Okay, before you get your panties in a twist, this is a hypothetical question. I'm not claiming Trump plans or wants to do this.

If Trump announced his aim to repeal the 22nd amendment that limits Presidents to two terms via the correct process, would you support him and support the repeal?

I don't consider myself a "Trump supporter" because I don't like him at all, didn't vote for him and won't vote for him in the future. I do like some things he's doing, though.

My answer to this is heck no.

While I may support a repeal of the 22nd Amendment on general principle, I have always said any repeal must exclude the sitting President, just as the 22nd itself did.

First of all, asking people not to get panties in a knot is clearly aimed at Trump supporters and the rest is aimed at demeaning Trump by innuendo.

If it were not meant to project a negative bias the question should be "if a President ....." But, regardless of what President would attempt it, my vote would be the same - NO..

Of course not because at the end of the day he’s a president either way if he is a democrat or republican if he repeal the 22nd amendment congress would have a problem with it because it would effect the terms limits that our founders automatically put into place

Can’t censor this Patriot

Before you answer, Trump supporters, keep in mind Obama probably would've won a third term without the 22nd.

Personally I think if you've got the stamina and will to be president for 12+ years, you're not doing it right.

I'm a supporter of the Commander in Chief. I was a supporter of the 44th CiC. I'm a supporter of the 45th CiC. No president can repeal an amendment in the Constitution, and no...it shouldnt be repealed. But prominently ...it cant happen so why would you even consider it?

I wouldn't repeal the 22nd no matter who proposed it.

I don't support any repeal of the 22nd, nor do I support most of Trump's policies (I plan on voting for someone else almost certainly as of right now in 2020).

However, this has come up for both of the last 2 Presidents. In one way or another, each side has said that these Presidents (Obama and GW Bush) would try to stay longer in some way as President, whether by repealing the 22nd or forcefully finding some other way to do it. I was a little young to pay much attention to such talk when Clinton was in office, and way too young before him to know or remember. But I've come to figure this just seems to be some talking point for many. I don't think it is likely to happen in any time in the near future (especially considering how much support such a change would take) though, regardless of who is sitting in that seat.

Not only no, but hell no. I'd also attack any other elected official that backed the idea.

I don't want anyone being in position of power that long and what's worse is then the next one along may be worse.

If Trump made it thru two terms and was popular enough that he would probably get elected to a third, then I'm all for it. Then a president wouldn't be a "lame duck' for most of his second term. I don't think term limits are necessary. Usually by the end of the second term we're ready for change anyways.

America had its revolution because it did not want a king. I can see him wanting a third term, a fourth term but I believe he will have died long before that. And may not be from natural causes.
