When I first started participating on the board there was an ebb and flow to the arguments between left and right. I am over simplifying the left and right tags to show supporters and detractors of the present political situation.

Those on the left looked for every misstep and highlighted it as being ‘the one.’ The ‘one’ being the straw on the camel.

I have noticed a shift in momentum, for lack of a better word. Those on the right are now highlighting every perceived flaw in the various investigations and holding them up as the ‘one.’ This ‘one’ being the straw that will cause the investigation/s to fail and exonerate the POTUS.

Anyone else notice any shift? I was going to use an offense/defense example, but couldn’t word it properly.

Offense vs Defense is basically it. A few years ago the left had the ball and the right was playing defense. But they coudn't get it done so they punted. Now the right has the ball and the left is playing defense.

What I was trying to convey was the shift here on the board and only the last year or so as that is the only sample I have to to compare. Sorry if I wasn’t clear.

word for the day is "impunity"
1. exemption from punishment.
2. immunity from detrimental effects, as of an action.
as long as the republican dominated congress is willing to ignore tRump's (in)actions the course correction mechanism of the Constitution has been put aside
THE reason for the left to get out the vote in future elections

Just the same thing that has been repeated time and time again, politics and power.

For the last several years, the Republicans have swung further and further into a populist mentality that demonized the left and attributed all virtue and patriotism to the right. The left thought it was just a phase and would pass. Remember when we were waiting for the "fever to break"? It never did and we got Trump. Then we were waiting for Trumps excesses and offensive behavior to finally ruin him. That didn't happen either, so now we've given up, understanding that no low it too low. The right's current posture regarding the investigations of Trump springs from their now radically different interpretation of reality, which they expect the left to some day come to accept as well. They're sure that eventually the truth will come out and we'll see that it really is a witch hunt and there was no collusion except by Hillary. Fun times!

I have noticed the more rational members on the left are being more circumspect in their comments.

Maybe the gravity of intelligence and justice departments going “rogue” is bring back memories of what the nation was afraid of in decades past.

Only in the mind of the most deluded Trump supporter are the FBI and intelligence agencies going "rogue." Jesus ****ing Christ. I guess any mental gymnastics you have to perform to justify defending the indefensible.

I was referring to the “more rational” members.

Don’t crap a perfectly good thread by coming after me!

Wishful thinking.
The reality is that all reasonable avenues of correcting this disaster for the nation, involves months if not years of "waiting".
SC investigation - have to wait
Cohen investigation - have to wait
elect R's out of office in droves - have to wait

There is nothing to do but patiently wait. And since those investigations are ongoing, and none of us *really* know what they will turn up, being circumspect is appropriate.

We do know it looks obviously bad for team Trump, but if it's being done correctly, there isn't much we can do except wait.

The constant attracts on the DOJ are obvious in their cause and intent, but the degree and lengths to which they are going are just that much more deplorable and unethical. What can be done about that? Wait until Dems are in office to roll them up? More waiting.

Well, the right has certainly been playing the apologists and actually defending the distemper caused by the right and the Trump cabal, just like they cheer-leaded for the war in Iraq and the Sean Hannity version of patriotism. It's certainly tribalism taken to the enth degree and defended no matter what the cost to the country which is very typical of a hostile political agenda: it's predatory that's for sure. As I've said on this board many times, it;s the very same type of mentality that burned witches and hunted and killed Irish Catholics during the time of Cromwell. The country has just gotten meaner and meaner ever since Ronald Reagan opened the flood gate for the radical right: the foot soldiers of the agenda who have created and propped up an imaginary enemy that controls the discourse and direction of the media. They spend money on that agenda and then left - with no money - has to go and defend against it which keeps them in a permanently defensive posture. The Democrats for their part are feeding from the same trough, so defend their non-position on this board is only an exercise in frustration. The only thing to do here is keep presenting facts that show the right-wing that their logic is flawed in the absolute.

And of course your opinion is Hillary did no wrong, and the entire investigations against her were bogus, right?

Perspective is a mean bitch....and one’s personal biases due tend to sway the evidence as they “perceive” it

Funny how all those investigations produced nada. She must have supernatural powers to get away with all those murders and shenanigans despite the years of investigations by dedicated Republicans.

Considering the only investigations of her have been friendly fire it isn't surprising she got a pass.

Over the years I have found that the mainstream media will be the attacker if the president is a republican and FoxNews and conservative talk radio will be the defender of the president and those roles switch when we get a democrat president. For example when the president is a republican then the media will act as though the president is the devil, give credence to negative conspiracies about the president, and piss bitch and moan about every little thing the president does no matter how insignificant the thing the president is accused of doing. While Fox News and conservative talk radio acts as though the president is a saint and downplays or ignore any scandal about the president. And when the president is a democrat then those roles change and its the mainstream media acting as though the president is a saint and ignore or downplays any scandals involving the president. While Fox News act as though the president is the devil, give credence to negative conspiracies about the president, and piss bitch and moan about every little thing the president does no matter how insignificant the thing the president is accused of doing.

Didn't happen. Deplorable post. But, this disinfo campaign is happening. Why?:

Solomon and Sara Carter know their roles: they’re easy marks for Republican oppo shoppos, who can provide a “journalistic” veneer for Laura Ingrate or Hannity.

It is different this time. Deplorables put a moron in the White House.

Was there really a spy inside the Trump campaign, as the president ...

WASHINGTON — The president's claim of a "spy" inside his campaign has been dismissed as absurd,
but the FBI has been known to send informants to speak to suspects.... both Page and Papadopoulos is Stefan Halper, a former official in the Nixon, ...

If I managed a slew of these, I would know how to spell the word, even if only out of familiarity.:

Is anyone else having trouble figuring out what this poll is about?

Christ on a cracker people! Must every freaking thread end up like this? It's getting ****ing old.

To answer your actual poll question, yes. I have noticed as well.

LOL That's quite a hoot. It's like you forgot that Mueller is our "offense" and all the right has is a vain attempt to discredit the damning evidence that Mueller already has with lame conspiracy theories.

You mean like Nixon and Watergate? Maybe it's wishful thinking that somehow the evidence of the criminality of the Trump Administration will be ignored because you don't care. The rule of law will be maintained, sorry. Just because you don't care is not a defense.
