The Democratic Party is a progressive-based party and progressives don't believe in basic freedoms so, no, Libertarians wouldn't be best served by moving over to the dems.. The only ones being best served in that scenario would be the dems.

Libertarian Lefts are left-out today with their throwaway votes this century, and along with not voting at all. I haven’t had that electoral disease since voting against Nixon in 1972.

What? Putin is a 'godfather'-like figure. He's the head of a crime-family, so to speak. He believes in his own warped sense of pure capitalism but not in small government because he's totalitarian.
And no, he's not conservative. Are you mixing up the terms fascism and conservative?

Family farmers don't believe in free trade. They just want their crops sold to the highest bidder. NAFTA isn't free trade because one has to trade with other members in the alliance.

Not since I started voting 3rd party. Ok, some may blame those of us who do so of throwing our votes away. Give me a candidate I can stomach, and I don't care if it is a Dem or a Rep. More of the same, some extremist, or some lame candidate like Hillary, and I'll vote 3rd every time. No regrets at all.

If you want the Libertarian Party to rise, you have to kill one of the two major parties. By voting Democrat you're not trying to convince Democrats to agree with your ideas, you're showing Republicans that their religious nuttery, warmongering, and racism aren't going to fly. You could crush them into oblivion, and once they were relegated to a regional party there would be an opportunity for the Libertarian Party to step in and take their place.

There is no future for racism, homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia, misogyny, and religious extremism. There will always be a debate between fiscal conservativism, and fiscal liberalism, but the social liberalism should be a settled debate. If you call yourself a Libertarian you should no that. If you're voting for Republicans it's because your greed and selfishness outweigh all your other concepts of right and wrong.

What's sad is if you were capable of realizing all this then you'd likely also realize that it is the failure of your beloved free market which is making it virtually impossible for the libertarian party to rise in the first place. The irony is amazing.

When Democrats begin including an IKE 2.0 Infrastructure plan in their platform, they’ll win back my people on the farm. gops are only now just mouthing nothings on Infrastructure, as they see Democrats winning on this most vital rebuilding of our Nation.

I'm from Iowa. Many farmers are Libertarian. They just want to be left alone to do their thing and eke out a living....and most are right-winged.

Conservatives (small c) are siding with Trump. Tucker Carlson does it daily. Pat Buchanan does. Oh yeah, Rand Paul.

There is a political difference between Rand Paul and Newt Gingrich, for example. Both call themselves conservatives. Paul is really for small government and Gingrich isn't

My opinion at the time was that I wanted the US to stay out of it, which is well documented on this site. Do I support the orange cult leader being beholden and subservient to Putin? Definitely not.
