Trump today attempted to 'walkback' his controversial meddling comment made in Helsinki yesterday, but he still stated that "other people could also have meddled"

As HowardB pointed out in another thread, what he said was what he had been saying all along, so for him now to pretend he didn't mean it on that one occasion?

And what about everything else he said to please Putin? Maybe he had a psychotic episode or a stroke? I did notice he did a lot of sweating.

Trump’s attempt at lying his way out FAILED because he made the same claim several times in different ways during the press conference with Putin.

Trump thinks that EVERYBODY is a moron, not just his supporters.
 
Trump said something initially without thinking much into it (thinking solely about Russian gov collusion with his campaign) and issued a strong denial, then further clarified his comments after people raged. That's my take on it.

Weak. Pathetic.
On stage beside Putin he emphasized the word, 'would'. To protest now, away from Putin's gaze, that he really meant 'wouldn't' is just feeble.
Putin owns that guy, and as it stands there's nobody who can find out why. But someone needs to, right smartly, while there's still some hope of saving the western alliance.
 
There was more than ample time for either Trump or his aides to immediately catch something of that magnitude.

But no, it wasn't until many in his own party came out in protest of his statement that he chose to come forth and say he meant something else.

He reminds me of the criminal on the tv show COPS who tries to stutter his way out of being caught red handed in a criminal activity.

Trump emphasized the word 'would' when he was standing beside Putin. Now, away from Putin, he's falling back on that worn-out fallback all his supporters have relied on since his campaign started- "No, no, what I really meant was...".

#45 offered zero denial when he said ‘other people’. This is called gop false-equivalence in the states.

The Soviet Communist Military has now given the USSA it’s talking points, just as it did with #45 giving up Israeli assets in the White House to Vlad’s man Lavrov.
