EDIT - oops, this was supposed to be in E&C.

Chart of the day: In 2017, US had largest decline in CO2 emissions in the world for 9th time this century - AEI

In case anyone needed a chuckle.

Are we to really believe with the huge strides that Germany has made in renewables that their emissions actually increased?
And America, the one major economy not in the Paris accord somehow had the largest reduction?
This oil-company-funded study does not seem to even attempt to be objective.

Why would you not believe that the US emissions are dropping?
New homes are much more energy efficient, LED lights produce the same amount of light as an incandescent for about
20% of the energy, even cars are more efficient.
But while BP may have done a study, The Federal Government also shows emissions have been dropping for several years.

The idea that nothing will change if we do not participate in the Paris Accord is silly.
Many things pointing to lower emissions were already in progress and will continue.
What people need to understand is that when market forces move people, they generally move in volume.
If someone tells their neighbors that spending $100 on LED lights, cuts their electric bill by $20 a month,
they get that, it is real savings they can realize quickly.
