Are you for a state ban on The Pill?

Ban The Pill in your state?

Why do pro-lifers even care? It's not your baby. It's not your burden. It's not your problem.

They are busybodies who cannot keep their noses out of other peoples business.

I'm wanting one of them to be honest and say that a deity from a spiritual plain demands their protest.

Would this be the same god that allowed the pill to be created?

Would this be the same god that allowed the pill to be created?

Or the same God who, in the same beginning Chapter of the Book, pulled a prank on Abraham by kidding about murdering his own son and then going ahead and slaughtering children in Sodom and Gomorrah? Yeah.

It's not even about hypocrisy. It's just about stupidity. If Jesus Christ is our personal Savior, then why do Christians take it upon themselves to force others to behave as if their soul is in their hands? If the argument is that we Christians have a duty to create a nation for God (oh, but not an Islamic state or anything), then why do they also want the end of days? All that is supposed to matter is their own soul. Oh, and there's the whole idea of prayer for guidance and strength, despite preaching that free will and a hands-off approach was the greatest gift. Ah well. Perhaps six million Jews, as the Chosen Ones, just didn't pray hard enough during the Third Reich.

In the mean time, the grand crusade is to force women to get knocked up for God, because "He knew you in the womb" and because politics demand it.

As you can tell, I was raised Christian by a very devout mother.

For fun. Ever heard of it?

And some think it's fun to get high every night and slough off their responsibility to their families. If you're solely making an appeal to pleasure, then what's wrong with that?

Why do you want to control people?

We control people all the time. That's what law enforcement does. We just differ on what we want to control people to do, or not do.

And what is this altered worldview of which you speak? Oh, and please don't create some personal worldview that you've reverse engineered to apply. Let's see some substantiation of this world view and how it is perceived by all of these folks who are depressed.

This should be good.

Simply put, a barren worldview. One that sees children as a burden on the planet rather than placing man above the environment. One that sees children as an unfortunate side effect as sex rather than the entire purpose of sex. One that is fine with people going through life for a career and never having familiar responsibilities. If you view children in such a negative light, then what does that say about your view of man in general, and yourself specifically?

Is pleasure man's highest end?

Of course not. Making babies is man's highest end. And man must try to minimize any concomitant pleasure in the process.

Haha, talk about a dodge. Imagine a mental health professional thinking that bulimia is not wrong.

Define "wrong". You do realize that "wrong" indicates a personal value judgement, right? You're the one dodging because you tried to change the goalposts and I called you out on it.

Define "wrong".

This entire post is nothing but a non sequitur. I asked you to not create a personal worldview and then what do you do? Create some personal worldview that you ascribe to others. You do not speak for anyone else. That's why your post above not only is a logical fallacy, but is also completely worthless. Good job.

There's the reason. You have a medical condition that prevents you from taking it. Of course they wouldn't push it on you, it would cause you physical harm. Tell a doctor that you're not on it because you don't want to be and you'll get a very different experience.

They don't know that when I first come in, nor even most when I actually get the test done. You claimed it happens from the start. Most doctors do not know what my deficiency is because it is rare. It does not come with a warning "cannot take birth control" when I report it. It is not even assumed. If birth control is suggested, it is only after a discussion about what I might want. I am able to use low-hormone BC. I don't. But it was never "pushed" on me as you claim.

I have told doctors that I did not want to be on birth control prior to finding out about my deficiency (which was when I was about 23-24). It was never mentioned beyond "are you on BC", "no", "do you want to be", "not necessary", "okay", conversation moves on. That is not pushing BC on me or anyone else.

And how many women do you know of reproductive age who choose to not use birth control?

Quite a few actually. I have 2 sisters, a best friend, multiple female 1st and 2nd cousins, many personal female friends who are not on BC. Some others are on it. My mother was never against it. It is definitely something that women should consider if they are planning to have sex but don't want to get pregnant. A discussion with their doctor should then follow including their personal and family medical history and their BC needs. It isn't that hard.

A chair is meant for sitting. How can I tell? By the design. My stomach is meant for digesting. How can I tell? By the design.

I'll ask you the same question that I asked Lursa. Why is bulimia wrong?

What? A chair was designed by men and can be used for building a fort. I have done it many times. I also use chairs as places to put other things, including hanging my purses and jackets. Sounds like a chair has more uses than simply what it was "designed" for. Additionally, there are chairs that are never sat in. They are not in fact meant for that purpose at all. They are built as a chair but for decorative purposes only.

Bulimia causes health issues for anyone who is afflicted by it. No one can have bulimia and not suffer negative health consequences.

I'm saying that having sex without even being open to the possibility of getting pregnant is akin to eating your food and vomiting it. You're engaging in the activity purely for the pleasure while spurning the entire purpose of the act.

No it isn't anywhere close to a valid comparison. Vomiting on a continuous basis causes major health issues, including damage to the mouth and throat, as well as malnutrition. There is no escaping or precautions to avoid these things either. The cause of bulimia is also very different than any sexuality.

Bulimics also do not eat for pleasure. They impulsively eat to sate hunger and to allow them to purge successfully (which seems to be where the pleasure actually comes from for a good portion of bulimics).

Man should not be placed above the environment. We are part of the environment.

We are more important than the environment. We are more valuable.

That is pleasure.

But if they could (which is a common trope in literature), would you be okay with it?

And what do their doctors say when they're invariably asked about whether they're using contraceptives (assuming they're having sex)?

The guy who's arguing semantics is talking about moving goalposts. Okay.

You don't think bulimia is wrong. Got it.
