Yes, but he was just a few steps from being assassinated as he left Ukraine during the USA coup d'etat and hand picked USA leaders. Yanukobych had agreed to early elections but the Coup leaders wouldn't have it. Nuland and "Yats" ran the show. The Crimeans and Donetsk, Luhanstk(SP) did not approve or accept the coup d'etat gov't change. Now Ukraine has the most corrupt regime in Europe, but it has some of the World's best farmland, had a chokehold on energy deliveries to EU, and the military seaport at Sevastopol was the Jewel desired by the coup d'etat, but they didn't get it. if USA was before afraid of the old, rusted , and outdated sovok´s nukes the Serbs ´d still killing Bosniaks and Croatians , and Muscovite hordes would still be stationed in Berlin

It is this, it was gifted to the Soviet Union, not to Russia. The Soviet Union at that time was in power in the Ukraine, so not really a voluntary kind of thing IMHO but a gift from the Soviets to the Soviets.

1. there no longer is a Soviet Union
2. there is was no land link to Russia
3. it was illegally occupied, something that a country of laws should care about
4. Trump is a Putin loving idiot and will parrot Trump's views no matter what (he wants to win the next presidential election).
