parents are boring...and not likely the people that they would mention (at least until they are much older and recognize what their parents have done for them). A kid doesn't have to become a professional athlete to look up to an athlete, especially one who does great work in the community and conducts himself/herself as an exemplary figure. Many do. Sure Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Albert Einstein are all great role models. A kid can have more than 1 role model as well.

beating up on Bernie made her look bad even to Democrats. She has no one but herself to blame.

So, Hillary is to blame for beating Bernie, but also to blame for losing to Trump? Shouldn't Bernie be to blame for losing to Hillary or Trump be to blame for beating up on Hillary? If the campaign was doing so well that voters got overconfident doesn't that mean she her campaign was too good? I mean maybe if she would have made it seem like Trump was more of a threat to win all those overconfident voters would have voted for her?

Yes....by promising the rust belt jobs that everyone knows will not be coming back. Since he has failed to deliver on those promises, have you seen Trumps approval ratings in those three states (Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania)? Under 40% in all three, because they now recognize that they were conned by a snakeoil salesman.

Trump is actually the perfect ANTI- Role model. Teach your children to do exactly opposite what Trump does:

- Don't grab women by the *****
- Don't walk into dressing rooms of unclothed underage girls
- Don't cheat on every one of your wives
- Dont hang out with pornstars and prostitutes
- Be honest
- Don't have your attorney pay out hush money to silence extra-marital affairs.
- Don't cower to dictators
- Don't stand with adversaries against the United States
etc....etc....etc....

That's the liberal problem. They don't realize as parents they should be the role models.
You can't control who your children look up to.

You think sports figures make the best role models?
No, but I know that my child does look up to them and hope that he can someday be just like them, and there's very little I can do to stop it so I do have to ask that sports figures at least try to make a good impression.

I always promoted smart, successful people as role models for my kids.
Promote all you want to, it's not a choice you can make for them. The President of the United States is the most famous and most powerful person in the world. If you want to learn what makes a person successful you should be able to look to that person and get a reasonably decent idea what qualities would make so many people trust you with their future.

Mostly, but his flaws are big enough that I cant say yes. He is far too good of a man for me to be able to say no though.

It is a real shame that this poll is not Better Quality.

No. As much as I support him, he's not the best role model for anyone.

Here's a guy in Ohio who thinks Trump's an excellent role model!

"You're a rude (N-word)" Contractor calls black man a racist word during confrontation.

Charles Lovett says it all started Tuesday morning because of a disagreement over who had the right of way in a lane on Morse Road. Lovett claims the man got upset with him because he thought Lovett had cut him off on Morse Road in the area of Interstate 71 and Sinclair Road. Lovett says the man nearly sideswiped him trying to cross over from the Sinclair Road lane into the Morse Road lane, and Lovett honked at him.
