Are you for a state ban on The Pill?

Ban The Pill in your state?

Yep, the best stories are based on real life.

So I suppose you're going to say that nobody has proposed banning RvW? Is that your position?

LOL, yeah I saw that one. These guys are like a bunch of skittish antelope - one thinks he sees a wolf and sets off the alarm and whole herd stampedes off; and not one asks "where?".

Now that's a good analogy. :)

How the hell can anybody be against the pill?
I doubt anyone is. Just another scare tactic of the prog powers-that-be to control their lemmings, er . . . followers.

"Banning Roe v. Wade"? I think you mean overturning it. Of course they have, but politicians don't have that power. You know this already.

Rational logic doesn't work on people who want the sky to be falling.
There are a lot of religious nuts in this country, it wouldn't surprise me

I believe the pill should be mandatory. A felony not to take it. But there should also be a male pill (just to be fair and all PC). It should be administered in beer.

Those "religious nuts" would have to have a majority on the Supreme Court to make it happen.

We should ban birth control pills. And also women shouldn't be allowed to talk back or badly to/about Trump. And they should understand how to properly make a roast. And make a roast. And would it kill you to just go ahead and make the bread? I mean for goodness sake, it's not that hard, quit wasting money on store bought bread. Women....sheeesh.

Too soon!

Like I said, I've heard some political rhetoric on it; but that's all it is. To actually reverse RvW they have to get a case before SCOTUS and that is a daunting task, to say the least; they'd have to come up with a compelling legal argument reversing the Rvw decision and channel it through the appeal system and finally get the court to hear the case. And even THEN the justices would like apply legal standards vs their personal beliefs; if even ONE of the "conservative" justices did that - Roe would stand.

This was your original post:

Where in the world do you even come up with this lunacy? The "pill" has been around for decades, who the heck is going to even propose banning it or any other contraceptives?

"Decades" and "proposing" were your original standards, but then you moved the goal posts the instant I came up with something that a good number of people have proposed overturning in spite of it being the law of the land for four and a half decades.

And yes, of course the way to do that is to get a case to a Supreme Court in which there is a majority of right wing ideologues in order to rule in such a way as to effectively overturn RvW. That's the point.

Nope, nothing moved. Even if it gets to the court, I'd bet stare decisis would win out over your imagery ideologues.

This is a jump-off from another poll about birth control.

The Pill -- the oral contraceptive that many women take everyday to prevent pregnancy. If a lawmaker in your state proposed a ban on The Pill, would you be for it or against it?

What are we? Back in the 60's again?

Actually who cares. You know it’s funny how people act when their rights are being taken away! I don’t really care because I look at it as a right for women. Should we ban condoms? I don’t really get it we’re fighting over something stupid but we need to have the government to tell my daughter that she can’t get abortion? Get a life and, get your blink nose out of people’s decisions

Can’t censor this Patriot

Since I haven't heard any state leader propose this, I don't think it's an issue. Are there people who think this? Probably. There are likely people who believe Miami could get wiped out by a rogue ice berg, too. I don't feel compelled to address all the nutty ideas that might be out there, and I'm tired of the scare tactics of the left based on stuff made up out of whole cloth.

There needs to be another category for being against banning The Pill, but against paying for it.

Just a thought.

Why?

If it's a money thing, for every govt dollar spent on family and reproductive services, taxpayers save $7 later.

States could pass such a law tho. And then it would have to be challenged in the courts and then the court would have to decide to hear it.

Where do lefters even come up with these stupid questions? I'm a staunch prolife constitutional conservative and I can tell you that it's never even come up in any conversation that I've ever heard. Talk about creating a crisis!

How about the fact that some people are absolutely for banning the pill, even lie about it.

The Pill Kills - 2015 - The Pill Kills Truth

There is a small portion of the US who would like to ban birth control pills, for a number of reasons, but the most popular is that their religious beliefs go against their use or they wrongly believe that birth control pills cause abortions.

I don't see any state getting the voters behind a law that bans all birth control. There would be huge blowback from the voters and people around the country since it's such an extreme position to take. The people who are against all birth control are not even close to being in a majority anywhere so how could this even have a chance of ever happening? It truly seems so irrational to think it could happen. I'm very pro-life and I and many pro-life people would protest against a law like this.

Yes, a small portion -- a very small portion. It takes more than a tiny minority to get lawmakers to pass such an extreme law. Can you even IMAGINE the protests? It would be a joint effort with pro-choice AND pro-life people.

You might be surprised how many people might support such a movement, especially if it comes from someone they believe in or support. I bet that plenty of those who support Trump currently would support such a thing if he came out in support of it. Not all, but plenty more than who otherwise may have been just "eh" about it if he stayed out of it. I'm not saying he would, but simply saying that some people really are sheep, and will go with, support whatever they are led to support, go with by "trusted" (by them) officials. The bill that the guy in California pushed to literally kill any who professed by homosexual got tens of thousands of signatures, in California. I'm willing to bet a lot more people support banning the pill than who actually support things like that bill had in it, yet it got tens of thousands of signatures by Californians. Imagine smaller towns, with fewer citizens, with something proposed by a lawmaker they voted for, plan to vote for.

Totally disagree. The Pill is so ingrained in society -- it's so commonplace. It's used daily by many women -- pro-choice and pro-life -- for preventing pregnancy and to help with other female issues in the reproductive system. It's so commonplace in our society that it would be like banning Tylenol. It's even more common than Tylenol, really, because it's taken everyday. If this was ever presented as a bill, there would be a collective WTF throughout the country - from ALL sides - and it would be immediately shut down. The idea that this would ever come to fruition is truly ludicrous to me. I mean -- I can't even believe we're talking about it.

It isn't that ingrained though in all populations, even here in the US. There are those who truly do believe that it is wrong or that it is harmful or that it can be used to cause an abortion. And it is a lot more than you seem to believe. Some would be fine with it being prescribed for regulating periods, but only that. They are against it being used for any other purpose.

There are polls that show about 8% of the population is against birth control. That is a very small percentage. But that is for the whole US. There are places where this 8% can be concentrated, and reach up to being close to if not over a majority. This is something people don't seem to understand. Just as there are places that could get a law voted in that would restrict relationships based on race, ban interracial or interfaith relationships if put to a vote, while far less than 10% of the whole US population is against such relationships. We are not evenly distributed by beliefs or support for things throughout the US.
