The title says it all

What is the point of this?

There is no point to this..... ;)

Sure there is

1.To see which people flip their beliefs and ideas because of Trump

Those that thought the Leader of NK was a mad man 6 months ago, and now think he is going to be a reliable negotiating partner with the US

and those that thought the leader of NK was not a mad man 6 months ago, and now think he is.

In other words how many posters think for themselves or change their opinion based on what their political leader does or says

We know so little about him that it is impossible to say. I dont think he is insane and there isnt much evidence that he is kind and loving, but there is a possibility that he genuinely seeks to change things in his country. It could be fake, of course, but what if its not? The Berlin Wall came down, so anything is possible. Lets see what happens. If Kim is open to change and peace with his neighbors, there is no sense in boxing him out.

My answer is the same as if you asked me 8 months ago. He certainly isn’t a loving leader and I have no idea if he is a mad man. I tend to doubt he is a mad man as he has avoided war. I think he is the product of his upbringing. But as with all of us, as we grow older and become more exposed to the outside world it becomes more and more likely that we drift away from our initial indoctrination.

If Kim were 70 years old I would highly doubt he would change his ways. His youth, however, is what gives me a glimmer of hope. The worst thing we can do is cut him off from the world stage and reinforce in his mind that was his father told him of the West is true.

We need to be smart and forward thinking about how we handle him, assuming our primary goal is to avoid a war that will costs millions of lives.

Obviously, he's a loving leader. The guy we really have to watch out for is the Prime Minister of Canada.

Am I doing this right?

Between the two, he certainly leans more toward the latter. However, I think he is completely sane, but he is power hungry - which is far more concerning.

Why does it have to be just those two options?

You can write something in if you want. Mainly a middle road in where you believe he was not mad before, still is not mad, nor was he a loving leader and still is not a loving leader

And why does it have to be one or the other?

The main point is

Is Kim a threat to the US

Or

Or Kim a reliable partner to the US and no longer a nuclear threat

So you agree with Trump that the NK nuclear threat is over and China lifting sanctions and asking the U.N. to do the same is OK with you? China thinks it is now that Trump called Kim a "strong leader who loves his people".
BEIJING (AP) — China suggested Tuesday that the U.N. Security Council consider suspending or lifting sanctions against North Korea if the country is in compliance with U.N. resolutions and making progress in diplomatic negotiations.

Hours after talks between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump in Singapore, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said the Security Council’s sanctions against North Korea were designed to be adjusted and could be suspended or lifted in accordance with the North’s actions.

Are you asking me?

Well, your post brought the question to my mind and I was just voicing a thought, but sure, why not.

Is Kim a threat to the US

Kim will never be a reliable partner. And he won't give up his nukes. His ancestors won't allow it, for one thing.

His ancestors are dead. But there a numerous ways for Kim to open his country to the outside world, end the threats of war with his neighbors and still retain his hold on power. China is a perfect example.

China is an example of ending threats to neighbours?
You don't even know what kind of a threat China is. Nobody does. But it's for sure a threat. Hell, it's an inevitability.

And I doubt that Kim knows his ancestors are dead. His is a secular state but he was raised a little different from you and I.

Like I said. We're headed somewhere and it's about President Trump.

No one ever thought KJU was a kind, compassionate leader, and no one has changed their mind,

What do you mean no one? I can find tweets of at least one person
