Is Trump a good person? I am not going to try to define good person. Based it on what you believe makes a human being a good person.

I am not asking if he needs to be a good person in order to do his job.

By virtually every metric: no, he is not a good person. If I had a son, I would point to Donald Trump and say, "Do not grow up to be like that guy."

No, no contest. Poll should have been 'public!'

Yes But:

Trump is too willing to do the same slimy play that he sees others do, to go as low as they do which he considers playing by the rules and so long as he plays by the rules he is a good guy, which I wish he would not do.

I believe in setting an example through behaving better than the rest, that resisting gutter fights should be encouraged.

Trump went the other way all the way back to 1973 at least when he hooked up with Roy Cohn.

The first image that comes to mind at the question is one of Trump, red MAGA baseball hat, his face contorted in a grotesque faux mask mocking a reporter with cerebral palsey.

That's all I want to say about that.

Good enough to have a 51% approval rating today. :peace

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

So?

What I get from that is that Americans have a very low 'good' threshold and high degree of rude.

This post is like the drunk at a party, hopelessly trying to get attention deciding to lay down a big fart and ****s himself instead. It is rude. It is stupid. It is also really ****ing desperate.

and actually rather boring

FYI, fivethirtyeight's ratings of pollsters puts Rasmussen Reports at C+. It is always Trump's highest polling. Just in case you care.

You could say he loves his family, but then there's the "I would date her" comment. Hard to tell what he think of his wife

It should be noted that being a good person does not automatically make one a good leader, and being a bad person does not automatically make one a bad leader. But Trump is neither a good person nor a good leader.

There are 7 other recent polls that have him below water ranging from -18 to -10. This is no secret that his disapproval is widespread. It's fairly easy to look up the information and requires virtually no time spent on research.

Do the reading assignment and then we could talk:

HOW DONALD TRUMP AND ROY COHN’S RUTHLESS SYMBIOSIS CHANGED AMERICA

In 1973, a brash young would-be developer from Queens met one of New York’s premier power brokers: Roy Cohn, whose name is still synonymous with the rise of McCarthyism and its dark political arts. With the ruthless attorney as a guide, Trump propelled himself into the city’s power circles and learned many of the tactics that would inexplicably lead him to the White House years later.

There's the extra-marital affairs that kind of show disregard for spousal unity.

He might be stuck in the 1950's, in thinking that a man with money is allowed to sleep around because, you know he's a man with money.

I don't think he loves anyone or anything but himself.

The only reason their grade is that high is they have shown a tendency to moderate their numbers to fall more into line with others as the election gets closer and closer.

If those numbers are true then the next 'wall' we will be talking about will be along the 49th parallel. Slowly and quietly it appears the women of Canada amid the Yoga and hockey have been building a little boycott - of everything American. Lullemon which was founded a block from me is window advertising "the only Yoga "American free".

The last time the women of Canada united politically a guy by the name of Stephen Harper lost his job and we woke up to a federal cabinet that's 50% women. Mr. Trump is kind of the poster child for everything Canadian women despise.

Now if American women had the same resolve elections like Alabama would not be such a rarity

Trump's a sleazy, dishonest, amoral, spoiled-brat stuffed shirt.
No, he's about the antithesis of a 'good person'.

Ask the legions of folks that tRump has screwed over since the mid 70"s. The tRump ass kissers here have only known him since he entered the realm of politics about 2 years ago. In other words, they simply know nothing about him.

You do realize that Rasmussen Reports has for well over a decade published polls skewed strongly to the right, don't you? One thing they often do is to call only landlines - which means that they automatically leave out the majority of younger people who don't have landlines but only have cell phones. That in and of itself ensures that they mostly talk only to older - and thus more conservative - voters.

That's how their polls become so skewed.

By what we have been told, not sure. Do we know the guy personally and can say for sure? No.
Afaiac, the ones who think they can judge a person on hearsay and rumors need to take a good look in the mirror.
Is Trump a good President? Time will tell and history will have to be the judge.

IMO, the question should be this. Does the president need to be a good person in order to do his job?
My answer. NO.
Is Trump a good person?
I don't know him personally, so who am I to judge? If his family loves him, and his friends think highly of him, they're the people truly capable of judging him.
I do know he has done a lot of good, kind, charitable things for many people of all races. That doesn't make him selfish, and that's a good character trait to behold.
