The recent revelations regarding Michael Cohen’s consulting business and the businesses that paid ‘consulting’ fees, have made the news cycle for the last 24 hours or so. If these reports prove to be true, is there enough separation between Cohen and Trump to insulate the President? Essential Consultants, LLC.

Insulate the president from what?

To me, Cohen just epitomizes sleaze and grime. He won't fall on his sword for Trump. If he has anything he can give away to save his own skin, he'll do it.

It is going to depend on where the money went. If Cohen spent it on himself, it will not implicate Trump in anything

Cohen paid the Stormy Daniels hush money from that First Republic Bank account. Cohen also used Trump Organization e-mail to finalize the Stormy payoff. Trump replaced that payoff money.

The large corporate deposits (Novartis, AT&T, Korea Aerospace, Russian oligarch, etc.) seem to be Pay-to-Play advances.

Makes one wonder what sums of money have secretly been wired into Trumps offshore accounts, by whom, and why.

But if Trump was aware of and directed Cohen's illicit activities, Trump is done.

Insulate the president from what?

Starting after Trump was sworn in, Cohen accepted monies from major corporations seeking favorable rulings from the Trump government. In addition, hundreds of thousands of dollars flowed to Cohen's LLC from a Russian oligarch. Downtown we call this bribery, if any of those parties successfully got favorable treatment from the Trump Admin.

For people who claimed (falsely) that Hillary's Foundation accepted money in return for government rulings to their benefit. This is about a million times worse than anything said about Clinton.

I want to see the questions that shareholders of AT&T ask at shareholder meetings about what was being bought with monthly checks of $50,000.

I'm no expert but I believe that part of a bribe is getting something for the payment you make. What is it that AT&T and Novartis got from Trump?

Trump was one of those people who said exactly that. Repeatedly.

By the way, I also would like AT&T t explain those payments. And Novartis.

Right about now Cohen is asking himself WWTD?

If the situation was reversed President Stable Genius would sell Cohen down the river in a New York minute. Cohen knows that. He's waiting for the indictment before he implicates Trump or maybe he's talking now. Either way, Cohen knows Trump would throw his own children over the wall to save his own ass. Why would Cohen step up for Trump?

That's exactly the reason why the investigation should not be stopped. It needs to be found what these companies and Russians expected to get.

Once again it's "we don't have a crime but we sure would like one so let's investigate and leak until we find one".

Yeah, it has been a long held policy of republicans that LEOs should never investigate until they have proof a crime was committed

And by long held, I mean since Trump was elected

I voted we'll see (as of my post the only vote for that option) ............... as a side note, Cohen & Trump both can go rot in Hell ................

I would like to know who is paying Porny Daniels' attorney. There's an article out there that says he owes 5 million in back taxes and a bit of a shady past himself.

Another article at the Hill says the Treasury IG is investigating who possibly leaked Cohen's bank records and who gave them to Porny Daniels' atty.

And then there is another story at the Daily Caller saying multiple companies that Porny's Atty. listed in his dossier of Cohen are not the same Michael Cohen and have already come forth and claimed such.

But just minutes ago Cohen is calling out Avenatti. disputes alleged payments

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/michae...-by-stormy-daniels-attorney-michael-avenatti/

Says he's got the wrong Cohen.

And that he is spreading false information

I’ll put you down for ‘we’ll see.’

Keep wishing...click your heels together while you're at it.

There sure seems to evidence of a crime being committed. The FBI doesn’t raid just any lawyer’s office and domicile, that is if you believe in the rule of law.

Can you honestly say this would raise no suspicions at all if it were HRC instead of DJT?

1. You failed to cite the article re claim about oweing back taxes.
2. Though records may have been illegally leaked, the legal culpability would be on the leaker, not the receiver.
3. Cohen’s lawyers do not dispute payments received from the Russian oligarch linked company, or from major corporations like AT&T and Novartis. These companies have released statements confirming the allegations. All told, we’re talking about close to $2M.

We don't know why Cohen's office was raided. We can be reasonably sure it wasn't for something the Mueller team was investigating because they wouldn't have farmed the case out to the District Court if it involved their investigation.

One must also consider the possibility that a lawyer with his eye on the public spotlight jumped on the chance to team up with a professional hooker and make it a point to be on TV as much as possible. Some people just have ambitions to be a Kardashian.

And if it were HRC? Would you be giving her the benefit of the doubt and rushing to her defense? Does Trump, who can barely utter a coherent and honest sentence, have your assurance that he can sit through an interview with Mueller without telling MULTIPLE lies under oath? He couldn’t even get through 2 questions during a mock interview. You think he should just plead the fifth because that’s what the American people deserve from their elected leader? The same elected leader who declared anyone who pleads the fifth is guilty?

You have made three points not four because your 4th is a repeat of #3.

But let's take #3. Do you know who the Russian oligarch is? The answer is Viktor Vekselberg. Are you aware that the Trump administration sanctioned him, his company along with 249 more over their election interference?
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo...cials-with-sanctions-over-election-interferen

Whatever Cohen was into, it isn't on the same page with the actions of this Administration.

Another example is ATT was mentioned yet the Trump administration went after ATT to try and stop the Time Warner merger.
https://www.recode.net/2017/11/20/1...o-lawsuit-antitrust-tv-merger-president-trump

Another example is how Novartis was at odds with Trump's immigration policies and his wanting drug costs lowered.

https://www.biospace.com/article/no...ump-s-b-proposition-to-create-more-u-s-jobs-/

All actions the Trump administration has taken against the above companies was not in their favor.

Also the consensus of who leaked Cohen's bank records to Porny's lawyer was most likely someone in government and now the IG of the Treasury is investigating it. Hardly good news when the FBI, DOJ and State Dept. along with other intel agencies under the Obama administration are already under scrutiny for bad behavior and anti-Trump bias.

Then you have the AG of NY Schneiderman who had become the "Resistance" hero for filing over 100 cases or joining others against the Trump administration in the past year abruptly resign due to violent pervert behavior of 5 women. Schneiderman was also working closely with Mueller on the Manafort case and two others.

And it is a fact that Porny's lawyer in making up his little dossier on Cohen, listed falsehoods. So again, who is paying Porny's lawyer?

Damn are we back to the Russian collusion again......Michael Cohen implicates Trump? How so? For having more than one client?
These conspiracy theories by the democrats are very tiring. I want go back to the WMD and/or US government bring down the Twin Towers.

#3 and #4 are repeats because you repeated the same point twice in your previous post.

Victor V was already sanctioned by the previous admin when Cohen accepted a half million dollar payment from him. According to Giuliani, this was a slush fund account used by Cohen to “fix” Trump’s personal problems discretely, allegedly without the knowledge of DJT (though that’s hard to believe). Therefore, the account is directly tied to the president.

its already been proven that Cohen was selling access to the presidency. Whether the companies actually received the benefits they were looking for is irrelevant, and the details are unknown at this point. You can’t trust DJT in business or in politics. He’s a wild card so even if he agreed to perform X for Y, it’s clear his is not a trustworthy partnership. But the whole thing reeks of pay-for-play.

Re new sanctions that this admin finally signed into law after dragging their feet: what is this admin doing to combat the Russian cyber threat? Refer to the testimony from the NSA Director to get your answer.
